Zack saved Rebirth for me and made the slog worth it in the end. He was a primary reason why I played to Platinum. Zack's inclusion is a step in the right direction but let's be honest he was barely playable and only appeared in scarce cutscenes. If Zack isn't fully playable in part 3 with a more relevant role I'll be very disappointed if he just warps in again only for the final battle
I watched all 13+ hours of cutscenes hoping for a Zack and Aerith reunion 😭 He still loves her so much, it hurts! And the subtle sadness in is eyes when Marlene says Aerith has feelings for Cloud... that broke my heart. I hope she finally wakes up in part 3 so they can at least have a conversation 🥺🥺
It makes sense that she's moved on at this point but i can't help but feel so bad for Zack. He and Aerith definitely deserve a reunion. Even if it's not a mutually romantic one. They deserve closure, both of them.
I am happy Zack gets this chance to be alive. I've been a fan of Zack even before he was known, even before he became mainstream. He was even the FF7 character I always use in Ehrngeiz. But the sacrifice for him to live feels heavy. Also this games feels like Chrono Cross.

i think aeris is hopping from dimension to dimension running away from sephiroth after she was killed in the og game using her ancient powers.. thats why it looked like she knows everything thats about to happen and using her soul to jump to multiple bodies from sephiroth who can also jump dimensions hunting her because of maybe jenova.. maybe she is using the life stream to escape into her other self in other timeline.. like sephiroth said to cloud.. the world encompass multiple other worlds or something.. that means sephiroth have been in the timeline this whole time thats why since ff7 remake sephiroth is all over the place.. even in the og game he is always where we dont expect him to be then he just dissapears after making us battle a monster boss..

No. It's meant to highlight the existence of multiverses. When Zack made the crucial choice to go help Cloud instead of Biggs, it created a new alternate reality, as symbolized by the Stamp dog mascot changing again -- from terrier to a pug. It's because the Zack we see who tried to help Biggs is no longer the same Zack who went to question, but another alternate reality version of him. It's all metafiction.

Gonna be honest and say I don't think it was Aerith. Her Whispers are white while the neutral ones that were with the planet are gray. The ones that helped Zack are gray so I think it was either the planet that helped him or somebody else that influenced those Whispers

Yeah that didn't make a lot of sense. I think basically what's happening is the memories/timelines are being jumbled up. When Zack hears about Cloud and avalanche, he's kinda confused and asks Biggs when he met Cloud? Biggs can't recall when he met Cloud. A sign that the timelines have been mixed. The way I see it, Zack is carrying comatose Cloud into a Midgar from a different timeline. Its either that or Nojima got a little confused about what he was writing 😂
This looks like an alternate history that somehow merged cloud never joined the avalanche so why was Aerith red 13 Barrett and Tifa what doing on the highway and how did these three individuals meet without cloud that's a real question we should be asking
To explain what you’re referring to, Zack and Cloud entered a timeline post the whisper battle at the highway. That’s where the game starts. So all those events of remake did happen, but Zack doesn’t know that. And on why they were thrusted into the future. No damn clue they really don’t explain it at all. Or as to why Tifa, Barret, red and Aerith are all in comas or dead there
Probably took place in between the beginning of this and him seeing the report. He likely checked the church the second he got in Midgar and left Cloud outside of it, then roamed around the rest of the sectors trying to find her since she wasn't in the one place he knows her from(nor was she at home).
Zack appearance in integrade is placed on timeline where he chose to save Aerith. He have to choose, 1. Save Biggs, 2. Save Cloud, 3. Save Aerith. When Zack enter Church everyone cry because Aerith already died there.
His reaction to finding out that Aerith loves Cloud now was so great. He thinks back to that conversation as he decides to try to save Cloud's life. What a bro.
Bullshit. That was orchestrated by Sephiroth and you know it. Now that Aerith is dead as well as Zack (in the real world), they will have a reunion in part 3. Meanwhile in the real world, Clound ends up in the final stage of mako poisoning and taken into a medical clinic in Mideel. Cloud's girlfriend Tifa and her comrades head over to Mideel until meets her man... completely messed up until they swallow away into the lifestream. Only Tifa will be saving Cloud by restoring his lost memory that was taken away by his creator Hojo and puppetmaster Sephiroth. And then, Cloud & Tifa share their confessions to each other until they have sex under the high wind before their final battle against the villain who killed Cloud's mother, Tifa's father, and their comrade (and Tifa's roommate/girlfriend) Aerith... the notorious Sephiroth.

Here in the Remake trilogy we don't know if she's alive or dead, but she still loves Cloud. They were hugging and holding hands at the end no matter what the player did.
Personally I thought it was sad but I'm hopeful that Zack will move on from Aerith and take back his life. The Biggs scenes in the reactor give me hope that Zack won't be a total chump going forward in regards to Aerith
I knew they’d do something like this! Zack playable in Midgar, while Cloud and co are exploring the rest of the world. It just made sense. And I bet the people saying Zack wasn’t gonna be playable are feeling pretty dumb right about now.
He is only playable for 20 minutes, most of it against fodder and walking from point A to B. He got no atb/health and doesn't even have command button. His parts are honestly boring, awkwardly paced and a drag.
He never deserved the death he got in crisis core. It still breaks my heart to this day thinking of him overcoming all those hardships only to get rewarded by being killed. I simply cannot accept it 😢
He said in an interview that he had never done anything like this before so he was getting into it and I don't understand that the character of Zack I said give the guy a chance you'll see he'll improve I knew he would
I loved the fact that Square only used Zack sparingly throughout the game, you are always left wanting more until the end, giving you the chance to finally kick some ass with cloud together
It all ties to the reveal that multiverses exist. The Zack who survived and is playable in Rebirth is not the same Zack who died in CC. That's why there's subtle differences.
@@rob40throy I dont think multiverse has got anything to do with difference in their movement, it's more of a creative choice, so it wont seem recycled animation and be more different moves from Cloud, just like Cloud having new moves not in the Remake, and his aerial attack
I think aerith got sent to terrior timeline and cloud seems to have transcended he can perceive everything from all timelines the party cant see Aerith but only he can he is not crazy the scar in sky in terrior timeline he sees it but no one else can

They said they were going to explain more about him and the world in Rebirth but they didn't explain nothing....nearly all the streamers I've seen play the game still don't know who Zack is..
I was thinking the same thing when I said in the comments for some streamers that would be better to play crisis core first before rebirth, and a lot people came saying that i was wrong and everything would be explained in rebirth and Crisis core spoiled cloud confused memories. But here in rebirth the game only implies that zack was aerith lover that she mentioned in the remake there is no more information about him, people that only played the remake are going to be confused without having played crisis core reunion before rebirth.
Well can't really blame ppl. They've been told to play Crisis Core but a lot of them skip it. And since new players think this is a faithful remake, they go into it assuming they don't need to play anything else. The more you play both Remake and Rebirth, the more you realize you sorta need to play og7 and Crisis Core to get a full picture of why the events of this "Requel Trilogy" matter. Obviously Square doesn't want to say that, because it would mean acknowledging this is a sequel to the original, but anyone with a critical thinking mind would realize this is the case. And this is not hate towards Remake/Rebirth. They're Great. But it's important to be realistic and stop pretending this is just a remake.
They do put some exposition with Gongaga. You actually meet Zack's parents, see flashbacks and hear references from Cissnei, Aerith, Tifa, and Yuffie (though she doesn't mention Zack's name).
I'm so disappointed, bringing him back is just "pure fan service". And the marketing with him was to pander to us Zack fans. Literally hype us up, just for 1 hour with him in a 40 hour main story game...
I say we experienced 4 alternate Zacks. One was sent to a timeline where Advent Children is taking place. 2nd Zack meet up with Biggs. Third Zack went to Shinra HQ looking for Hojo. Fourth Zack meets up with Remake Cloud to fight Post-Advent Children Sephiroth.

@clientlee991 basically sense in Remake they killed the Whispers controlling time. They allowed for other time lines to sprout. Basically there's multiple time lines, one where Zach lived, one where only Biggs is alive in the gang, and then the one we see with Cloud and his party. Zack is alive with Cloud in a alternate time line. But Cloud is the nexus being along with Aerith and Sepiroth. They all see all timelines at once. What Sepiroth wants to do is combine all the time lines at one time and feed on the energy. What I believe will happen in Part 3 will be this will happen but Zack and the Aerith who didn't die as the timelines split will come over after they defeat Sepiroth. They also are supposed to connect 3 to Advent Children, and I hope they make that like a Epilogue or something like Intergrade.
Because Japan can't just remake an amazing game, they want to make something new too. I'm not a dan of the changes... but at least we still get to see these scenes in HD.

So there was a third timeline, that generated when Zack had to make a choice between going to reactor 6 or going to talk to Hojo (when he went to talk to Biggs he didn't have Aerith's band in his hand...)
Yes, the ribbon is symbolic that Zack is processing the heartbreak and trying to move on from Aerith. His first choice was still to do what's best for Aerith so he goes to cure Cloud. After he died going for Hojo he threw away the ribbon and went for Biggs instead after he continued on in the next world. When Zack dies and a world ends his consciousness carries over to the next branch. So he knew that after Biggs died that it was pointless to confront the Shinra troopers again. He simply jumped over the rail back into the lifestream
No he wasn't this is an alternate history the arbiter of Fate was attempting to correct and the avalanche team destroyed him before he complete that attacked transferring back to the future and Cloud never joins avalanche because he still suffering from Mako poisoning because that cloud from the past has been sent to the Future and history screwed

Timeline, where one Zack is dead and the other when he is still alive. It seems they decided to give the fans a unique twist. Since some believe he should have been alive a long time ago since it's been proven in previous games of certain individuals who were supposed to be dead. We're still alive and could have contributed to Zach's life. I guess the game of this franchise is gonna give us a unique adventure where we decide as a Player, and the choices we make that can make a unique conclusion.

"Wow he carried his friend who saved him and the whole world, what a good guy he is by not abandoning him as a lab rat for inhuman experiments" Cloud saved Zack and Tifa in Nibelheim and the whole world, Zack helped Cloud escape. It was a trade. People act like it was generosity but it was the bare minimum for what Cloud did. And Cloud can in fact defeat Sephiroth, he did it 2 times already. Cloud is the protagonist and the hero while Zack is just a plot device.

When Zack made the crucial choice to go help Cloud instead of Biggs, it created a new alternate reality, as symbolized by the Stamp dog mascot changing again -- from terrier to a pug. It's because the Zack we see who tried to help Biggs is no longer the same Zack who went to question, but another alternate reality version of him. It's all metafiction.
Oddly, he appears to be riding a different bike when he arrives to fight Hojo's troopers than the one he was riding in the tunnel

Yeah that didn't make a lot of sense. I think basically what's happening is the memories/timelines are being jumbled up. When Zack hears about Cloud and avalanche, he's kinda confused and asks Biggs when he met Cloud? Biggs can't recall when he met Cloud. A sign that the timelines have been mixed.
The way I see it, Zack is carrying comatose Cloud into a Midgar from a different timeline. Its either that or Nojima got a little confused about what he was writing 😂
This looks like an alternate history that somehow merged cloud never joined the avalanche so why was Aerith red 13 Barrett and Tifa what doing on the highway and how did these three individuals meet without cloud that's a real question we should be asking

To explain what you’re referring to, Zack and Cloud entered a timeline post the whisper battle at the highway. That’s where the game starts. So all those events of remake did happen, but Zack doesn’t know that. And on why they were thrusted into the future. No damn clue they really don’t explain it at all. Or as to why Tifa, Barret, red and Aerith are all in comas or dead there
Confusing. So what was Zack's appearance in intergrade all about?
Probably took place in between the beginning of this and him seeing the report. He likely checked the church the second he got in Midgar and left Cloud outside of it, then roamed around the rest of the sectors trying to find her since she wasn't in the one place he knows her from(nor was she at home).
Zack appearance in integrade is placed on timeline where he chose to save Aerith. He have to choose, 1. Save Biggs, 2. Save Cloud, 3. Save Aerith. When Zack enter Church everyone cry because Aerith already died there.

Bullshit. That was orchestrated by Sephiroth and you know it. Now that Aerith is dead as well as Zack (in the real world), they will have a reunion in part 3. Meanwhile in the real world, Clound ends up in the final stage of mako poisoning and taken into a medical clinic in Mideel. Cloud's girlfriend Tifa and her comrades head over to Mideel until meets her man... completely messed up until they swallow away into the lifestream. Only Tifa will be saving Cloud by restoring his lost memory that was taken away by his creator Hojo and puppetmaster Sephiroth.
And then, Cloud & Tifa share their confessions to each other until they have sex under the high wind before their final battle against the villain who killed Cloud's mother, Tifa's father, and their comrade (and Tifa's roommate/girlfriend) Aerith... the notorious Sephiroth.

Personally I thought it was sad but I'm hopeful that Zack will move on from Aerith and take back his life. The Biggs scenes in the reactor give me hope that Zack won't be a total chump going forward in regards to Aerith
I knew they’d do something like this! Zack playable in Midgar, while Cloud and co are exploring the rest of the world. It just made sense. And I bet the people saying Zack wasn’t gonna be playable are feeling pretty dumb right about now.

He is only playable for 20 minutes, most of it against fodder and walking from point A to B. He got no atb/health and doesn't even have command button. His parts are honestly boring, awkwardly paced and a drag.

I was thinking the same thing when I said in the comments for some streamers that would be better to play crisis core first before rebirth, and a lot people came saying that i was wrong and everything would be explained in rebirth and Crisis core spoiled cloud confused memories. But here in rebirth the game only implies that zack was aerith lover that she mentioned in the remake there is no more information about him, people that only played the remake are going to be confused without having played crisis core reunion before rebirth.

Well can't really blame ppl. They've been told to play Crisis Core but a lot of them skip it. And since new players think this is a faithful remake, they go into it assuming they don't need to play anything else. The more you play both Remake and Rebirth, the more you realize you sorta need to play og7 and Crisis Core to get a full picture of why the events of this "Requel Trilogy" matter.
Obviously Square doesn't want to say that, because it would mean acknowledging this is a sequel to the original, but anyone with a critical thinking mind would realize this is the case.
And this is not hate towards Remake/Rebirth. They're Great. But it's important to be realistic and stop pretending this is just a remake.
They do put some exposition with Gongaga. You actually meet Zack's parents, see flashbacks and hear references from Cissnei, Aerith, Tifa, and Yuffie (though she doesn't mention Zack's name).
For someone who is on the front cover. I expected a lot more than many walking simulators and 2 fights and a tutorial fight.
I'm so disappointed, bringing him back is just "pure fan service". And the marketing with him was to pander to us Zack fans. Literally hype us up, just for 1 hour with him in a 40 hour main story game...

@clientlee991 basically sense in Remake they killed the Whispers controlling time. They allowed for other time lines to sprout.
Basically there's multiple time lines, one where Zach lived, one where only Biggs is alive in the gang, and then the one we see with Cloud and his party. Zack is alive with Cloud in a alternate time line.
But Cloud is the nexus being along with Aerith and Sepiroth. They all see all timelines at once. What Sepiroth wants to do is combine all the time lines at one time and feed on the energy.
What I believe will happen in Part 3 will be this will happen but Zack and the Aerith who didn't die as the timelines split will come over after they defeat Sepiroth.
They also are supposed to connect 3 to Advent Children, and I hope they make that like a Epilogue or something like Intergrade.

Yes, the ribbon is symbolic that Zack is processing the heartbreak and trying to move on from Aerith. His first choice was still to do what's best for Aerith so he goes to cure Cloud. After he died going for Hojo he threw away the ribbon and went for Biggs instead after he continued on in the next world. When Zack dies and a world ends his consciousness carries over to the next branch. So he knew that after Biggs died that it was pointless to confront the Shinra troopers again. He simply jumped over the rail back into the lifestream

Timeline, where one Zack is dead and the other when he is still alive. It seems they decided to give the fans a unique twist. Since some believe he should have been alive a long time ago since it's been proven in previous games of certain individuals who were supposed to be dead. We're still alive and could have contributed to Zach's life. I guess the game of this franchise is gonna give us a unique adventure where we decide as a Player, and the choices we make that can make a unique conclusion.

Cloud saved Zack and Tifa in Nibelheim and the whole world, Zack helped Cloud escape. It was a trade. People act like it was generosity but it was the bare minimum for what Cloud did.
And Cloud can in fact defeat Sephiroth, he did it 2 times already. Cloud is the protagonist and the hero while Zack is just a plot device.

The writer, cloud never trained to use a sword but knows how to use somehow, the writers give power to cloud to do things but logically makes no sense, that why he always have a party with him. and hojo and shinra saved both cloud and zack.
