I don’t care if they were his parents, you don’t take someone’s else personal property
What shameless parents! They stole the tickets never apologized and blamed him for being too cheap to pay for amenities! Then call them to ask for money. I know one thing they would never ever be able to step foot in my home. I don’t entertain thieves.
That part!
Dad: We're family. Family helps family.
Son: Family doesn't steal from family. You figure it out.
Two options. 1/ I would have sued them for the cost of the cruise. 2/ Reported the tickets stolen and pressed charges for the theft.
😠😡😤 they should be ashamed of themselves those in-laws, but I don't care; I'm so glad that she and her husband had made a right choice to cut ties from in-laws and start a new life
Honestly Matt’s parents don’t deserve any forgiveness, they would’ve been thrown in jail for it 😑🤦🏻♀️😓
Yeah!!
Take them to court and make them pay you all back
Press charges. Lock them up
They are acting like freaking spoiled kids, taking property, splurging on a vacation that was not theirs, and expected their own son to help. How old are they?? 5 years old??? They are freaking adults in, what? Their 50's?
Stealing your son honeymoon cruise who does that? Shameless parents well the bills r they karma serves them right so unbelievable
Terrible story…. Every cruise I have been on required id to board the ship.
Not based in USA but in Asian countries 😂
@wendycarter6398 even in Asian countries, you need ID to use those tickets. Passport, Identity card, driver's license, things like that.
Most countries won't let one travel like that without ID
Since their cruise tickets were stolen from them and they were not cheap I’m sure they should’ve filed a police report. Don’t care if it was the parents file a police report. Then the parent should’ve gone back to work paid off the bills and pay them the price of the cruise tickets, and every other thing that they added on top of what they spent. Disgusting disgusting parents unbelievable and then the nerve of them going. Crazy thinking everything was all inclusive and then wanting the son and daughter-in-law to pay for the bills. They accrued on the cruise ship where they were not even supposed to be. Well that’s what you get for being a thief, because that’s what they were. They stole the tickets they needed to be reported to the police for theft. I know they finally went on a honeymoon but it was not what they wanted not what they planned. They enjoyed where they went, but it was not the exciting Mediterranean cruise that they had planned script and saved for, but couldn’t go because of the jack ass parents.
These stories are all the same in people excusing their bad behavior with 'We're family' and woman not straightening out the situation earlier because she wanted to 'keep the peace'.
Do they just let anybody use tickets without proof of identity?
Shorley, the I'd wouldn't match the I'd, and they couldn't use the tickets.
Last time I checked, cruise tickets, airline tickets, many types of hotel reservations,
overnight train tickets, etc. are not transferable just because you show up in possession of them.
Who congers these fairy tales without checking such things?
Yeah I call BS too. Been on nough cruises to know there is no way to have done this without son knowing.
One of God's 10 commandments states: "Thou shall not steal". Enough said!
Agreed
I would not call the police or take them to court..but I would not allow them into your home..they are thieves and they must prove their respect and that they would not steal...
are the parents pirates? they steal? their son's honeymoon tickets? and ruin a lifetime of goodwill and help?
Boundaries are just that, regardless of who violates them. Lousy excuses for parents to make at the expense of the honeymoon of their son and daughter-in- law!
I am sure there must be some legal provision allowing Matt to sue these two.
If such a thing exists, he must do so WITHOUT THINKING TWICE!
I'm calling bull! The cruise line would not just let anyone check in if their details did not match the booking details. Plus OP and her husband decided to wait until after the cruise had departed to see if the in-laws would return the ticket?
Your pardon, seven time cruiser here. There is NO WAY such a scenario could play out. The security procedures for boarding would prohibit, I repeat, prohibit someone stealing your tickets and getting onboard. The check-in procedures alone would quickly identify any subterfuge.
Parents should be happy they didnt sue for the cost of the tickets
What did they think it was included all in the cruise package deal. They are idiots. I would sue them but a waste of money 💰 and time.
Matt's parents deserve the karma that came for them. Susan and Tom should be thankful that Matt and his wife never dragged them too Court over this. Family or not nothing justifies stealing their son and daughter in law.
I don't know what country this happened in but here in the USA cruise tickets are non transferable and you have to show your passport to verify your the ones on the tickets so how did the parents get on board?
This is not reality. You need ID to get on a cruise.
Put all information and receipts in a safe. Lock credit and bank accounts. Make sure your house is guarded when you are on vacation.
Just ring the cruise company and report the stolen tickets. They’ll cancel the lost ones and reissue new ones. The ones Tom and Susan have won’t get them on the ship and might get them a trip to the police station. Bit of a no brainer.
So fake. Boarding a ship is really tightly controlled. You don't just change some ticket assignments.
Or any kind of transnational travel for that matter. Most if not all countries require ID for thar.
How can anyone snatch honeymoon tickets of some newly married couples and keep that for themselves. Do such family members really exist. ?
I'd have had parents sued for theft or fraud since the tickets were in their son's name!😮
So fraud and theft would be worse and you'd be locked up. And the parents didn't even help with the wedding🤔
Nooo you didnt mean to get stuck with a huge bill in the middle of a cruise you stole. You definitely meant to steal the tickets.
Call the time police! They went forward in time, spent 2 weeks on a cruise and got back before their son could call the the next day
OH DUCK NO!! NOT BAILING YOU OUT EVER!! KMA..NEVER!! Too GD BAD!! I DON'T KNOW YOU!!
It doesn't matter how old you are or whose parents you are. You are responsible for your actions.!! There's a good chance. I would get the police involved, but I would definitely cut all ties....
What terrible in-laws! 1 of the 10 commandments clearly says, "Thou shall not steal!" Susan and Tom clearly broke that!
I have known of relatives trying to steal this way. I don’t know if it succeeded or not.
This is obviously B.S. Why wouldn't they immediately contact the cruise company to warn them that the tickets had been stolen? Also, cruise lines check your I.D. before letting you on the ship.
i would have had them arrested for theift on the ship
You should have pressed charges for theft
Some things don't make sense. First and foremost is, I've only been on 1 cruise but, like with an airline ticket, the name on my boat ticket had to match my ID or I wasn't getting on board. Also, at first it was reasonable to think it was an accident since no one went through the brochure while they were all together. So why not either call and get them to come right back or drive to where they are to get the tickets back? How long from when this happened till the boat left dock? If it was the next day, the tickets should have been I the luggage, not the brochure still. If it was more than that, no excuse for not getting your property back. They said they printed the boarding passes. Well, print another set and go on the cruise. I personally would tell my parents in a case like that they not only would have to pay their own bills but they better be able to afford a lawyer as well because if they didn't reimburse me for the cruise, I'd sue their ass.
They shouldn't have been able to use those tickets. They check ID as do trains and airlines.
Id sue.
How did the parents change the names on the tickets, drivers license, and passports in order to board. You can't board the ship without the documentation ?
How did they get on the ship with stolen tickets ? Names wouldn't match ID's...
This story sounds fake. The things people supposedly said just don’t ring true to the alledged events. And why not call parents right away and say, “Hey, you accidentally took our tickets when you grabbed that brochure. I’ll be right over to get them”? That’s normal.
I don’t know why y’all left them out like that if I got tickets to go somewhere I’m going to put it somewhere safe not leave it out like that
How did they get on the cruise when names on documents dont match the i.d
What were the tickets doing with the brochure anyway?
Pure Fiction
😮whoa inlaws TSK TSK 😤
Sooooo I'm only 53sec in but did the parents get false IDs to use those tickets? How were they able to use them? There's a whole checkpoint you gta go thru before you get on the cruise. Similar to the airport. Guess I gta finish this to see how they did it kuz security isn't lax at the port just like its not lax at the airport. 🤷🏾♀️
How can they use tickets that are in someone else's name
how did they get on the shipwith a boarding pass when the names didnt match....
some who i do not think so as a regular cruiser
Is everybody named Emily
Written by someone who doesn’t travel.
This is so freaking fake nobody would sit there and go let's wait till tomorrow when you're supposed to leave early for a trip. To see if they were returning their tickets. People would have gotten their car drove to their parents house and said give us our tickets now. And you know what any normal person that had their parents do this to them. When their parents call and say oh there's all this money. They would have said you stole our tickets you deal with it. And they wouldn't be answering any more calls.
Some ppl don’t want to believe their parents wouldn’t do that..trust me I don’t put nothing pass them.
Fake u can't just use someone else's name on a prebooked trip
All of these are stolen reddit stories 😂and only they use cgi and the same big words that they don't know the meaning of in all of these and it is so pretentious and demeaning it's like they are trying to make the original posters sound stupid and look over dramatic like wtf
And I am I the only one who noticed this and is a little annoyed they could and least change vocabulary and if they are doing this to for preteens they should not even be hearing this kind of content like 5 nights at Freddy's is more appropriate for preteens than reddit stories animated
This story is soooo fake... 🙄🙄🙄 so a cruise doesn't make you settle the bill until the end of the cruise... not during... so they took the tickets and left the same day and called them from the ship complaining about money the same day they stole the tickets? Riiight... and TSA just let them travel with ID that didn't match the names on the tickets? Suuuuure... thumbsdown 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 this story sucks.
Sorry for me 😅That is for their fastness and their selfishness 😅and thier own Jealousy. 😅And greediness 😅
