    A hutch should never be recommended. Giving a rabbit a huge space (like a play pen or room) shouldn’t be seen as luxury but rather standard.

    Please do not listen to him! 1 - Hutches are WAY too small for any rabbit to live in
    2 - use a water bowl not a bottle as it can cause dehydration
    3 - Rabbits are like cats and will bathe themselves and shouldn't be put in water. They have trouble regulating their body temperature so they can go into shock or get hypothermia if they're put into water. If you want actual advice, go watch Lennon The Bunny
    Edit: this is months ater thanks for all the likes guys :)

    hutches are too small for rabbits, i recommend an x pen if you can’t free roam, theyre way less expensive and more spacious for the rabbit. also they don’t need water bottles, water bottles are uncomfortable for them to use because it puts their head in an un natural position, and they’re not very clean. you can just use heavy bowls for their food and water.

    My pet rabbit has a whole house 😂 she can roam to our living room, or in the ailes, most her favorite place is in the dining area, where her litter box, bowl of water , grass, cabbage, and pellets can be found. She used to lie down besides these as if her personal space 😂. Anyway, I found her relax😂 though sometimes I feared the cat would appear when I accidentally missed to close the door. Love my Rab2 so much, so adorable 😍

      @@vivian.18x47 Cool! Well, the most important thing is doing your own research. I can give you some basic pieces of information, though!
      Enclosure: Rabbits should never be locked up in small cages or hutches! They should have at least 12 sq. inches of floorspace. For a cage, I would recommend either a C&C grid cage or a playpen.
      Diet: You can search up how much food you should feed your rabbit, but it basically just depends on the age. Baby rabbits should eat alfalfa hay and alfalfa pellets, but never feed adults alfalfa; it doesn't provide them with the nutrients they need. Your rabbit should always have access to unlimited hay; it helps with digestion and trims down their teeth. To sum up their diet: lots of hay, leafy greens (spring mix), and pellets.
      Remember that their teeth never stop growing, so provide them with lots of wooden chew toys! I also highly recommend a water bowl instead of a bottle, because rabbits drink a lot of water each day, and bottles usually gets clogged. Bowls are also easier to clean, and they provide the rabbit with a more natural way of drinking!
      Thank you for a reading this, and I hope you take all this information into consider to give your rabbit an amazing life! ❤

  • @aleyasanimals1338

    Hutches actually are way to small, and are actually more expensive then playpens. Playpens give a great amount of space, but free roaming is SO much better!! Do not recommend any hutch, or cage whatsoever.
    Rabbits should use water bowls, and not water bottles because your rabbit can get very dehydrated, and it doesn’t reach your rabbits needs.
    Rabbits should NEVER take baths!! Never ever. Baths are so stressful for a rabbit, it could kill them. The only time you should bathe your rabbit is by your vet.

    NO HUTCHES OR CAGES.... EVER. Go for an EXPen as a last resort. Many people don't know rabbits are easily litter trained if spayed and neutered. So you can easily free roam them in your bedroom if your a child, or around the house if you have no pets.... and they'll go in a litter box. Look at a TH-cam channel called - LennonTheBunny -for a better understanding. She has all the correct rabbit information and will help you tremendously.

    I want to ask few things.
    1. How I teach them to poop and pee at the same spot ?
    2. How to clean their tail? (What to use?)
    3. Mosquitos loves the rabbit blood the most and rabbits can die because of them , how to save them when thy aren't in home but outside cage ? ( They are in outside animal barn lets say , so putting mosquito devices won't help and I live near marshland ... so even tho there were going lot of helicopters and cars to spray against mosquitos it's hard to get rid of them).
    4. I have a big untrained dog , so he is on leash bc we are scared that it will eat or choke the rabbit ,bud maybe not idk how to put them in the same place and not to bother each other....

    • @stellar5034

      If u have big dogs, cats,etc don’t adopt a rabbit… rabbits are predators for them and they can eat them but if u really want to you should give them a separated room and the dog shouldn’t know abt the rabbit and for the poop thing and I really don’t know u can have like a big plastic container and fill it with sand and whenever they poop u put their poop it in the container after that the rabbit will start pooping in the container it takes time for them to adopt it and for the mosquitoes one use a mosquito repellent…

I have him in a play pen and want to take him out to let him run in a bigger dog run I bought him. He lets me pet him but won't let me pick him up to be placed in the dog run. Im thinking I should just pet him more and build more trust??? Suggestions????

    These care tips are highly outdated! Please don't keep your rabbit in a hutch, especially one that is only 80cm! Also water bottles have been proven to restrict the amount of water a rabbit can obtain compared to water bowls. But most importantly never, never bathe a rabbit & never shampoo them. Not only could washing them strip away their natural oils in their skin but placing them in water can also send them into shock & kill them.

      It depends on the animal. I have two cats and a rabbit, all three adopted as adults. The older cat gets along fine with the rabbit, but the other does not. I would never leave a rabbit unattended with any larger animals though.

    • @AnimalWised
      @AnimalWised  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, and to add to Alex's point, the cat's socialization is also very important. If they are introduced properly and have had a good socialization period then it is possible, but you will always need to keep them supervised.

    Most hutches and cages are Way to small a single rabbit Needs at least 5x5 feet or 150x150cm of space at the minimum! Rabbits can easily be litter box trained and free roam your house as long as you properly bunny proff if you can free roam them then give them their own room or buy 2 x-pens and connect then together (2 x-pens are 4 times bigger then a single x-pen when connected) and make sure it's at least 3 feet or 90cm high.
    Never use water bottles they give out too little water at a time use a bowl instead.

    1. Hutches are way to small for rabbits/bunnies even if it is *pet store recommended* (dont take advice from pet stores)
    2. water bottles can make them dehydrated, a heavy water bowl is what is best
    3. Rabbits shouldnt be showered or bathed whether its *cute* or you just want to *try*. Rabbits are just like cats, they can groom themselves, and be potty trained.

    i dont understand why a hutch is soooo bad for them? if it’s a big one, and we let them out most part of the day, is this « not enough »?

    • @jadaderwald8697
      @jadaderwald8697 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ali it is enough in my opinion. I’ve had healthy, happy rabbits for years and I keep mine in hutches. As you said, you do need to make sure you give your rabbit the proper attention

    • @samistrash6262
      @samistrash6262 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, hutches are commonly kept outdoors which is a big issue. They're prey animals and they are frightened easily, so even seeing a predator could give them a heart attack. Not to mention the seasonal temperatures. Rabbits need room to binky and run, and hutches do not provide that space for them. It's just selfish and cruel to stuff them in such a small space. I highly recommend Lennon The Bunny (the youtube channel) for more info.

      @AnimalWised  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can allow them outside. Rabbits are surprisingly tolerant of the cold since they grow a thicker coat in winter. Keep in mind that temperatures below 20 degrees Fahrenheit may be too cold for them.

    Do Not Listen to This Advice !! Instead..
    1) Rabbits should live either in an x pen or free roam a room or home
    2) Do not give your rabbit a water bottle, it is far harder to use for them and this makes them very dehydrated. a regular water bowl works great for all rabbits
    3) Never bathe your rabbits, they groom themselves and because of their complex fur and skin, they should never be submerged in water. if your rabbit is hot, it is okay to dab their ears with cool water.
    Please use these tips instead for they will be much more beneficial !!
