I heard her tell at least 3 different versions of.this song. She said when she first started out, she went to a store called The Velvet Underground. There were flowers painted on the floor, and lace shawls, silk clothes, etc. It was so expensive that the items had no price tags. She vowel to herself she would write at least one song that was a big hit. So.she could buy something there. Lightning struck a few times since then for her. I think over the years the feeling of the song changed for her, like they do for us all.. I like the first story best, it sounds more believable.
