Historically, St Etienne is one of the most important clubs in France. They crushed the French championship in the 60s and 70s and were one of the best teams in Europe in the mid-70s.
In 1976 they reached the Champions League final, which they narrowly lost to Bayern Munich. At a time when France was one of the weakest countries in Europe in football, their epic touched the whole country. After the match, they paraded down the Champs-Elysées as if they had won.
Since then, the club has alternated between the average and the very bad. It has now been in the second division championship since 2022. But the club remains very popular and followed.

Pour les fumigènes ça reste super beau à voir quand c'est utilisé correctement.
