Nice overview. I like that most of the configuration is completed easily with a nice overview of the advanced features if you want to use them. While I am technical I am happy with the Link app. It is working great so far.
Hi Adam, Yes are working on these videos now! Please check our youtube channel later this week for these.. If you have any other questions about our systems you can also email us at support@amcrest.com.
Hello Adam, If you haven't already found out, we have a playlist with all of the network access videos available for HDCVI. This includes mobile setup, local access, and remote access. Whether you have a 720p or 1080p system, the interface and setup process will be the same. But, in the video, we use a 1080p system. I hope you're enjoying your system, please let us know if you need any help or have a recommendation for another video for us to make!
Amcrest Technologies Thank you very much. I plan on purchasing a system within the next few weeks. Not sure what company though. I'm looking to get a good deal and a good quality system. I realize that it's not wireless so installing it will probably be a pain, but I'm an IT guy and I've run network cable before. I'm sure I can figure it out.
Adam Chalmers Our pleasure, Sir! Of course, I would encourage you to do all your research and make an informed decision. If you have any more specific questions about our systems in particular, how they would apply to your situation, or even how ours might compare to some other systems you're thinking about, I would be more than happy to share what I know. I know there are a lot of options out there, so it can be hard to decide. The important thing to keep in mind or stay focused on is exactly how you plan on using your system and how it would make your life easier. Our main focus is to provide a competitively priced, industry-grade solution. And, if you do decide to go with us, we currently have a 10% off promotion that might interest you. Once again, don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need a second opinion or have questions about anything! Take care, and good luck Adam!
Amcrest Technologies I just purchased the 720P HD Over Analog (HDCVI) 4CH Video Security System (waiting for it to arrive). Before putting the cameras in locations I want them, should I find a table then hook up the DVR to a monitor and then plug the cameras in and do the configurations like local and remote access beforehand? I think this would make sense. Get everything set up first and then run the cables through my attic to wherever I decide to put the DVR. Make sense?
Hello, So I have a CVI unit that I was able to get my 751B installed in without an issue. While I am moving some Cameras around and Changing around some things my 960H shows Channel 01 to 04 and then there is 4 other areas. Then when you bring up the Menu there is an IP cameras Icon on the Left TOP. However there is no way for me to tell the DVR what IP to look at. Does the DVR have to be lower IP then the IP camera? I have my IP camera Set at 10.0.0.200 and my DVR at 10.0.0.209? Would it look from my Host up or just dvr IP up?? In the Manual it says it can work with 1.3mp IP cameras... Anyway I have looked for a VIDEO of how to connect the IP camera in HVR mode as mine is set and no one seems to have done one? While I know the 960h is an OLDER system there are still plenty of people that still have them that will want to upgrade to an IP camera. With such a VIDEO I am sure it could make the Sales of your 1.3mp IP cameras sell more if people knew what to look for doing the install. So I guess for now my CVI unit stays with the IP camera. Sadly the CVI unit don't work with my Analog Cameras as it says it can. Guess no one was telling the Analog cameras had to be Amcrest for them to work on the CVI unit because none of my PTZ or Zoom analog cameras work on my CVI unit only my Amcrest CVI cameras and my IP Amcrest camera work... Oh and one of my TVI cameras but that takes 2ch run so not an option lol
Default password is incorrect I'm trying to hey into the system to to reset password I'm unable to view my cameras from my phone says incorrect password, my date and time are incorrect as well, there is nothing in your tutorial or Manuel that gives instructions of how to rest password, please help!
Be careful this says it is for the 960H it is not. I drove myself crazy looking for IP menu to attach ip cameras. Does not exist. Emailed support after a couple rounds told to call support where I was told to update firmware. successfully accomplished that still no ip setup menu.called support again told no my model 960h does not support IP cameras. shows ip camera setup on this video and in the 960H manual.

Thank you David this really helped.
Can you make a video for the 720P HD-CVI, or would it be the same setup process?

Even after changing the IP address to 190 still can't find the IP of the camera. So much for moving cameras around lol...
