My wife and I just started watching these movies this summer for the exact same reason, because we thought Hobbs and Shaw looked fun. I'm blown away with how fun these films have been. And I remember thinking in the 6th one, when did Luda become the tech guru? Also, we did start the drinking game of whenever someone mentions "family"... so we've been drunk a lot. Great video.
@@Dicecubes I mean... dunno 'bout you, but the true love story in the first film is Dom/Brian. It's only the fourth movie onwards, which is where the revisionism starts by changing up the main character status from "good driver but otherwise mortal" to "god of the streets" that we see the Dom/Letty and Brian/Mia romances start to actually work.
As someone who loves car culture i sometimes struggle to enjoy these movies. But they’re basically superhero movies but the cars are an extension of the character and their powers. Plus some of the designs are super rad. Like Doms charger they dropped out of the air plane was running on a trophy truck suspension which is beyond cool.
I usually agree will agree with Marcus on his opinions on movies but not this one, as a car enthusiast, I cannot enjoy these new movies cause they just become generic action movies and keep moving away from car culture. Even though some the action is pretty cool they forget about the most important aspect about fnf which are the cars and the cars used to be iconic and like characters in the movie, but now there just props for another action scene. Well, car guys are the minority and can’t be catered to keep the franchise going. At least other people got what they wanted.
@@diveshwarsaravanan1355idk man as someone who loves cars i gotta appreciate that pretty much every action scene involves cars in some way. It might not be the point of the films anymore but I'm glad the cars are still here
O K it’s definitely a terrible change for us car guys, these slow boys just eat up the shitty cash grabs year after year. The series very obviously should’ve ended when Paul died, but even then it was starting to turn into a cash grab.

And not because I was into sports, I was into Hot Wheels and Matchbox when I was a kid, as well as Need For Speed, Midnight Club, Initial D, and F-Zero, because I'm a fan of everything vehicle based. I especially like over the top action, hell I'm a big fan of all kinds of action movies.

No. Bollywood goes wayy over the top. A character in Bollywood wouldn't need 6 infinity stones to snap the ENTIRE universe away and come off it without a drop of blood
The fact that everyone becomes best buds with Jason Statham in F&F8 makes the entire plot of F&F7 pointless. But I guess plot is not why people watch these movies.
This dude has so many random ass deep dive videos and I love it! Every few weeks a new one gets recommended to me after I thought I’ve seen all of them I each one gets goofier, I love it!
Hell yeah because that's the only movie that actually gives an explanation of cars & drifting technique. Plus it has training montage & master who's dead by the end which makes it the most anime out of all the franchise
one of the best in the franchise for han alone. such a good character that they made fast 4, 5, and 6 take place (chronologically) before tokyo drift, just so han could be in it
I love a movie that is (now as of a decade-old retcon) set in 2014 but makes you feel Tokyo is somewhat retro with their 2006 fashions and flip-phones.

Oh you know that’s gonna happen
Realistically, that will probably happen
Tokyo Drift is just a live-action Initial D without eurobeat
0:44 Everything about this part is so accurate it hurts.
I’ll never forgive Marcus for calling it “Car-Fu” instead of *CARATE*
My wife and I just started watching these movies this summer for the exact same reason, because we thought Hobbs and Shaw looked fun. I'm blown away with how fun these films have been. And I remember thinking in the 6th one, when did Luda become the tech guru?
Also, we did start the drinking game of whenever someone mentions "family"... so we've been drunk a lot. Great video.
Fast is just dumb but that’s what makes them great
Manly over the top bravado
Feels slow in the first arc
Bombastic fighting techniques
Is this the Jojos of Hollywood
I guess so
It’s not gay enough yet
Joesph: *Probably not*
@@Dicecubes I mean... dunno 'bout you, but the true love story in the first film is Dom/Brian. It's only the fourth movie onwards, which is where the revisionism starts by changing up the main character status from "good driver but otherwise mortal" to "god of the streets" that we see the Dom/Letty and Brian/Mia romances start to actually work.

All time line in film. Straight up the hardest I have ever laughed in a theater.
Sounds like you didn’t struggle to like the franchise! 😄
It might not be the point of the films anymore but I'm glad the cars are still here
I can see that, although the cars are honestly not that interesting anymore, imo they're not really iconic or even that memorable.
It went GTA --> Saints Row in just 4 movies. It was/is a good change.
It's a terrible change
O K it’s definitely a terrible change for us car guys, these slow boys just eat up the shitty cash grabs year after year. The series very obviously should’ve ended when Paul died, but even then it was starting to turn into a cash grab.
And then it went gta online
C x 3 It went GTA, CHINATOWN WARS, GTA 2, GTA 3, VICE CITY, SAN ANDREAS -> GTA 4, GTA 5,
In 3.5 movies prox.
Pequeño Perezoso reverse that, and you’d be correct. The quality of these movies has done a complete nose dive since the 4th-5th.

Man, I didn't even consider this as basically anime until you pointed it out. You so right about that.

I can't wait for the Area 51 raid documentary to come out. I feel like it'd have a F&F vibe to it.
I haven't heard about this, who's making it?
Spencer M it will happen, it just doesn't have an official announcement coming from anyone yet, but I imagine someone would at least try to document the results, maybe mr beast.
"These movies are anime", this is the conclusion I could never arrive on my own to justify my love for these movies. Thanks a lot, Marcus!
I feel I’ve just reach full enlightenment

thank you so much for introducing me to the franchise lol
i do NOT regret it
just finished all of em before f9 comes out
“They knew exactly what they are doing (when making these films)”
My thoughts exactly. Thanks for the affirmation. Also, ‘car-fu’ is the most perfect way to describe these movies. They’re so awesomely bad, I love them. Glad you do, too.
I've been a fan for over 10 years.
Car-fu was from the 2008 Speed Racer movie
Source - I beat the Wii game on every difficulty
I am so sad for the people who can’t enjoy such dumb fun action movies like F&F
So many people are hammering the series now... do they not understand they're supposed to be outrageous? Sucks to be them
I just don’t understand why people don’t want to just have fun. Not every movie needs to inspire you or make you cry the house out. Just enjoy yourself for once

*YIKES*
Didn't Han get Blown up by Jason Stathom? Still immune to car accidents.
The fastchise is just the Bollywood version of the MCU
Change my mind
But much worse
@Vatsal Ambaliya Then this franchise what?
@Vatsal Ambaliya The bollywood movies what?
No no it is not lmao
Didn't you pay attention to this video?? In anime it's common for the protagonist to at least befriend one enemy.

I like Tokyo Drift
Hell yeah because that's the only movie that actually gives an explanation of cars & drifting technique. Plus it has training montage & master who's dead by the end which makes it the most anime out of all the franchise

So do I
one of the best in the franchise for han alone. such a good character that they made fast 4, 5, and 6 take place (chronologically) before tokyo drift, just so han could be in it
I love a movie that is (now as of a decade-old retcon) set in 2014 but makes you feel Tokyo is somewhat retro with their 2006 fashions and flip-phones.
When I first watched 2 Fast 2 Furious, I was like: "Why's Paulie talking all "Cuz" 'n' stuff, since he wasn't like that in the previous flick. And "The street always wins." What? How? How can "The Street" win? What if a street goes up against another street? Will the world implode leading to the collapse of reality and the disruption of the space-time continuum?
"When ever Hobbs say something ridiculous." Why am I in the hospital from alcohol poisoning?
That sounds like something he would say
Now that you mention it, describing it as anime is perfect! We need more stuff like this!
I'm kinda the opposite of you. I grew up on NFS Underground 2 so tuner cars are closer to my heart than outrageous action.
This comments is a win in my books. Definitely prefer the pre Fast Five era of F&F for the very same reason.
