I had a theory ( and I know theories mostly never come true, so I wasn’t expecting to see it ) of how we would go from “ stable “ zombies to the feral monsters of Death Troopers. This would of course only work if they were already dead which was not the case. I thought, what if the Great mothers had reanimated the troopers already, but they were kept human with these red ribbons infused with magick. Their souls being kept in their body. Then, in this Episode, the Great mothers lose focus or have to use their magick for something else… The ribbons fall off, the troopers drop their blasters, grabbing their heads and screaming in agony before all their remaining humanity shuts down and they lunge at our heroes, fully transformed into uncontrolled undead monstrosities
Theyre undead of course... the thing is that they still act really diferent for any zombie the nightsistera ever created, like when reanimated, they woke up as a regular zombie, but it seems like they gain more consciousnes gradually, one of my proofs is they destroy the door with explosives

Except by doing this you'd make this show for adults ONLY. You want to make a show everyone can watch. Not just one or the other. My only complaint with this episode is that in this scene, with four lightsabers between the three of them, there should have been dismembered night-trooper limbs all over the place.
That’s one thing I love about the prequels, the Jedi were able to cut down armies of droids with no worry but almost all other Star Wars material doesn’t have that privilege.

I've always knew the Nightsisters were going to be in live action someday and would be working with the Empire and here we are, seeing Nightsisters' magick allied with Thrawn's troopers

This is an epic scene but the lack of decapitation and flying limbs is strange. Disney+ really holds back on anything gore. The Clone Wars showed the Nightsisters having their arms torn off and used against them.
It's funny because we got 1 decapitation with the undead deathtrooper, but since decapitation is a no no rule at Disney, we only see the head roll, and not the actual beheading

This helps me somewhat solidify my belief that Mando season 4 may be around Blacking. The scratched helmet in the canteen at the end of season 3 and then this from Ahsoka I feel like it could hint/ set up a possible arc on blacking for Mando 4.
We need a Star Wars games with the blackwing virus, expedition on planets / star destroyers with these undead troopers.. an intense and interesting story with drama and hard decisions.. Where the heros develop a antidote against the blackwing virus to save the galaxy from this huge threat.. Sounds too good , to be true..

I've seen some criticism at the intro to this scene as Ashoka deflects the blasters and i agree that she's way too stiff and slow but don't let it detract from the amazing sound design. The way they sound as they scream through helmets with years of use and dwindling supplies for proper maintenance makes them so horrific
You know what the dumbest part of this scene is? The fact that Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine see the Storm troopers are now zombies, they already killed them, and yet the refuse to slice and dice them into tomatoes?! Seriously, are droids the *only* exception?!?!

I mean, the EU death troopers (stormtroopers infected with the Blackwing Virus) were recanonized back in the Star Wars Commander game around 2016 or so. These undead stormtroopers are different from the EU and SW Commander death troopers in that these ones are reanimated by Nightsister magic, whereas the undead death troopers are infected by a deadly virus.
The show I was up and down I didn't really like it but I will say this about the scene I can't imagine the terror these gifted Force users feel that their whole life when they've delivered a strike to a guy they're usually down after that hit a putting a lightsaber through a man's chest ripping it all the way down to his gut and then he just gets back up and tries to kill you that has to be terrifying from a certain point of view
