For reference @17:06 The square country club on the ground is the Woodhaven Country Club at Washington & Hovley (Ave 42) Palm Desert to the west of Washington La Quinta.to the east of Washington.
It all depends on the winds. Most of the time the planes come in from the ocean. This is a rare event the winds blowing out to sea. It only happens in the winter months. You noticed they didn't turn around. It was a good video and I know the feel of the plane suddenly dropping a few feet. This why always wear your seatbelt because the plane can drop allot more and you would hit the roof. The plane drops you don't.
Dude, that's some good $hit! That pilot definitely earned his pay that day. I had a ride like that last year going into Seattle. Full on wind shear every time we got close to landing...loss of like 500 feet instantly. Pilot went around three times before he finally was able to land. At least your guy got you on the ground the first try.
