I just purchased a 2016 F150 with Sync 3 without Navigation. How can I install this? Is it an app or can I purchase it somehow?
I have ford escape 2016 with sync 3 i guess, looks identic but i have sync 2 interface, what can i do?

I want to be able to mirror my iPhone on the 2015 Silverado
Ford dumped Microsoft's SYNC2 system and went with Blackberry-developed QNX SYNC3 system. A huge improvement over the Sync2 system. My only issue with this is that Blackberry is on the edge of going out of business and their QNX system is not exactly the modern OS like iOS or Android.
I just bought a 2015 Ford Edge and I'd love to upgrade to Sync3, but don't want to spend that kind of money on the chance that Blackberry goes under and support halts.
I wonder what Sync4 will bring? One can wish.
Ok...you're working with a bit of misinformation here.
1) BlackBerry is not going out of business....at worst (and this won't be at least until probably 2018) they'd go out of the handset business. i.e. no more blackberry devices but their focus right now is becoming a software and services company.
2) The BlackBerry 10 OS (not to be confused with the operating system that was on their BlackBerry Curve, Bold, Torch, etc devices) runs ON TOP of QNX, like how Ford' Sync 3 system runs ON TOP of QNX. What we see is just User interface which uses QNX to interact with the hardware.
3) QNX is a division owned by BlackBerry but is a separate entity altogether. QNX in and of itself is doing really well.....lots of automakers use it to power their infotainment systems, and QNX is used many other industries as well that's why blackberry acquired them in the first place.
Anyways...enjoy your vehicle...kinda debating between an Edge 2016 SEL or Edge 2015 titanium myself but really want Sync 3. I'd say go for the upgrade if you're going to own this vehicle for the next 5-10 years.
