- My hunt for the perfect student violin has ended. I've found it.
The first one I played is an Antonio Giuliani Primo. kennedyviolins...
The second one (my absolute favorite. I love it so much I'm still playing it.) is a Louis Carpini G2.

The last one was a Richard Bunnel G2. I really liked this one as well if you're looking for a more affordable student violin.

very helpful video. You are so talented and dedicated towards the instrument and it is evident from the way u play it.
Thank you so so much! That is very kind of you.
This is super cool!! Checking them out now
Yes! 🙌 hope you love them!
Good video. You have a beautiful family. Brick and Mortar stores are disappearing. Because of high taxes, COVID epidemic, and crime. Buying a violin is a good way to get ripped off unless you have some guidance by someone who knows the trade. There is alot of bad products on the market
🙌🙌 THIS! 💯
You rock you are so very beautiful your a beautiful star violinist ✨🎻
i just bought the primo but took the Zyex string upgrade . i get it monday. Just starting out. i’ll watch your all your videos.thanks.
So so amazing!!!!! I hope you love it and good luck!! 🎻🎻
You are very lucky/fortunate to have a wonderful family. I'll just bet that the young fella will be a great musician one day with a warm and loving family like he has !!
-Mark from Australia.
Thank you so much Mark!
What bow would you put with the Louis Carpini G2?
That won't totally break the bank ;)
This one!! For sure!

@@Corrietheviolinist thank you for your time
Aw, the little boy is having so much fun...
You're no beginner, I don't know why you're after a student violin or three. Also, I never scratch the rosin. Oh, I think I prefer the 3rd violin. 😄
I have quite a few beginner students and searching for a good beginner violin to recommend. And found one! Haha
Fun unboxing. It's hard to tell on the video but I think the first violin would sound really good with better strings. It was rather a metalic sound, but for a beginner, you don't want to spend $100 on strings. I just think that violin could sound a lot better. Looks great, too.
That's a great note. It was a nice violin but agree it needed a little something to make it sound better
I love you played different violins and showcasing each violin sounds w/price points. Especially love the sweet sounds of two expensive violins at the end. What are the label name or makers for each expensive violins? My daughter and I are trying to hunt down violins with sweet sounds.
So amazing! I’m so glad it was helpful! I linked these violins in the description but let me know if you have any questions or anything! (My favorite was the Louis Carpini. It plays incredibly well for a student violin but they’re all quite nice.)
I don't know why I prefer the lowest bunnel model than the middle model Ya I agree the second model little bit nasally. I came here because ray chen ever review cheapest violon from amazon and only bunner that he amaze since have sound like real violin and I imagine maybe the others like toy
Yes I like the Bunnel model too!
You play well but none of the violins were properly tuned. Yes its not expected to stay in tune when the strings are new but i mean like right off the bat. The fifths werent lining up
I knowwww. I filled this very quickly. I had less than 20 minutes to unbox, play, compare etc so didn’t have the time needed to get any of the violins perfectly in tune. But just well enough that I could still play and compare for the video. Thanks for watching though and I’ll make sure they’re more in tune next time. 🙏👌
After watching this video again i think you really need to do it over. it seems pretty rushed and needs captioning of exactly what violin we are seeing. Thank you.
I totally agree. I’m quite terrible at editing which is why none of my videos have helpful captions or anything. I’m trying to get better! Still new to this.
Love your shirt!!! Thanks for the video! 😊
Thank you!! 😊
What state do you live in? Looking for an instructor 🤗
California. I teach online 😊
I own a 1921 model Bunnel. I like it. It’s responsive, bright on the E and A, and bold and mellow on the D and G. The G string sounds as good as any fiddle I’ve ever owned. I use the same shoulder rest, and the combo feels a bit heavy….
Yeah loved the Bunnel for a student violin! Interesting about the shoulder rest.
@@Corrietheviolinist I meant 2021. Gotta get my head outta the 20th century!
Just curious why you're buying another violin. You don't like the one you have?
Oh I love my violin, but I’ve been searching for an awesome student violin to be able to recommend. So many of them are just terrible to play on! I wanted to be able to recommend one that I actually enjoyed playing on as well.
@@Corrietheviolinist oh ok. I found a nice one at the pawn shop for $150. I think I got lucky
Love the shirt 👍
Thanks! 😉
I have a question, please. How many hairs on a bow can you do without? Several of mine got caught on something and broke, but our store says it takes several weeks to re-hair a bow!! So wondering if there is a minimum amount you need for a good sound?
Ooo great question! If you’ve just lost a few hairs, you’ll be totally fine! Usually when you’re hitting about 75% of hair it’s time to get a rehair.
@@Corrietheviolinist thank you sooooo much!!!!! I had no idea. I appreciate your time answering and love you videos and Peter! (My husband is Peter also. :)
@@valappleby9960 for sure! It’s honestly a great question most people don’t know. Peter is such a good name 😉 ♥️
You'd be surprised how little hair is needed to make the violin sound. My practice carbon cheapo bow has lost about 2 third of its hair and it still works.... badly though. Sounds shrill and slips easily. As corrie says it's a good practice to get a rehair when a quarter is gone.
I just buy a new bow when I need a rehair lol

Yes!! 🙌
@@Corrietheviolinist ok then maybe you wanna state it clearly in the description, so that people know they help you when they order through your link. People will be happy to use these links instead of browsing the website through Google.
Great little shootout anyways. The Carpini does seem to sound smooth. If it plays well, no doubt it's a winner!
@@docteurpurpor5250 such great advice. Clearly still learning all this stuff over here haha
I’m in love
