Oh that ain't nothing. Fox was home of the black show in the 90's lol. Hell 1994 was known as the massacre of Fox's black sitcoms where four black shows were canned at the same time.
Well, the answer hasn't really changed, right? T.J or more so his PARENTS recognised his value after two good successful seasons on basically on a rookie deal. As the show is titled 'Smart guy' and as Omar stated its not *'The Hendersons & Mo'* Why settle?... Would you pay 'That's so Raven' or 'Lizzie Mcguire' the same fee as the rest of the cast?...NO! *My problem* is he said they tried to finesse a new contract in the middle of production which was *stupid* 😂.
@@nornay89 The WB and UPN combined to become CW. Yet, the black shows from UPN didn't make the cut to be added to the lineup for CW. I remember that well.
I think what he said and what Omar said about it were both true. Unfortunately we watch those dumb reality shows. Not saying it isn't stack but face it if they can only keep one ( you know to not look as racist) they are going to keep the cash cow. So until we make quality shows the cash cow instead of reality shows we are stuck. And that's sad

Jason Weaver needs a podcast.
Im watching sister sister as we speak ahahahaah. Sister and smart guy was the highlight of saturday mornings
Saturday mornings?!! I'm pretty sure those shows had their main runs on Sunday nights. Lol
JugOnBlast ahahahahhaahhaha heckkk nooo my guy. Sunday nights was wrestling for me my guy.
Nook Guy Watching Sister Sister right now! Lol
AJ Sassy real spit
Facts
"Nah, i wouldn't do it without Tahj. I mean, i wouldn't do it without any of those people........"
I like this guy.
Real
Smart Guy is criminally underrated. Watching it on Disney+ right now brought me back to the good old days when kids and teenagers were actually great actors with good comedic timing. The messages were potent and the writing was timeless...It deserved at least 5 seasons
I’m on the last episode of season 3 now on Disney+ st 6:47 am pumping, and I am just sitting here wondering why’d this show end? I want more, even though I know that’ll never happen 😂
So he got cancelled because of Dawson's creek.
Ryan Martin Underrated comment😂😂😂
Lol basically yeah and other white ass shows
lol
😂
No he got canceled for reruns of Seinfeld, Dawson’s creek actually got The Parkers and Moesha cancelled... sorry for the confusion. 😂🍻
I always thought that they were going to do a Marcus and mo spin off where they go to college.
They were really funny together
Yes they are I’m glad so many think so.
Honestly I always followed there story more than TJ
Yes I said this same thing recently. I've been watching in Disney plus. They was so funny together.
It would have been amazing
U can tell Jason Weaver is a genuinely good guy. They type to give a young lady his cookies when he was in grade school.
“Who’s loving you”
this dude mind is different, he's like a map on how to maintain in a grimy game
Agreed!
Raised in Chicago
I grew up in the 90s watching Jason Weaver on TV those were the good days...😃

I really wanted Smart Guy to last longer than it did. It was one of my favorite shows.
He right about that UPN and WB definitely catered to black people in the 90’s/early 00’s. Aka used us.
Oh that ain't nothing. Fox was home of the black show in the 90's lol. Hell 1994 was known as the massacre of Fox's black sitcoms where four black shows were canned at the same time.
So basically the show ended due to systematic racism
Absolutely!!
easier way to say it.... quicker and more efficient way of putting it....
More white lids than all other kids combined. Numbers
No......
No it ended because they wanted more money it wasn’t about being racist, it was about getting more views to make more money 😒
I’m here after watching Omar Gooding say they were canceled because someone (presumed T.J.) wanted more money.
But according to everyone else is was because of racism.. people just wanna cry about somthing
Same lol
Right and his answer is completely different.
@@spenserh881 , all racists see is racism.
When UPN became the CW damn every "Black" show got canned.
It seem that way, I actually miss UPN sometimes so many great black sitcoms
The WB became CW, not UPN
@@nornay89 yes it did. It replaced both.
London Dorsey oh ok. I thought the UPN became MyNetworkTv but I guess I was wrong
@@nornay89 The WB and UPN combined to become CW. Yet, the black shows from UPN didn't make the cut to be added to the lineup for CW. I remember that well.
I love the fact that he's not some jaded actor. His business was well taken care of and he can live his life on his terms.
Isn’t amazing that all the 90’s-2000s stars say the same things about these networks??? They use us for starter shows then change up smh 🤦🏾♀️
I think what he said and what Omar said about it were both true. Thaj wanting his contract renewed mid season led to it but the network still would've dropped the show due to "change of direction" regardless and had not Thaj did what he did the show would've got canned eventually a year or two anyway.
Jason Weaver Answers are so humbling and true I got to respect the man
JASON WEAVER is a great singer as well🎵🎶🎶
Beautiful voice! Wish he would've put out more music
Jason should be more famous then he actually is bro can do everything this is young mike Jack
So Wb pretty much cancelled all the funny black shows for bullshit like Dawsons Creek and 7th heaven... 🤦🏻♂️
Lmao those shows were horrible
Facts!
Lol
Those shows did well for them lmao 😂
Facts 💯
Wow 😮 I always wanted to know what happened with smart guy and now I know
People sleep on Jason Weaver. He has really done well in this industry, regarding his business sense. His mother did a great job on being invested in his career.
Comedy hype I like your channel. Please do not start cutting off your guest while they are talking. Let them speak!
TorBangz Smi I kept saying to myself hey let him finish
For real!! Let us hear what they have to say!!
I was jus about to say the same thing...
lol I think sometimes it's just so refreshing to hear the ones willing to tell it like it is, especially if you weren't necessarily expecting it, that the interviewers get excited and feel like stating their agreement 😂
RIIIIGGGTTTT!!!!! I said the same thing
Essence Atkins was just on Marlon Wayans TV show and that got cancelled. They always get rid of the good shows but keep those dumb black reality shows going.
Unfortunately we watch those dumb reality shows. Not saying it isn't stack but face it if they can only keep one ( you know to not look as racist) they are going to keep the cash cow. So until we make quality shows the cash cow instead of reality shows we are stuck. And that's sad
@Kay You It was too over the top.
Facts monsterbrandman
@Kay You I agree. Wasn't that funny
Marlon show is funny af
I enjoy hearing Jason’s interviews. He is able to articulate what he is saying that makes it a pleasure to listen to him. I liked the fact that he said he would not want to do a reboot of Smart Guy unless EVERYONE was included.
Jason Weaver makes me want to read books again to extend my vocabulary so I can sound more articulate.
Really😒?
Go for it!!
No reason 2 , slang the best
You can tell this brother is smart, stay blessed king
If they reboot this Marcus should have the genius son and TJ have the Marcus equivalent lol evette and Moe should be together. Just my opinion
Thats actually really good
LETS PUSH IT
Jason Weaver is a great talent. Positive energy, no bitterness, and a great outlook on business. Blessings
Smart Guy was a great show in the 90s it could lasted for a long time I wonder why when we have good television they don’t last long last others.
Great? it was just ok.
Vegas Mitchell that a good point too it sad they do why all them just win same time instead putting one or two good shows at time.
Jasmine B you really need help. Smh
Jasmine B you have a degree and talk crazy to a fellow commentor??
stryfetc1 I said what said nigga u need it with smart ass mouth idgaf I meant that on everything.
I was disappointed too I would’ve liked to see tahj grow up on the show
That's how it should have been. Can you imagine the paths he could have taken as a genius? That would have been really top. But hey, at least we got to see Corey Matthews grow up for six seasons longer on Boy Meets World, am I right.
Jus like Boy Meets World smh

I know they’re glad it was a Disney show. Now it’s on Disney +
Been watching it
It's not on Disney+ tho
This is why WE need our OWN EVERYTHING!!
M E WE had that. It was called segregation. I don’t wanna go back to that
Facts
@@MrAthiestapostle a black wall street wouldn't hurt my feelings or my pocket book right about now. The non inclusiveness that segregation may have brought to us is nothing compared the lack we have in our community's now.

I've listen to many stars past and present speaks on their experiences in the entertainment business, but Jason Weaver is one of many former stars that has explained it so eloquently how this unholy Hollywood Industry operates. Prayers out to you brother.
The interviewer trying to get some "dirt" and Jason is keeping it professional because he still want to work. Lmao
I loved Smart Guy growing up.
Ahhh im just thinking about that Destiny's Child episode lol
Does anyone remember when he sung their group’s song, “Love Always” on Smart Guy? I still love that song 😩❤️
Who Don't ❤ Jason Weaver. He can have a UnderReated, A Unsung, i would watch Jason's show. He a triple threat in the industry.
Yup
i used to have such a crush on him
Aislynn Smith I still do 😂😂😂

Such a great show! I would loooove a reboot!! I loved the response in regards to doing the show with his original cast, that’s loyalty! I loved every single person on the show
Smart Guy was a classic a big part of my childhood
This is the worst interviewer ever. He kept quitting him off after asking him questions.
This interviewer truly sucks not just giving this interview.
