Beau is back! He was making great progress but, as we know can happen, sometimes it’s 3 steps forward, 2 steps back. So, JJ is working within Beau’s comfort zone: Staying on the track and making big circles, focusing on a return of free, forward, flowing movement while setting up a situation where it’s easy and comfortable for him to use his hind legs to stretch over his back and into both reins.
This video is a great demonstration of how to focus on what the horse needs today without judgment based on what he was able to do yesterday.
