      @@DavidTupling-Gresswell-qq3zoye but you live in some island of the Lamanche or somewhere in provincial England's village of 100 ppl where the largest employer is the gas station so logically for you is better to be on welfare you make more €€ like it. In any East European village or hood the social life is better than within American or English families among the closest siblings. Tnx God UK left EU pls keep away!

    Bulgaria is one of the few countries without the huge national debt of most countries in Europe. It' keeps costs down.

    I'm looking to leave the UK. I'm looking for alternatives. Housing here is unaffordable, taxes are high. Then energy prices go up and up because of governments policy with switching highly efficient energy creation for highly inefficient expensive "green" energy. It's £1.55 a litre of diesel now. Council tax is up 10% a mcdonald's is now £8 for a meal.

    Thank you for this informative video. The cost of living in NYC is very high due to inflation. Food prices have doubled since 2023. Utilities, rent, gasoline, and taxes have also increased significantly. My husband and I work full-time with 2 children, and we are very concerned with the near future. Global cost of living is out of control.

    Good to know! Last video I watched on BG said food costs were comparable to Western Europe. Prices seem to be stabilized here in the USA, and I've sourced all kinds of affordable options (our gas is cheap compared to much of the world), but still looking at a post-retirement resettlement in BG.

    I live in Sofia and didn't realize there is such a huge difference in prices and living standard, compared to a provincial town.
    Eggs here are 45-60 BG cents (22-30 EUR cents) and whole chicken is at least 9 BGN (4-5 EURs) or more per kilo.

    I’m Portuguese, lpg can is about 33-35€ you probably can find cheaper, rotisserie chicken is 6€ in the supermarket,cheap eggs are 2,18€ a dozen, electricity increased but not like the rest of Europe because we have higher percentage of renewal energy, chicken and pork is 5€/kg ,vile,fish is 10€/kg, house tax compared to other countries is “cheap”.
    Housing is the bigger problem even tho we have 79% of home ownership but expats and immigrants increased demand for housing and it was a problem before they came because of 08s crisis.

    • @udififkfkfck
      @udififkfkfck 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You energy bills went up exactly cause of the renewable green scam! Bulgaria is rich on own energy resources including the NP but they'll never build a 2nd one cause of EU unfortunately the Communism felt before the 2nd one was fully build we have only the abandoned construction site & the 3 Russian.made reactors which we donated free to Ukraine cause they no good but were gladly offered for free from EU to Ukraine & tnx to heavy corruption of Bulgarian politicians. In Bulgaria the ownership must be 100% cause we all inherited some properties alot of us farming land too an extra yearly income from rents to us but 1-2 generations from now the kids will have to live like Americans with mortgages & rents in their own Bulgaria the land of their own ancestors & the parents & grandparents won't be able to buy or build them homes like they still do. So welcome to the financial capitalism only a Communism can save us again & set up us free & happy.

    Whats the food and beer like in Bulgaria. Taste wise. And being a Brit, how are you able to own a house in Bulgaria

    • @nickob55
      @nickob55  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I mostly cook at home but the food in BG is salads soups and then mostly pork and chicken dishes, and they have pastries with mostly filo pastry, then theres lots of pizza joints and takeaways. The beer is great and cheap, and is around 60 pence for half liter can. To own a property you form a company and open a bank account in simple terms, but its very straightforward.

      @@nickob55locals cook lots of sheep beef & goat but already the villages are empty the communist collective farms are gone that's why is hard to find sheep & goat meats in stores & it'll be Australian New Zealandish or Romanian the beef will be few years old deep frozen Argentinian.. Till 1990 BG was competing for 1st place with Australia in sheep production in goats we were 1st in beef 5th. This shitty BG isn't even by all means 1/10 of old BG. With every thing that we ever produced we were in top 5 of the world. All gone no way come back God can't save us anymore.

      We don't need government we govern ourselves better without government unfortunately the good government tradition from Communism is gone. Bulgars are natural government haters natural libertarians those areas that are controlled by local families are the best to live in. We don't count on police unless in small towns where we all siblings or knock on wood the famous for doing nothing Bulgarian courts we just grab the guns & solve our problems that's why BG is so safe free respectful easy going silent cause nobody wants noise or to create problems to others the Newton's thermodynamics low comes in service to apply. If italy is only a democracy with mafia, BG is a mafia with democracy, the local families the connections the friendship the neighborhood life only protect us from Sofia's multinational sharks.

The working class single people are basically trapped in UK otherwise thanks to brexit as far as I know
