I'm a working professional in the building energy efficiency & decarbonization industry. Since the carbon tax was introduced, I've seen construction costs for building retrofit projects DOUBLE. This has rendered most projects unaffordable and/or no longer cost-effective for owners to invest in.

Well if I’m paying $30 carbon tax on my gas bill then quadrupling it would mean $120 carbon tax wouldn’t it!
Then you have to add in the added cost of everything you buy. It's all shipped by diesel trucks, diesel trains, and diesel ships. Companies won't eat the added cost they will pass it on to the consumer.
Right now if I look at my natural gas heating invoice , the federal carbon tax amount is higher than the actual gas supply charge.
We are in big trouble if we don't get Trudeau out of office now!

Canadians are fed up with the Liberals' carbon obsession and their abusive carbon tax.
The Carbon Tax should be renamed the Crippling Tax due to its impact on Canadians and our economy. While the income redistribution scheme may put marginally more money in 80% of Canadians pockets, 100% of Canadians are worse off when all costs and impacts are factored in according to the PBO. I suspect a large portion of the 40% growth in the civil service since 2015 is dedicated to shuffling the carbon tax between pockets at great cost to taxpayers. And of course, Canada's emissions continue to grow slowly. The Carbon Tax and its related policies aren't a climate plan. They are tax grabs and regulations designed to hamper the economy and potentially drive Canadian companies out of Canada to more favorable jurisdictions like our southern neighbor. As an aside, the USA has no consumer carbon tax yet somehow emissions are declining annually while the economy grows.
After you apply the carbon tax we also have to look at the local taxes, the regional taxes, the provincial taxes that are added to everything we build in this country. The elites of this country have already figured this out. Trudeau wants this to happen so his friends and the WEF can swoop in and buy all of this up while we try to survive or leave this country. Government bureaucrats are too comfortable in this country and continue to work on ways to extract money from us instead of helping us build one of the strongest economies in the world. Trudeau and his WEF are traitors to this country and not only need to be removed from power but convicted of treason and in jail. It is time we had a way to recall politicians in this country and make everyone of them accountable. This is just my humble opinion.

As normal families here in Canada, this tax is putting such a strain for everyone, meanwhile, Assylum seekers, refugees from the middle east and Africa are getting non-stop Handouts from the government. I have a neighbor from Africa been here in Canada for more than 5 years now, he doesn't like to work, always getting fired at his job and still getting non-stop handouts monthly. I don't get this, meanwhile I am busting my ass working 3 jobs and the government doesn't give me a single penny back, they give me more tax instead. I don't think Pierre has a clue how the greenhouse effect works.
Do you even know what the most abundant 'green house gas' is, worldwide ? It's water vapour, in the atmosphere, which is FAR more abundant than CO2 which ONLY makes up about .04% of our atmosphere....yet we're being taxed to death over it even though our total GHG emissions total less that 2% of the earth's total at 1.6 %.
CO2 is plant food, and needed for ALL life on earth. Plants eat it, and we eat the plants, then the animals that we eat, eat the plants, the animals that other animals eat, eat the plants....see how that food chain works ? It's been proven - through testing the ice core samples ,older soil levels, etc. - that the more CO2 there is the greener and healthier the planet is. Right now ? Scientists in the know are saying our planet is actually in a CO2 drought, if anything, and the LAST thing we should be trying to do is to reduce the CO2 even more.
