Its does work, you need to try it ! Just got fit for this shaft at TXG. Going from a Graphite Design IZ shaft to this, I have gained about 20 yards.......Thanks Dean (TXG Fitter) for your help.

I've only just realised how much difference a shaft makes.
I was fitted with a 70gm xstiff shaft in my ping g425 driver 2.5 yrs ago when I started playing. In spite of lots of lessons and drills and practice I was still fighting a massive slice and I was disappointed with the distance. After some research I tried a few shafts and settled on a 60gm stiff 6.0 hazardous smoke rdx. The difference is amazing. It's almost impossible to lose right and it's just so easy to hit the ball straight now. I also picked up an easy 15mts of carry.
I had a couple of swings with the old shaft which now feels like a telegraph pole and could feel the extra work I had to put in to try and square up the club face. I feel like golf just got easier.

Interesting. I almost did the complete opposite. I moved to an XStiff but at 65gm and I now hit them did straight (most of the time lol). I love how golf is not one size fits all. Everyone has their own journey

I would love to see a video about selecting pre-owned clubs using a small set of swing data to get you in the ballpark of a good fit.
Learning from you all has made me want to get fit of course, but realistically used clubs are my price range. It would be great to have some rough idea of what I should look for based off of some basic swing data points like club speed, launch angle, spin etc. probably a big ask but just a thought!
I know it’ll never be a perfect fit or substitute a day with you in the fitting bay but it would be awesome to be more educated pre-owned buyer.
Thank you for all you do! As a customer success manager in software it feel our two worlds are very similar. Just looking at different data but helping people perform their best! You have made learning this stuff so fun ❤

Currently gaming a 46" SpeederNX 50S. Tipped 2”, with my 8* TSi3 head @C4 (8.75* Flat). Neutral weight position and Swing weight @D5. Performs with similar tip action to my Ventus Red but with more load in the butt section. I went from a push cut/slice player, to a push draw/push player. Its free'd me up so much and the ball sails!

NOTICE THE TWO DIFFERENT TEES: HE STARTED SHORT WITH HIS GAMER (GREEN) AND THEN WITH THE 40X HE USES THE HIGHER TEE (RED).
HIGHER TEE UPWARD ANGLE OF ATTACK = LOW SPIN
LOWER TEE DOWNWARD ANGLE OF ATTACK = HIGH SPIN
The results are more of a reflection of tee height than the shaft but, that said, longer and lighter is a winning combo for more distance. I use a Kuro Kage 50x and love it!

Been toying with this concept, but I'm using a more flexible shaft, trying to recreate the autoflex feel. Using a 45g ProLaunch Blue in A-flex, but dropped the 10g weight in my LTDx for a 5g, to keep the swing weight down. Unfortunately, it's freezing cold so I can't get out to hit it, but it feels fast swinging at home.

Fujikura Air Speeder 40 has a 48 gram stiff flex and the new NX 40 has a stiff flex that weighs 50 grams. Ventus Blue comes in a 50 gram stiff flex according to the fitter at the PGA Superstore here who showed me one. Fujikura had a Rocket Fuel 50 X flex shaft that weighed 53 grams that was a stock shaft on the RBZ Stage 2 driver. Mitsubishi Diamana has a 50 gram stiff version. There are numerous others. Use the longest driver you can that works with your game. I went to 46" some 20 years ago. Weight should be low but flex is more important as I've gone from S to R over these years. Your tests should include players of varying speeds to see the influence of these changes to know who gets the best bang for the buck (100mph, 90mph and 80mph).
