Worker fired over Whatsapp messages

A worker employed by a South African firm was fired over what his employer said were threatening WhatsApp messages.
The matter was brought before the CCMArbitration, which was found in favour of the employer.
According to terms of the Labour Relations Act, was this dismissal fair?
