My wife has a 2010 Lexus IS 350 convertible that's going strong. Really strong.
Unfortunately, the time has come for reupholstering the driver seat as it had a quarter size hole in it from the constant heat/cool and general wear. No such problems in the 2009 Lexus RX 350. That leather is amazing.
Aside from basic maintenance it's been bulletproof. Not a single problem.
Just did the transmission flush at 95k miles and will be doing an extensive maintenance overhaul as preventive maintenance.
Spark plugs, oil change, water pump, radiator fluid, oil change, shocks, and new LEXUS leather interior as a Christmas gift for my wife. It'll be literally a new car. She absolutely loves that car.
When the LC 500 convertible comes out I'll be there. Another surprise for her on our 20th anniversary. We'll give our current one to our daughter.

Lexus is much more quality of works than MB and BMW by far.
Lexus are the highest quality vehicles in the world.
The Japanese have a level of dedication, one might call it honor, to pursue perfection. Just look at any aspect of Japanese culture and you see "relentless pursuit of perfection." And no, American assembly lines couldn't hope to look so clean, professional or efficient...too many labor union rules to protect the workers from that.
Who ever says Lexus are cheap quality obviously has never even been close to a Lexus.. The exterior of Lexus are of the highest quality known to automobiles, their tight panel gaps and their neat panel gap consisitency throughout the exterior (German cars have poor build quality) and the interior of Lexus are on a class of their own they have superior interior design and quality
You're very lucky. Not everyone has experienced this problem but it's a big one that many have faced. there's also the metallic clacking noise at startup others experience but I haven't on my ISx50. The rattles and squeaking issue is caused by clips and screws that were loose and or the insulation in the dash used in the factory would shrink when the weather got cold BUT wouldn't expand back to normal when the weather got warm. I have brought my car in for it but the rattles/squeaks are back
I love my 2nd gen IS 250 I would buy it brand new with 0 miles over the newer models with that hideous grille

lol I DID take it in. I'm scheduling for them to do it again since the squeaks and rattles came back. I hope this time it'll go away once and for all. The Lexus ISx50 is such a great car ^^
Lexus did a great mistake to cut the GS or better to say the famous V6/Hybrid from european market ! On german highways the GS450h was the best , fast car with superb fuel consumption !! Now this small 4cyl/Hybrid are much to underpowered !! My old RX450h is good but on Autobahn you need a fast Limo Hybrid not to big like the LS or ES, The IS would be perfect BUT with the V6/Hybrid option !!!

@abpewubrdumbledore I happen to be German and disagree 100%. If they didn't make as good of vehicles, then why are both companies going to outsell Lexus this year in the USA for the first time in over a decade?? I think that says a lot, especially considering Mercedes and BMW usually cost more than Lexus.
i wonder if americas Big 3 builds cars this way :p

Actually you are very wrong rudder, Mercedes effectively made the first internal combustion driven motor vehicle in the late 19th Century. Read a book. Then you can make informed comments instead of looking foolish.
@tomigun01NZ ok, tell me what is cheap in a mercedes? I can tell you that the cocpit of an Lexus one of the cheepest things i ever see. Thre is plastik everywhere, thousands of buttons, it smells like glue, and it simply looks HORRIBLE!!

that was 11 years ago and now our german brands deliver all high performance PlugInHybrid versions with Lithium battery while Lexus/Toyota stuck with their old fullHybrids with MH battery, average fuel economy and only worse performance.
yeah lexus in not BMW, lexus is comfort, high quality, for me quality is everything that I need from my investment to the car, I have BMW and believe me BMW-is the most Rubbish quality car ever made on Planet earth, tons of continious problems , constant brakes, crap suspension, crap electrics and electronics, very cheap interior materials used, cheap plastics everywhere

Ha ha, Japanese cars conquer nothing. Germans invented the automobile and continue making the best cars in the world. True that historically Japanese cars have had better reliability, but this is only because their premium brands are essentially their value brands with nice interiors. Lexus=nicer toyota. The Japanese are the biggest copy cats in the world, the same way they copied british motorcycles.
