Found this channel on a complete Miracle, I knew Deathwatch was going to be something I started in 10th since their lore is cool to me, but I was so lost on where to start, since I never played space marines before. Thanks for this!
Bet! I just realized a potentially rad combo for the Spectrus team after hearing the art of war guys talk about how they are mission winners. If you attached a Phobos capt to them, you could farm cp! Just give them SPA each round for free then on a 5+ get another CP!! Its like free and would actually make their shooting maybe worth something, haha
Indometer seems to be the best value to take in Corvus, since they can’t rapid ingress like termies and you can take 10-11 gravis bodies whereas you’d normally only be able to fit six. Maybe attach that new Grav apothecary + Grav Capt for 12 bodies? That’s a lot of thick boys no other transport can take as many of, right?
@@CalAndAly correct! I’ve been considering a similar approach but I’m finding it hard to fill out the KT since I can only have 2 of each profile. Need to get another inceptor and an agressor 🤦🏽
@@SwissHammer just need to find a new way to play them I guess, the lil rule for disappearing from the board is nice but goes against how I’ve built them up personally. I’ve got a 1000 point game with friends tomorrow night to really put 10th to the test. Excited to see what comes 🫡
Hi Temor welcome back Man deathwatch is looking awsome The cost of vets and the corvus is looking real tasty for sure. I think youve summerised our army perfectly. Ive only played 1 game so far and i have to pass on a absolutely nuts combo that was bloody amazing. 5 hellblasters with lieutenant in an impulser with 5++ riding around shooting open top. -Furor tactics sustained hits -Hellfire rounds 2+ anti inf 5+ anti monster -LT gives lethal hits -oaths re roll hit/wounds -overcharged Man its absolutely brutal. Best thing is your can tank hazardous on the impulser. Mate u must try it Thanks again for your efforts
Thanks, great to see you again! The Impulsor/HB combo sounds hilarious, as I have all the models, I will be sure to give it a try. Personally, I have been looking into driving Eradicators around in a Repulsor. The latter is decently priced now, and has a hilarious ability that allows a unit to emergency-embark if they get charged.

For every 2 models in this unit, one Veteran Outrider can have its pistol replaced with one of the following. - flamer - grav-gun - melta gun - plasma gun - plasma pistol Can be joined by any Leader capable of joining Outrider Squad.
That's an amazing idea, with so many biker models around nowadays, it would be about time that we get a "mounted" Kill Team! On another note, I immensely like that we can now have an ATV join the Outriders (in the style of an Attack Bike joining Bikers). I am still waiting to get an ATV through the Imperium sub, but the moment I do, it's kit-bashing time!
Looking at some units outside of the deathwatch index, I’m excited about the blade guard vets led by a primaris captain with MC power sword and the thief of secrets and a blade guard ancient (with the beacon). Could be situational, but popping the once per battle abilities on the captain and ancient and using the malleus tactic with the maxed out thief of secrets could be devastating! The captain is throwing out 10 attacks at S7, AP -4, D4! Plus all the re-rolls for the oath of moment and the devastating wounds - smash captain is back!
BGV are looking very solid, also great in combination with a Judiciar, as "fight first" has gotten a lot better now that there is basically nothing else left. For the "Thief of Secrets", it is also great on a Watch Master, gives him quite the impressive spear profile.
Brother Temor welcome back!!! Another fine video! Excited for 10th been waiting for you to post a video! You excited to run your Corvus? Because that baby will be in all my lists.
Thank you! I greatly appreciated that they added the "1 full KT" option to the Corvus, which gives it unique capabilities beyond any other (regular) transport. I think this will go a long way to have it see play.
@SwissHammer Have Deathwatch lost the Dominus Aegus? Haven't seen it as an option in the new app for either Gladius Task Force or Black Sear T.F. (Strike Force 2K pts) or in the datasheets.
This is correct. However, there is far less default AP in 10th edition, unless you are going dedicated anti-tank. As such, the armor save matters more. A bit like back when we had AoC and did not need to bring the Aegis anymore for a while. Still recommended throwing a couple astartes shields in, though.
Since the nerf to hellfire rounds, do you think the long vigil ranged weapon is better, or just the straight bolt gun so you can still use hellfire? Both seem good
That is correct, the former "Vengeance" round (+1D) has been removed. Fairly save to say that this would have broken the game. Personally, having seen the "combat patrol" stratagem now, I would even have preferred for SIA to be a single strat (and you pick 1 out of 3 effects), this would have opened up the possibility for some more DW-stratagems (like BoV). But I realize that at this point we would be asking for even more on top of already very good army/detachment rules.
They need to update the typos and missing wargear options... Heavy flamer in kill team.cassius is str 2... It shows las fusils on the wargear list in the Spectrus killteam but doesn't say you can trade in the sniper for it No omni scramblers or haywire mines? In regards to the Corvus Blackstar transport capacity...'1 kill team' does that apply to the attached leader of that killteam? That's how kill team Cassius works. Cassius is technically an epic character
GW has a lot of cleanups to do, that's for sure. Regarding leaders, the "Leader" rule (p.39 of the core rules) states that attaching them treats the whole as a single unit. As such, boarding the Corvus is possible.
Is it confirmed that if you run 2* DW Veteran squads as battleline the Strats can be used on them both using the kill team word even though they are not in a named “kill team”?
Yes, they have the "KILL TEAM" keyword, that's all that's needed to double-play the strats. I suppose they wanted to encourage the use of the DW Vets as a viable alternative to the actual KTs (thankfully so).
So even though an Indomitor Kill Team is comprised of all Heavy Intercessors, they don't gain the defensive bonus of a Heavy Intercessor squad? (Not mad, just confused)
This is correct. Models joining a KT lose all abilities and have them replaced with the KT one plus whatever extra is being listed. This means no def bonus for HIs, no omni-scramblers for Infiltrators (terrible), no re-rolls for Eradicators, etc... it quite limits the initial power of a KT, hence the army-wide rules and SIA strats are much more important now.
You are going to ride with style! It has to be said, however, that KT Cassius is not looking that great when compared to the equivalent of similar datasheets.
Indomitor with Biologis looks very interesting, not sure if I would double up on characters, however. We have very good options (WM, Artemis, Inquisitor, Judiciar) and just like in 9th edition, overloading on characters is a risk of not having enough bodies to get the missions done.
While I like the route 10th is taking, it very much feels like its in beta and its up to the playing community to "PATCH" it, 1:Literally spell checking and stuff like 'why does the Brutalis get the (Dreadnought) keyword and not the other primaris dreds'? 2:Roster fill out, I'm dam bitter about not having Firstborn Apoth and Champ able to attach to other squads! 3:Points, Squad sizes, Wargear, again it feels like a moment of "We'll fix it later", which everyone will do by Homebrew or what. Overall I'm excited but there's several bumps that threaten to destroy it all before it gets started, crossing my fingers!
Agreed that there is a lot of "proofreading" to be done. I have some sympathy for GW and a huge release like this, but I cannot help wondering about their QA team and also the play-testers. Some mistakes are just too plain obvious. But as you mentioned the Apothecary and the Command Squad, I am holding my horses atm, but looks to me like this unit is currently quite hilarious: Cheap for the amount of weapons and utility you can stack, and unless I am missing something, the Apothecary can keep rezing the Company Champion. If this is not going to get updated in the near future, I will be running those in my first list iteration just for giggles.
GW confused two numbers in places and we got the best terminators in the whole game. Thunder hammer in Terminator/Deathwatch Terminator Squad - A3 WS 4+. Thunder Hammer in Proteus KT - A4 WS 3+.
