"This is the Bard, you cannot paraphrase. It's not like Pinter where you can say pretty much what you like as long as you leave enough gaps." One of my favourite lines of anything!

"Start to lighten it. From scene 2. From the Hokey Cokey". Genius!

My favourite Victoria Wood sketch of all time (though Victoria does not feature). Vale Victoria.

Okay, Julie is workin' that outfit!! Lol, love it. It is completely hysterical and absolutely perfect! I could not stop laughing, I love watching this; the whole sketch is flawless. Hands down, one of my favorites. I am so happy to have stumbled upon these two amazing women. I have only seen JW in Calendar Girls, but had no idea ... =)

I have seen this done so many times by both men and women and it works brilliantly! Writing and observation of the highest comic quality!

This would be a brilliant audition piece for a young actor to chose for their drama school audition...or to put on a showreel...jus sayin'...(as a sometime casting director) .
In the Catherine Tate tribute to Victoria she said that one of the things she loved about her most was her generosity. Imagine writing something as good as this, and then giving it to another actor to play! It's like Paul McCartney letting John Lennon sing.; "Yesterday"

Brilliant writing and performing by Wood and Walters. I really do think I would enjoy the Piecrust Performers version of Hamlet more than the professional ones Ive seen....Especially the thought of a Hokey cokey in Act 2.

That of course is Julie Walters, not Victoria Wood. Brilliant, as always!

Yes it is Julie Walters, but on Victoria's show so presumably written by VW. Had loads on my channel taken from old VHS tapes recorded from TV when I was young. However, now been removed by BBC under copy write - bit silly if you ask me as it's only promoting someone's excellent work. Never mind :-)

Most of us know that I hope. In any case the sketch is by Victoria Wood and both Wood & Walters (I also miss that show) are brilliant (in my mind Victoria Wood can't be gone). So maybe the title of this clip is because the show from which it was taken was called "Victoria Wood - As Seen On TV" ?

There's a bit of Shirley Ballas in there

Yes Hunkh, but it's from the weekly show... Victoria Wood as Seen on TV, and that was the name of the sketch!

How time moves on. I wonder how many viewers now would get the Margaret Lockwood reference?

This reminds me of a woman called Kelly Martin who I had the misfortune of knowing . She tried directing plays . She failed. I used to annoy her , I would do everything as opposite to her. She hated it. I didnt care, still dont.
