I remember you having to abandon your van in SA, getting all the documentation you needed to travel and your flight back to the US and spending time with both your parents and staying on the farm with Trent’s Mom and all the work you helped her with on the farm, clearing the barn, building the chicken coop, the goats, Oso, buying and renovating the RV, the wedding and you buying the property and starting the build. Hard to believe how much you have accomplished in just a year+. You two are inspirational. Was wondering where your van is now? x
I remember when you guy’s left your Van and rushed home! Your quarantine was truly Awesome, helping your Mom and bringing all of the livestock and precious crops and to her property. It was emotional and you did such a great job helping her make her home a real cool place to live! trent needs to replace the fences for his mom with much taller fences and he needs to make it so oso can go out with the goats so taller more secure fences there as well

That was so heartwarming when you guys visited Trent's mom for her birthday. We need to see more of her & of the dogs & goats, too! If you plant good types of grasses on your front bankings, you could bring the goats up there to live & they could keep the bankings trimmed. That would be one less animal care jobs for your mom to do as well. Thought we'd see the greenhouse, but it's probably not in use now. Most likely, Gloria's too busy for growing from seeds. Maybe you can take that to your mountain home too. With better insulation & an attached hoop house, you could grow crops in there while it's still snowing up there, in spring. I could see how moving it was for Trent to be back in his old BR where they'd 1st stayed, when he returned home. It was great to see how big Oso is now. He's O-so big! He'll likely fill out some more as he matures. He must be trained to not leave the property like that. He's smart & will learn to be more disciplined quickly, especially if Trent & Allie try to train him. He's too precious & could be injured or killed by a car, or wander off & get lost, or tangle with a large predator, or get dognapped. Sorry,, but it's true.

He has mentioned his sisters on several occasions. And I think there was a quick appearance by one of them in an older video. As far as mentioning his dad in the previous video at about 18:10 , I took that as a joke. He refers to his grandfather more as his dad. And I don't think you will ever hear him talk about his bio dad. Ever.
Wow! I followed the bread crumbs regarding the dad reference last week because I didn't recall it. That was Trent voicing the thoughts in Lika's head. "My dad told me never to trust people with windows. " Was Lika explaining why she was dodging Trent trying to grab her through the window. It was definitely a joke. And of course... Lika's dad is Trent. It was a circular joke saying that Lika was dodging Trent because of advice that Trent as her dad had given her and being a good pup, she followed it. And Wow! that was way too much explanation.
I got emotional, too when remembering our mother, she's gone for good since 2015, we have a lot of good memories, she literally my teacher in grade school. And she is a good desciplinarian
Interesting what you said about it being the best times of your lives. During those Spring months of 2020 and into the Summer my wife, a teacher, was working from home, I was working from home, my son was doing school from home, we were worried about Covid yes, but in retrospect, never have we gotten to do so many outdoor leisure activities, we fixed up our house a bunch, planted a huge garden, and got to spend tons of time together. It literally was one of the best times of our lives also. Makes you really think about what's important.
In a way I hope covid made others see what SAHM feel (in a good way of course) and how life goes by so quickly and spending time w your family, sometimes doing nothing at all can be a lot of fun... I’m so thankful my husband asked me to stay home w our babies rather than work at the time I didn’t get why he thought it was so important but now that our kids are older and we’re super close now, now I get it. I hope other families slowed down and built/rebuilt their relationships during this time.
Trent, I love how much you appreciate your mom. It reminds me of my son when he was going through a difficult time. For me, the hard time with this pandemic was not being able to see my kids or anyone for that matter (high risk in a highly-populated area). It has been me and my cat for 14 long months. I wish I could have seen them but they both live out of state. I'm glad I will be able to see them soon.
This is redundant but on a scaffold that high, there should be outriggers to keep it from tipping like that. Also, please get a HEPA vacuum and rotary vacuum sander when you get to the taping and sanding part.
@Kevin Morgan Allie has a condition that requires her body to be kept warm. She cannot function much in the cold. He's being very considerate of her condition.
Utah is a beautiful state! I’ve always thought I’d love to live in the mountains next to a big mountain lake. Most of my family lives in Western Kentucky where I’ve spent my entire life and I just couldn’t move away from my kids. It’s all about the kids for me, even when they are grown and gone. Out of sight but never out of mind.

Large Guardian Dogs should stay with the animals they are protecting ALL the time. Perhaps keeping Oso with the goats will give him something to protect & he would stay in. Or y'all might reach out to Premier One & get your sweet Mom one of their fences. All the homesteaders use & love them. Bless your Mom, I can just see her chasing after him.

Happy Birthday, Gloria. Sooooo missed you and very glad to see you, that you're alright. Did my heart good, seeing all the goats and the huge OSO, bless his his heart, free spirit, and the dogs playing together. I looked after farms several times so I know the routine. My Big boy is almost as big as Oso, 105 lbs, Bernese cross with something bigger, and my ninja girl, the escape artist is a big black lab cross. Mates for life, now 11 and 9 years old. I looked after as many as 10 head of beef cattle at a time, chasing them down the highway on foot, once, lolol. Happy times. Great kids you got there! Love from B.C.
Watching Lika and Frank with their bowls made me laugh. Got one for my puppy and it lasted 30 seconds before he dumped it and happily ate everything from the floor. 🤣

Forgot to mention that you might see if an invisible fence company would sponsor a fence for your mom. A safe way to keep that beautiful dog at home. Lots of folks give them a lot of praise.
Trained a our huskies but you must do the training exactly as they tell never had an issue after a while never had to keep the collar . Trained also a large hound works never had an issue works fantastic gives our dogs 1 1/2 acres and safety for them 😍😍

@@tinydancer7426 Yes. We have a Great Pyrenees dog also. We have had an invisible fence for two years. He has never passed thru the fence. We did have to get a larger collar as he has grown. He is the sweetest giant dog.
A dog like oso an invisible fence is not going to stop him pain is not the same for this bread i know because i have one. A gps collar and living with the goats and a new fence will help alot he needs a job.

@@michael__n9207 Yea here in AU they require a riggers or scaffolding cert ... like that is so needed :/ I was doing that as a kid. Just takes a lil bit of common sense and planning. Like remove all the boards off FIRST before you go lifting or moving it around. Or like put the wheels on the one side first (not front / back) as its less likely to tip over long lengthwise, and _starting_ with side nearest the wall so if it tips it goes against the loft wall where will do less damage and more importantly have easy access to it from above. Or better yet put both wheels on at a time, then do the other side again both at one time. Just basic common sense and forethought.
You two are such thoroughly likable people. I’m hooked!! Trent astounds me with his patience and unflappability and Allie’s genuine sweetness make watching what could be a stressful process very engaging. Kudos!
I cried. I would take Osoo in a flash. Trent, you are the kind of son mothers dream of raising. Bringing Allie into the circle is such a blessing for everyone.
I have two GPs. One is a homebody and the other does as he pleases with no regard for training or punishment. He knows right and wrong but he does wrong in front of you when it suits him.

Oso is bored. He is a highly intelligent breed and need a JOB. He needs training. He needs a group that do training and trial for herding. And now a border collie? These dogs do NOT sit around they WORK. You know you shouldn't chase a dog. It becomes a game. He needs recall training each day and then night for 20 minutes.
It’s about time we get a farm update! As a child who has lost her mother and also as a mother whose child is grown and out of the house i say don’t wait til special occasions to visit your mother. Time is finite and you will regret the time not spent with her some day.
Just a quick suggestion, when you go to hang sheet rock, if you leave your spray foam plastic in place, it will protect your woodwork and windows from the paint and the texture when you spray it on the walls

Good to see OSSO but it is a real shame his is not being used to his full potential at all, he is the type of dog breed for being a livestock guarddog life, he wants/needs a job for this it is why he keeps "exploring" he is being wasted and he knows it. He is SO bored he can't do what he was meant for. I feel sorry for him but at the same time I'm glad he has a loving place to live. He needs training.

Large Guardian Dogs should stay with the animals they are protecting ALL the time. Perhaps keeping Oso with the goats will give him something to protect & he would stay in. Or y'all might reach out to Premier One & get your sweet Mom one of their fences. All the homesteaders use & love them. Bless your Mom, I can just see her chasing after him.

Happy Birthday, Gloria. Sooooo missed you and very glad to see you, that you're alright. Did my heart good, seeing all the goats and the huge OSO, bless his his heart, free spirit, and the dogs playing together. I looked after farms several times so I know the routine. My Big boy is almost as big as Oso, 105 lbs, Bernese cross with something bigger, and my ninja girl, the escape artist is a big black lab cross. Mates for life, now 11 and 9 years old. I looked after as many as 10 head of beef cattle at a time, chasing them down the highway on foot, once, lolol. Happy times. Great kids you got there! Love from B.C.
Watching Lika and Frank with their bowls made me laugh. Got one for my puppy and it lasted 30 seconds before he dumped it and happily ate everything from the floor. 🤣

Forgot to mention that you might see if an invisible fence company would sponsor a fence for your mom. A safe way to keep that beautiful dog at home. Lots of folks give them a lot of praise.
My fox terrier used to take the shock, and run on through the fence!
I know the electric fence would keep the dog in, hopefully but how does it keep animal intruders out?
@@the_mum It doesn't, unless the other animal also wears a synchronized shock collar.
Any method of using shock is cruel, you need to just take the time to properly train your pet
Trained a our huskies but you must do the training exactly as they tell never had an issue after a while never had to keep the collar . Trained also a large hound works never had an issue works fantastic gives our dogs 1 1/2 acres and safety for them 😍😍

@@tinydancer7426 Yes. We have a Great Pyrenees dog also. We have had an invisible fence for two years. He has never passed thru the fence. We did have to get a larger collar as he has grown. He is the sweetest giant dog.

A dog like oso an invisible fence is not going to stop him pain is not the same for this bread i know because i have one. A gps collar and living with the goats and a new fence will help alot he needs a job.

@@michael__n9207 Yea here in AU they require a riggers or scaffolding cert ... like that is so needed :/ I was doing that as a kid. Just takes a lil bit of common sense and planning. Like remove all the boards off FIRST before you go lifting or moving it around. Or like put the wheels on the one side first (not front / back) as its less likely to tip over long lengthwise, and _starting_ with side nearest the wall so if it tips it goes against the loft wall where will do less damage and more importantly have easy access to it from above. Or better yet put both wheels on at a time, then do the other side again both at one time. Just basic common sense and forethought.
I think my favourite episodes are the ones at Trent's mom's place with the goats and the wooly mammoth, I mean Oso.

Oso is bored. He is a highly intelligent breed and need a JOB. He needs training. He needs a group that do training and trial for herding. And now a border collie? These dogs do NOT sit around they WORK. You know you shouldn't chase a dog. It becomes a game. He needs recall training each day and then night for 20 minutes.

It’s about time we get a farm update! As a child who has lost her mother and also as a mother whose child is grown and out of the house i say don’t wait til special occasions to visit your mother. Time is finite and you will regret the time not spent with her some day.

Just a quick suggestion, when you go to hang sheet rock, if you leave your spray foam plastic in place, it will protect your woodwork and windows from the paint and the texture when you spray it on the walls

Good to see OSSO but it is a real shame his is not being used to his full potential at all, he is the type of dog breed for being a livestock guarddog life, he wants/needs a job for this it is why he keeps "exploring" he is being wasted and he knows it. He is SO bored he can't do what he was meant for. I feel sorry for him but at the same time I'm glad he has a loving place to live. He needs training.
