Sold both my Rolex’s, bought a beautiful Omega and spent the rest of the money on an incredible trip to Cancun. Screw Rolex
I once had an incredible trip, but I've stopped taking that stuff now.
I did similar. Just without the need to sell my Rolex pieces.
Bought an Omega. Still own my Rolexes, and took my family on an incredible trip to Bali. Maybe stop complaining about Rolex and focus on your finances and you be able to enjoy both instead of having to sell your assets to go on holiday.
@@o0MadHouse0o you completely missed the point of the post.
@@m.charrondidn’t miss anything. I smell bullshit.
Haven't watched in a while and wow your voiceover skills have really improved. Well done! 👍👍
Grand Seiko
Yes!
I was never attracted to the Daytona but the Zenith really spoke to me. I may be in the minority, but the tricolor overlapping subdials makes all the difference.
2+ years later, still in my honeymoon phase with this watch.
same here ⚪️⚫️🔵
Getting my two-tone Chronomaster next week!
On My Short list, Within the next 6 months I will own the Zenith Chrono Sport. Absolutely love that watch. Has been for last year or So.
I loved my Chronomaster but
only sold it because it was high maintenance
@@Paul-tk2my please tell me about that. Did it stop working?
I have a steel Rolex Datejust 41 with a plain bezel and a Sinn 556i. The Sinn easily gets 10x more wrist time than the Rolex.
The Blancpain is light years ahead of the Submariner
Omega, Blancpain, & I’d even go so far as to include Breitling as more worthwhile … comes down to opinion.
Another top job Tom. I have an old Globemaster Pie Pan dial in blue that I think is brilliant. The fluted bezel is a finer pitch than the Datjust made of tungsten if I recall correctly so it's harder to ding. I've not see another one in real life out in the wild and I'll be keeping mine for as long as I can. I still want a Datejust at some point but I can wait.
The answer, as always, is that you should buy ME a Rolex.
Im not a "diver". I went for the Datejust instead. A 16233 in 18k/stainless, with a blue vignette, and diamond, dial. My wife says its the most beautiful watch in my collection. I feel my 18k Omega DeVille Chronoscope is. Both, get decent wrist time.
Nice video! I think the Tudor Big Block (i know vintage wasn't considered, but still) or a Tentagraph deserve some mentions.
Good stuff. Especially enjoyed the VC suggestion: I recently got an Overseas and absolutely love it. Full dress would be phenomenal. It's tricky if you are aiming for perceived status: got to be a watch people recognise but not too common...
nope. far better available for the money
Yep, anything Omega, I can get a Moonphase speedmaster for $6K out the door and no bullshit on how I need to be on "the list".
The bezel of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms resembles the black inner tube from a car tire.
Maybe that's why I like it. It's how I roll.
@@Paddythefriendlykiwi Good for you, defending what you like. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Doubtlessly, I love some watches that other people hate.
Your showing a Blancpain 40mm case limited edition to only 500 pieces which no one can get show the new 42mm in Titanium 23 which I just received last week, that's a winner.
Another excellent video.
Buy any of these not as Rolex alternatives, buy them only if you love what you are buying.
excellent choices Tom,, Speedmaster .. honestly the only Rolex that appears to me is the Sub.. am over the others
Great video Tom, watches worth considering and great watches in their own rights!
Grand Seiko is my grail brand.
I'd put my Carl f. Bucherer ScubaTec with gold bezel up against that SM any day.
There are only three Rolex watches which would appeal to me. The Oyster perpetual, the 1908 and the Cellini.
I do not want a Rolex. For the most part they look nice and are built well. The issue is the price and the hype. Even the best Rolex has finishing more like that of a $5k watch. Plus wearing one makes you look like you're not really a watch enthusiast - which is fine if you're not. Tudor is much better positioned but still not for me. If you want to buy a hype watch just to impress people, get a Nautilus which actually has substance and quality. But you're not really an enthusiast if you derive your enjoyment of a watch (car, tech, etc.) from how much other people desire it.
Can’t go to the shop to get a 42 mm blancpain ff just like rolex
See the gmt hand flaw with the red paint are you kidding me??
289 years....
Nah .. i'm STILL LOVIN' mine OP :)
wanted a rolex found out its 3.6 million indian rupees. said fuck no now i want finacial stability and now saving for grand seiko.
Yes!
A VC is the same price as the 1908? He should not be taken seriously who chooses the latter.
Tudor, no, Omega no, JLC yes.
Grand Seiko?
Cmon man the Submariner is an order of magnitude lower quality than a Fifty Fathoms. I get it, Rolex is #1 in market share but man people confuse mindshare for true objective quality.
Sure you might like the Sub design more but that’s subjective. The vast quality difference between the two is objective.
Well the FF should very well be better quality than the Rolex Sub if it costs what? At least $6 grand more than the Sub (retail)? I know you could get the standard 5015 FF for very steep discounts, probably cheaper than a Sub, and that’s cool if you have the wrist for it. The 40mm limited edition ones, you’d probably be paying at least $20k in the secondary market. I haven’t tried on the new 42mm ones, but even those are double the price of a Sub. Maybe better to wait for those to hit the secondary market, or still keep waiting for a non-limited 40mm FF.
I want a Tag Heuer
Everyone wants a Rolex?
I beg to differ.
The most bizarre thing about a watch named "Globemaster" is that Omega has never made it a GMT. So lazy, a missed opportunity. Asleep at the wheel.
I would never downgrade to another brand. I'll stick with Rolex.
Downgrade... It depends from which perspective. Surely from the status symbol one, not quality and horology. In this case the Blancpain FF is way over Rolex by light years.
🎣 😂
@@stupidocanerosa The FF is one of the less serious Submariner homages, especially with the garishly large size and 5 dollar nato strap.
@@ListenToPowerViolence 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The Fifty Fathoms a Rolex Submariner homage 🤣🤣🤣🤣 do yourself a favour: Baruch, dear friend, do your homework so in the future you'll avoid to make fool of yourself.
Why not upgrade to a Vacheron Constantin?
Amei todas as bolsas lindas e de muito bom gosto.Parabens #nkuwan 😘😘
Everyone can build a godlike watch
But the do it consistently throughout ages
Like, hmm, Breitling? Omega? Patek Philippe? Jaeger le Coultre? Blancpain? Casio? Vacheron Constantine? Girard Perregaux? Breguet? Panerai? Audemars Piguet? Seiko?
Rolex buyers have the unfortunate reputation of being prey to the massive marketing - and the price they've paid prooves that. Everyone knows Rolex's overinflated price is largely based on media hype and "must have" friendly recommendations. Remember - before all that Rolex submariner was selling for $90-$160 which with the inflation is $1,440 in today's money. Do the math. And Yes- It's a good watch but the list of better watches is massive.
Rolex try to keep the flippers out of the picture but a lot of their watches are sold on the grey market at vastly inflated prices not by Rolex's choice.
Wanted a Rolex. Couldn’t afford it. Got a Panerai 112. Still wanted a Rolex. Bought an Omega Planet Ocean. Still lusted for a Rolex. Got a BlackBay. Twice. Not quite a Rolex. Sold 112 and PO, picked up a PAM Submersible 683 and was gifted an Omega Seamaster 300m. Rolex still in my sights but waitlist up to wazoo. Sold 683 and enjoyed my other watches for the time being.
Finally talked to my AD and put my name on the list for an SS sub. 2 years passed. Got some watches in between. October 2023, GOT THE CALL! Not quite the SS but a two-tone submariner! Sah-weeet! Just in time for my 50th bday (2025).
Since then, I’ve picked up an Oris, a Movado, a Citizen, another Tudor.
It never ends. But now I have my Rolex :)
Planet ocean is way better than any rolex from any point of view. Design, weight, material, movement... another league.
So a substitute for a Sub is a $15K Blancpain? Lol 😆 could have went grey and got the Sub for that! Tudor monochrome would have been a better choice!
You didn't get it right. The title says "Tired of Rolex". That means also the Tudor ripoff.
Yu could comment the relation between rolex and corrupt politicians, like my president in Perú 😂😂 Also the ex intelligence assesor from Fujimori pressident.
Why bother with a Rolex when you can get a JLC, Omega, Zenith, and a few others for half the price. With more complications...

Fifty Fathoms all life!!! Especially the new 42mm full titanium!
Near perfect but no micro, DAMNIT
@@Leftystrat what do you mean "no micro"?
Never buy an alternative. Buy an iconic watch instead like a Moonwatch, Reverso or Cartier Santos, all of which have no alternative.
It's funny because the Submariner was born as a cheap alternative to the Fifty Fathoms.
@stupidocanerosa It's not that way anymore. People don't care about your watch nerd stuff.
@@overman2306 That doesn't change facts and enlighten ignorance. As simple as that.
Try to make a short
I can TRULY say I've never wanted a Rolex. They're pretty basic watches for huge price points. There are plenty of watch companies that are affordable and even better than Rolex imo. Like vintage Zodiac watches. 36000 beats per hour, fancy lugs, dive watches, dials that have multiple functionality, chronometer, chronograph etc. Rolex I've never even considered because I do know about such watch companies and their histories and watches they've made
Haha. I laught a lot. Thx
I'd exercise caution if you have an itch for a Rolex. I say this, because if you really want a Rolex sub, but buy a Tudor…a little voice in your head is gonna keep that need to scratch the itch alive. Its probably better to buy the Rolex, its the most available watch for any model, thousands on chrono etc, and see if that is what you really want. If not, you will get most of your money back minus dealers margin if you choose to sell. Rolex are not rare, or hard to get, just expensive.
There are other great brands, but as complement to Rolex not as alternative. Ultimately, nothing beats Rolex imho.
Omega, Grand Seiko hands down make a better watch than Rolex. Rolex is all about ego.
except a Seamaster
Statistically there are a ton of brands that make far more money per watch sold than Rolex. But yes for middle-class normies nothing beats having a stranger think you’re cool because you have a Rolex on your wrist.
@@JackoWillMakeLives-loveu couldn’t care less what others think. Rolex are class watches. Tough, reliable & make for the perfect daily/beater watches. Most who hate on Rolex do so as they can’t afford one or never get the call.
@@KeepingWatchUKYou couldn’t care less what others think? So why on earth are you posting comments on here? 🤦🏻♂️
Love or hate Rolex. They will always be the Zero on the Celsius scale. A brand can be better or worse, but will always be judged against it....
Go Rolex or go home
I’m home.
Home thanks. Screw Rolex
I like how the rebuttals to this guy's comment have more likes than his comment does.
@@kirkwcowgill
Some one said it, screw Rolex.
Rolex is a classic design no doubt. San Martin and Pagani make very nice Homage versions, since most people don't ever dive in anything more than a swimming pool.
Since China can copy any Rolex with ease for a fraction, it is obvious that Rolex is nothing more than an overpriced Hype.
All watches are made with computer controlled machinery anyway.
Overrated.
Everyone should buy at least one Rolex. If you can't afford one don't be a hater, buy a Tudor instead. Hans Wilsdorf thought of everything, even making a brand for the poor people.
No.
Rolex is Rolex. Nothing else matters. Simple as that. Buy a Rolex. Or save to buy the Rolex. It’s pretty simple.

Absolutely!!
@@BAF605 you just gotta do it 🤷🏻♂️ by any means, doesn’t matter if you need to save for ten years or ten days. Do it!!!

Tired of immensely idiotic and predatory Rolex bullshit? Buy fakes, seriously, fuck Rolex, can't buy anything asides from an air-king at the dealership without some pompous bullshit on how you need to build "rapport" with them to get on the list or even purchase what's in-stock from the sub, Sd or Daytona series, do they think they're Patek?
HEY #nkuwan I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
