- Non-human primates have regained control of their paralyzed leg thanks to a neuroprosthetic interface that acts as a wireless bridge between the brain and spine, bypassing the injury. The interface was developed in an international collaboration led by EPFL. A feasibility clinical study has begun at the Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland to test the therapeutic effects of the spine-part of the interface in people with spinal cord injury.

The advancements in science is remarkable.
Fine work, that give hope for many people

Marvelous.
By the way, it took me some time to realize he was speaking in English and not in French :-)
Excellent job.
Amazing yet scientist can not figure out exactly why and how a TickleMe Plant moves when you Tickle it. Find the kits on amazon..
now this is amazing. 1960's futurism becomes real.
A for effort but their are many ways to walk again I wish I could say on here.
Absolutely amazing!!!!
What about the loss of feeling sensations?
what about feeling ?
What are the successes today? Ready for human?
Wow, this is great!!
unbelievable!
sounds like you need some gpgpu processors in this thing
Hopefully, they didn't destroy the primate's spinal chord in order to perform this experiment.
My thoughts exactly. Think this is wishful thinking!
Actually they did. That's how current science work.
Yeah, I know, wishful thinking. Still, one wonders how humans would like it if a more advanced species came here and treated us the same way we treat our fellow creatures: skinned us alive because they liked the feel of it draped over their shoulders; made toys out of our body parts; put us in cages to perform for their recreation; force-fed and force-bred us simply to slaughter and consume us; in the best of cases, kept us alive in captivity to amuse them as a "pet". Sounds pretty horrifying -- that must be what it's like for animals to cohabit the earth with humans. No wonder the free ones run when they see us.
It's interesting to note how they refer to the monkeys as "injured" -- as if by some unfortunate accident -- when in fact, they are the injurers. Such euphemistic use of language is a feeble attempt to hide their own agency in harming the animal. "He's not a victim of my aggression; he's simply 'injured'".
Incredible that anyone with a modicum of conscience would dare to put it that way; it's like saying Stalin helped his dissenters regain their health through manual labour.
Would this help a person who was born with Spina Bifida with the break at C-7??
this technology could be very dangerous if it is misused
how long will this take?
HOW MANY MORE FUCKING YEARS???
ziss is marva-luss! jus imajin' ze prospekts in tuu ze fu-chaar! peepul zet ar paralayzd wul be abl tu vak aga'n! tre bon!
wow!!!
Tiergerecht? Oder Tierequälerei?
This is horrific that "Cientifics" still experimenting in aniamals in the XXI century.
Find a better way to test this kind of technology.
Fake! 😅
