    Most comprehensive review so far! I’m in the market for a Territory and I’ve seen almost all the reviews on TH-cam. You’re the only one that did a detailed explanation of the driving experience on the highway. Especially when you overtook the other car! Thank you 😊

      Yep, the Territory is made in China, but it's the same plant that currently makes the Philippine market EcoSport as well as the Everest and Transit for the Chinese domestic market. In short, Ford didn't just randomly pick a JMC crossover and slap their own badge.☺️ Ford has technology and manufacturing partnerships globally, and while the Territory is a product between Ford and their joint-venture partner Jiangling Motors in China, the design, development, engineering, testing, and drive assessment are all owned by Ford. The design, was done by Ford’s design studio in Melbourne, Australia; testing and validation was done in both Geelong Proving Grounds in Australia as well as in Nanjing, China; and the engine itself, is joint-developed by Ford of Europe and Jiangling Motors. This here is a properly engineered SUV; designed and engineered primarily for the Chinese market, sure, but it’s still a Ford through and through.

    Nice review. Do you know what the infotainment system is? It seems very different to any Ford I know - and very different to Ford's proprietary SYNC system which is used pretty much worldwide.
    Just an interesting tidbit that you may not be aware of - the Territory nameplate was used by Ford Australia on a medium-large RWD/AWD SUV designed and built in Australia from 2004-2016 and sold in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. So as an Aussie, I was interested in checking out what the new one is like (although it is completely unrelated). It's definitely shrunk in size and power, but by the same token, build quality appears to be better and technology is a step up.

    • @KyleLiongCars
      @KyleLiongCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for all the info. Not to sure about the software used in the infotainment system, but as the Territory is a rebadged version of some Chinese branded car, it must be from that brand? Possibly.

    There’s something really odd about the territory. Got to test drive my workmate’s territory and it does not feel like you are driving a ford. The inside weirdly feels low quality. I then found out that it’s a chinese car rebadged and sold here in the PH. That answered why it does not have the “ford” feeling their other cars have.

    FORD TERRITORY had a recall earlier this year because of some issues.
    This car was a rush build to compete against GEELY.
    Even its design is from a chinese car that was just rebadged. It's also fully manufactured in China.
    Might try the future reiteration of this model, but i'm hesitant with the FT as it currently is.
    Also, FORD has a bad reputation when it comes to aftersales. Overpriced and delayed. FORD owners can testify to this.
