    Drives like a dream, and sooo quiet inside at 60. ☺
    I know I've said it before, but I just love the look of back end of those cars, "Fin A Paloosa" all day...everyday!
    Thanks for taking us along. 😎

      Yes, very surprising to me too. Yes, the rear end is definitely what makes the car. And Im a rear end guy anyway. 😯

    Love it. It rides so quietly inside. I like that. I just picked up my new radiator from Matt's. It looks great with the high efficiency core. They did a great job. Im working on all the engine bay stuff with the engine and tranny out last weekend. Looking forward to the Tahoe Teal color. Say hi to Fat Panda

      Hey Christopher, so you must be in CS too. I just had Matts do the radiator I took out of Mr. Gold because Im going to use that in Mr. Green. Sean is in charge now and this is the first rad I had him do so hopefully the quality has not changed since Matt left. I didnt get the high efficiency core, I just had him put in a fat 3 row so it should be okay. Think about replacing the engine compartment wiring loom, you can get those new. Since you have everything out, now is the time to do that. Fat Panda says meow. Thanks.

    Good drive, Nick. I was shotgun with you.
    With the exception of the GTO, I'm still a lover of the big classics i.e., Oldsmobiles, Buicks, Pontiacs and of course Caddys. In my day they weren't known as classics, they were commonly referred to as "gas guzzlers", especially the huge Pontiacs. They sure would suck up that 24.9 cents a gallon leaded fuel? 😁
    Regards,
    John

      Hey John, my neighbor has a 1962 Starchief and it has the biggest trunk Ive ever seen. Its twice the size of the caddy trunk. Would be great for sneaking into the drive in. You could put about 10 kids back there. I call them tug boats. I love big old smelly cars, the bigger the better. And I love the old smell. But yes they sure do suck the gas. Speaking of gas guzzlers, hows Pearlean doing?

    Hello Nick. So glad you got her running great. It's a land yacht.😅

      Hey George. Yes he is running way better that I could have ever expected. Im very surprised. There are still some issues but one thing at a time. Its at the transmission shop now getting all sealed up and serviced. Next I need to fix the massive oil leak from the valve covers. Thanks.

    I love the car! I have a big 4 door FoMoCo and there's something about the giant cars of that era that I love. I love it also when old cars run smooth and solid. I really look forward to when the driver's side rear door gets replaced. You've probably been asked this a lot...but which Cadillac do you like better?

      Hey Kaye Nine Two, I love the big old smelly ones too. I never liked small cars. I got a replacement door for the drivers rear. Its white. I have to try to somehow match the bad gold paint when I put it on. I guess everyone would like to have a 59 but my favorites are the 48-49's, so cool. Thanks.

    Nick,
    Wow, can’t believe how quiet the caddie rides. No rattles, squeaks, no noise at all! You’ve had some good luck with this one. So, what’s the plan? You gonna keep her?

      @vintagethunderbirdrepair9426  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Gary, yes I was impressed at how nice the car ran and drove, far more than I expected. Im going to keep it for a while but eventually I think Ill sell one or the other. Thanks.

    Nice. Thanks for the ride along. What are you planning to do with the car? Keep? Sell?

    • @vintagethunderbirdrepair9426
      @vintagethunderbirdrepair9426  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey SB, I need to keep it for now because I need it as a reference while Im getting Mr. Green running again. Its always nice to have another car to use as a reference. Mr. Green was invaluable to me for just that reason while I was working on Mr. Gold. I think ultimately Ill sell him and keep Mr. Green. However, that is premature because I don't even know if Mr. Green will run. We will know soon enough. Thanks.

    Nice ride Nic, 😎can you ship to NZ

      Hey Steve, thanks. I guess anything can be shipped to NZ, its just about the money and customs. I have not shipped anything to NZ or Aus before but that's what container ships are for. And today, I hear is quite a bit more expensive than it was yesterday, meaning pre-covid. Thanks.

    She's a grand Dame, I look forward to you doing other things to her. Be warned the interior designers were all about substance but some of those jerks thought very little about ease of putting things together or taking them apart. My 65s door card does not give any kind of reasonable access to remove the interior door latch handle. The padded armrest does not come off to give access to the bolt that holds the handle on. Instead, you remove the chrome holding the window switches. then you can fit a wrench but not your hand or fingers to turn the little bolt that 1/8th of a turn, Putting it back is the real treat! But I can easily take the whole top dash pad off, giving wonderful access to everything. The dash pad guy was the kind engineer. But I'd like to pee on the grave of the guy that didn't want to put two screws holes to remove the padded armrest on the door because it would mar his sleek overdone incorporated door armrest design! I hope for your sake that guy was hired in 65 to vex anyone needing inner door issues on Cadillac's new look for 1965.

      Hey Rockubtzer, I hear ya. On Monday I went back to the wrecking yard to get the drivers rear door I was promised. I had to remove it from the car. Taking the door panel off and then pulling the wiring out of the door was a major pain in the ass and you can clearly see the designers could have cared less about the mechanic. Very poor design. Having worked on this caddy, I know now that the Thunderbird is ten times the car this caddy is. However, I still like the caddy, pretty cool car. Thanks.
