I would have told my ex mil that I intended to take my entire inheritance to destroy her….then watch that smirk falter. 😊😂. Of course I’d never do that…but she wouldn’t know that. 😂
A work accident does not mean dismissal. The companies insurance will cover the costs for the hospital and rehab. Being fired is illegal, and he could sue them. This is in Australia.
So, arrogant mother-in-law; remaining true to form; instead of embracing the daughter-in-law chooses to dismiss her son's wife from the family thus guaranteeing no access to the funds she inherited? What a moron! Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!!! 🤦♀️ That aside, a very good and different story with exceptional narration which was appreciated and enjoyable. EDIT: Perhaps I'm too soft hearted, but there was one "possible" change OP "might" have considered. Despite the lack of support she received from her ex in the past she "could" have chosen to be the bigger person by giving him a little financial help during his recovery. No, it wasn't necessary of course and he may not have deserved it but considering the surplus of funding she now possessed it would have been the charitable thing to do. (Just saying.)
If you find a wonderful story teller, ask to place a clip on microphone and record the stories. When they do eventually pass away, you will be able to play them back to all the future residents to listen to. Even played to other children who could learn from them.
Good story..so nice to hear that she opened a home for the elderly..what a beautiful ending..thank you author and narrator for a good story ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you
I hate it when People tell you what should be done what is given to you
Inheritance is not split during divorce.
If your husband wants to live with his parents divorce him asap
Same for wives.
Every single time.
Eleanor Rigby?! Not only is the narrator an AI robot, but the old lady 'matriarch' of the home has the name of a Beatles song! 😂
I caught that connection too! 🙂

In the United States also.
It's the same in California too.
I would never put my dad through that.
Me either
Eleanor Rigby?? Really? Smh
“Mrs. Elinor (sp. Sorry) Rigby? Really?? 🙄
Why not divorce before your father had to pay all those bills for your in-laws
Eleanor Rigby. Wasn't she in A Song. ..😅
Eleanor Rigby????
I had to chuckle at "Eleanor Rigby"....... a nod to the Beatles era!!!
Why would you put up with that?
Bulwer-Lytton Purple Prose. Blech.
I don't hate the vultures in this story as much as I hate the godawful writing.
Well the mother thought her son is gods gift to u.should have got rid of both at the start.
I would have told them that she had already denounced the inheritance. Then she can walk away with a divorce.
