One of the most beautiful violin concertos, which should be played at least as often as any of the big warhorses (Sibelius, Mendelssohn, Bruch, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven....). The performance leaves nothing to be desired. World class ! Orchestra and conductor are very good too.

About 35 years ago, I bought a classical CD which had this concerto upon it. I had never heard of it, took a chance since it was...a dollar! After dozens of hearings, I now realize there are very few works which contain so many beautiful phrases. I had no idea the gem God brought into my life until many years later. Dvorak was extremely special.
Balanas is right up there with best violinists I have ever heard. But on top that she is so natural and at one with the violin. I have seen her live twice and still feel the warmth of her personality almost a year later. ❤
If was possible god`s speech for all humanity it came along through great composers as Antonín Dvořák. Is she a debut violinist? Actually if find her dating some guy i will be sick and jealous and furious.
