Loved this - great take on the 35mm.
NICE production quality! Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
i bought a real nice inexpensive watch and eventually found out it was based on the Tissot PRX - so I ended up buying the Tissot PRX and I compared the two of them to each other. Yes, the Tissot was a bit more polished, but aside from that, they looked exactly alike. I come to realize that you can spend $300 on a watch or $10 on a watch and unless you are trying to impress folks, an affordable no name brand will be fine and do the same thing as the expensive one.
I actually think spending more money doesn’t impress folk, to a normal person the 10 dollar and 3000 dollar watch looks the same
Realistically, the only person you’re speaking to by spending more money on a watch is yourself, appreciation for the heritage, the movement inside the watch, and the design elements
It’s like wearing a original piece of clothing vs a knockoff of the clothing, only you will know
don't know why just super like the vibe u re providing in every video that u make
glad to hear that!
Keep up the great work! 🎉
thank you!
I got the 35mm model for my significant other earlier this year. She loves it what a classy piece! One thing I’d also like to share though is the buying experience I had at the Tissot AD in South Jakarta. Man I think they did a great job giving me a good luxury buying experience. Very knowledgeable and engaging. The guy even took the time to comment on the 16570 I had on my wrist at the time before chatting me up on watch complications. Good job Tissot!
wow that is cool to hear! Which AD exactly?
@@ashleytee it was the one at Pondok Indah Mall ground floor.
Finally, a watch TH-camr with the same wrist size as me 😁. Great review , thanks. The watch looks good on you!
Hehe thank you!
I bought this exact model for myself a year ago but it has spent most of the time on my wife's wrist. Stunning watch for the price and looks great on anyone with smaller to mid sized wrists! Great review :)
Very nice!
Great to see you back Ash! I've tried both the 40 and the 35mm PRX in the past.. and I'd definitely go with the 35 myself because it wears almost like a 37-38mm because of that integrated bracelet design. Great watch from a great brand!
Yup, but I will be back for awhile only, after this will be busy with a newborn! 😂
You made the right choice with the dial. Looks amazing in real life and will forever look classy.
And a pro tip: Half links are rarely actually 'half' links, but more like 2/3 links. So by putting two half links together on the same side instead of a whole link, you can make more precise adjustments. A PRX is actually more adjustable(down to 3mm) than your average seiko(~4mm).
oh wow thanks for the tip, I genuinely didn't know about that
I love the look of this watch, and I definitely plan to pick one up in the future. The pearl dial colour is awesome too. 👍
Hey! I just noticed my name (Dylan) in the background. 😂
Hahaha! That's very observant of you 😂
good video and you brought up all the points for this watch and options at this price-point. I also own one of these but the PRX is just blah to me 😊…. definitely couldn’t have this as a one watch collection…. I would choose a WISE AD7 or AD9 as better options in the same price rage or a Seiko Cocktail time variant for one watch collection…..not integrated though. just my choice. I would recommend saving a little more and getting a CW12 instead, if integrated bracelet is the desire but that dial is not 35mm to my knowledge but never looked if they had that choice either. . MAEN Manhattan as you mentioned is a great option and maybe a better offering for the same price as the prx
Since no one else mentioned it, best wishes to you and your husband for the exciting development that will definitely prevent you from buying luxury watches for many years
Ah yes, priorities will definitely change. Thank you for your wishes!
Ashley, new sub here. I really like your style by watching this video and the previous one (crystal swap for your Seiko).
Hope you keep a simple and approachable style, 'cause I used to watch "Watch Gringa" and Jenni Elle, but they keep their videos very upmarket, and I got tired of that style very quickly. I love deals, and AliEx sure have them, but regular brands can have them too, and I hope that's what I'll get from your channel.
Don't get me wrong, comparisons are not very polite, but at the beginning does watch channels that I mentioned seemed refreshing with new points of view, but after a while everything veered toward RLX and Tudor, and that where I turned them off.
Best regards
Hey there, thanks for leaving feedback. I totally get what you mean there.
I would love to talk about rolex / tudor one day, but I just can't afford it yet! So I hope to keep this style for as long as I can :)
Thanks again
some really nice b roll
I have been thinking about this watch for a while thanks for the review.
No problem 👍
Hi Ashley, can you review Casio LTP B165
I'm not sure about that, but I'll see what can I do. Thanks for the suggestion
I really wanted one of these for a while. After trying them on and seeing them in person I was a bit disappointed. Just not for me I guess. I still get exited when I see them though!
I just brought the Tissot Seastar 1000 40 mm Powermatic 80 three weeks ago. Same movement as the PRX. The accuracy and stable is superb. No plastic parts find. If do so , it is ok. 50 years ago, Rolex movement also have plastic parts and they can go for 50 years. So, nothing really matter.
I'm a guy and I was once in that tacky phase, trying to rock 40-42mm watches on my small wrists lol. Eventually I realized I need to refine my choices so now I have smaller watches in my collection.
Yeh i noticed people love to wear big watches here in Malaysia when they have like 6.5 inches or below . I personally like to wear 38mm-40mm max for my 7 inch wrist. Bigger watches for small wrist does look really funny regardless whichever watch brands you are wearing. It's like , you're wearing the wrong size of underwear lmao
same here, saw some people wrist about 6inche but wearing 44mm - 48mm watch.
and those big wrist which 7.5inch above wearing 30-38mm watch.
@@coltrain7 that is hilarious hahah
Nothing wrong with the base Powermatic 80 movements. I have several and they’re very accurate (laser regulated at the factory). Plastic parts are antimagnetic and need no lubricant to avoid wear. When you service these movements with SWATCH they throw out the movement and put a new one in. Even if you have a 25 jewel Powermatic 80 movement you’re not getting the same parts back, they also swap those for a newly serviced or new movement.
50 years ago, when I started collecting watches, Tissot was one of those watches I thought I would never own. However, 50 years ago, I have a light green PRX. I don't know how I talked myself into buying it, but it's in my collection. I think I bought it just for the looks and nothing else.
I agree with your view that PRX is a bit over exposed. When it first came out as quartz, I kind of liked it.
I still might get a PRX quartz as I am not a huge fan of the Powermatic 80.
But as a one watch? No way. A one watch needs to be timeless, not neo vintage.
we're still talking about the PRX?
I would have ask you to get the mother of pearl version.800 bucks seem good for something swiss
Sorry if I misunderstood.. but I DID get the MOP version?
@@ashleytee No I understood you lol but if I vote which one to get I would ask you to get the MOP.The multicolour dial is just more fun to look at
@@discountmorty213 ahh, apologies! Slight misunderstanding there 😁 I agree with you
One interesting remark about your vid, as men in my opinion we are not afraid about small watches, I have a small wrist, 6,5 inches perimeter and nevertheless I go on and wear a Seiko Sumo which is a gigantic watch by any means. The thing is, most men watches are designed for X and XL wrists so to speak. I won't give up a watch just because it's size unless its one of those ridiculous Invicta's sizes.
Kinda agree with you there, like how I love my husband's Hamilton Intramatic Chrono although it's huge. Sometimes, I wear it too. Simply because they don't design those in smaller dimensions!
I honestly don’t mind of wearing a plastic watch as long it’s look great 5:36… about the 35mm to 39mm watch I consider them…. Try wearing a bvlgari CH35wSSD auto it’s great… and cheers for the new baby … the Christopher ward 12 is a great watch
Thank you! The 12 does look good, but haven't had a hands on experience yet
Been a while
The citizen Tsuyosa is also an even cheaper alternative to the integrated watch trend.
yes it is! Though the size might be too large for some
⌚️⌚️
"...this hedious piece of crap" hahahaha yes indeed it is (digital one), but the way it was said, almost poetic!
🤮 It really is
I’ve been hearing that the movements are not as serviceable.
that is really unfortunate if it's true. But I highly doubt it
Not my cup of tea. I have two Casio Edifice that also borrowed the design from the Royal Oak. They look better, wear very comfortably and the clasp is deployant and adjustable. Oh, and both of them cost only hundred bucks. 🕐⚙️🍸
What I don't understand is since it is Swiss, they could've at least made sure the movement is chronometer-certified too given that we're already paying that much (700 bucks isn't exactly cheap)
Put a swiss movement which is not a chronometer, might as well put in a Japanese movement.
I'm a guy and I prefer smaller watches. 😅
The PRX is NOT a good watch for a one watch collection.....and ironically.....its because of the movement😅😅. I bought my PRX 7 months ago and 6 months in i had to take it back to tissot for a complete movement replacement (under 3 year warranty) cuz the hand winding was gritty and essentially one of the pieces inside had broken. I own 15 watches and never had anything happen like this to any of em. The prx i also had for the shortest time and is my most expensive watch. Fair to say i will never buy another tiasot ever again
QC issues can happen to any watch. You just got unlucky.
oh no, that's really unfortunate, hopefully it's ok now?
Why did you say the PRX Digital is “a tedious piece of crap”? Is this based on facts or just your uneducated opinion? There is history behind the PRX Digital. If you care to do some research before running your mouth and being so disrespectful. You’re commenting like you have experience making watches yourself or you own a superior watch brand. The PRX Digital was originally launched in the 7Os, long before you were born. The current version is a reproduction. You may not like it but It’s definitely not “tedious” or “crap”.
We found the PRX digital buyer guys
Welcome to my channel buddy, I stand by my opinion. It IS hideous and I bet I'm not the only one who think so. But then again, I know preferences may differ, so thank you for such a comment
Nope, guys shouldn't be wearing anything less than 40mm. Looks silly to wear smaller watches....
What a ridiculous comment.
Nope, I have 6.3 wrist and I really prefer 38mm over 40mm. I find that anything over 40mm on my wrist look hideous
Muhammad Ali wore a sub 36 mm Cartier tank and he was twice the man as you
