Trusting the hand can be difficult for many horses; once something ‘bad’ happens, the horse can be wary and defensive when the rider takes up the reins.
This week JJ shows us how she is teaching Beau to accept the bit by focusing on how her seat and energy presents the bit to him. Using empathy, repetition, and frequent rewards, Beau begins to think about the bit in a new, positive way.
