This understanding of the theology of glory vs the theology of the cross helps believers to understand that what Jesus said in John 10:10 is not to expected in this lifetime.
In one way, God's kingdom comes whenever Jesus comes into someone's life or is strengthened in faith in Him, so we pray for God's kingdom, His "rule" to be here on earth by His working in and through the lives of His people. We also pray for Jesus to return, that last day when it will be on earth is it is in heaven. So that part of the prayer helps me look ahead to the coming of Jesus too. This isn't meant to be a completely definitive answer (as though I have all the answers!), but does that vibe w you at all?
