I’m obsessed with the look of your shorts they’re gorgeous. Also, the styling is beautiful. The fabric is jaw dropping gorgeous. I would love some pleated palazzo pants in that fabric with a matching bustier. Cute! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Thank you so much!! Definitely add pockets! I kept trying to put my lens cap in my pocket when I was taking the photos and had to remember that I didn't have any pockets 😂!

These shorts look amazing in this fabric! ❤ Thanks for sharing your muslin shortcut using facings. I will definitely give that a try because I don’t always want to make a full muslin. 😊

Thank you so much, Crystal! Yes, I definitely don't have time for full muslins so this short cut saves my fabric! Thank you for watching!

Hey Talisha! nice shorts! They look great on you. I love the Ankara fabric/colorway. At first glance, that pattern looked familiar..... LOL!! I have it in my pattern stash! I am definitely making the palazzo pants and now I want the shorts too. As always a very good presentation, and it is always a pleasure to visit your channel. Have a happy sewing day!

Talisha, I just love your energy and that Ankara fabric. I am wondering if the bunching might have something to do with the ‘hand’ of the fabric. I made culottes ( 3 pairs) during lockdown and crisp feel serves the pants well but might be contributing the bunching. I really respect your frankness around patterns and fabric used in your making.

Thank you so very much, Kimberly!!! I appreciate your comments! Because I have not made pants or shorts with a flat front in the past, I am unsure but I will definitely keep in mind your experience with the stiffness of this fabric and I may make a pair in a fabric with more drape. Thank you for your support and advice!!!! 😍

Talisha, 2 possible front adjustments. 1. Make a dart from center front seam to side seam. Larger end of the dart at center front seam tapering to nothing at side seam. 1/4 inch increments and up. Taking out desired fullness. This will adjust the length in crotch, and eliminate the smile lines. 2. A two ended pointed dart, a fisheye, narrows to zero on both ends, often drawn vertically. This dart takes out the fullness in middle and can be made anywhere in front area of pant but, it does not adjust the crotch length. Make a muslin and make same adjustments on both sides. These are your shorts and they are beautiful! ❤🙏🏽

Those shorts are amazing! I usually like the elastic waist too, but I would totally try them. I wish they would increase their sizes, too, on patterns. I notice a lot of my simplicity and Burda patterns have the largest size at about 20 or equivalent.

Hi Lisa! Thank you so much! Yes, I think size 20 is a bit short but hopefully they will increase at some point. Thank you for watching!

The shorts are super cute and the print is everything 🙌🏾💕💛 I made the simplicity 9549 and those shorts were bunching up when I walked too. 😅

I have the same problem with shorts. I had to butt adjustments and crotch. Mimi g pattern loved. For me, I made a 20 it was too big. 18 would have been fantastic . I will be making it again..

    Hi great video.
I think the bunching up might be a fit issue. It could be that the crotch length in the front may be too long.
If you google “fitting the crotch length in the front” you might find the answer to your issue. Blessings

    • @CreativiteeByT
      @CreativiteeByT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you for your comment! I am going to look into that because I felt like it could have been longer... It could have just needed an adjustment like you said but it's definitely something that I want to look into and master.

My pleasure. What I would do is this: When I have the shorts on and walk in them, I would pin up the excess fabric where it is bunching up. Nine-out-of-ten, it will be more fabric at the center front and fade to nothing at the hips (the bunching might also go past the hips, but pin till it fades to nothing, like a dart). Then I would take the pants, now pinned, and compare it to my pattern. You might find that when your pants are pinned, it is the same shape as another leg size in your pattern, or shaped completely differently. Sometimes a person may have the crotch size differ from front and back. You might be a size 16 in the back but be a size 14 in the front where fit is concerned. Then I would make another pair following the changes I made from pinning the shorts.
It might sound like a lot of work but really it’s not. It’s just a matter of pinning down the excess fabric that bunches when you walk. Personally, you look great but YOU have to like wearing your clothes, and since YOU CAN SEW, make them the way YOU want.
Great channel, keep up the good work. 👍🏾
