Many people sincerely wish freedom in Iran. I am one of them. Cuz we are humans. We all have similar history. The government in Korea regulated long hair of men and short skirt of women. A person was secretly tortured and the goverment said he is just dead of heart attack. So we protested and managed to catch the freedom. I believe your country can do it, too. Fight for freedom! 🇰🇷 ❤️ 🇮🇷
Talking about ending the shackles of slavery and freedom from tyranny for all is not political. We may not be as obviously enslaved as back in the day but we are just as much slaves as they were.
Victor Hugo my fellow frenchman would be proud, transcending centuries and people alike. Probably our greatest universalist. Reactionnaries are always the same no matter what era or countries they're in, they cling to power and never stop using violence to maitain it. Arnav Jadhao yeah i agree with you, even tough there are two types of « colonies » (as you say ) : TOM and DOM and TOM such as French Polynesia have a local gouvernement that provides them a kind of independency, the cultural heritage is very well protected and France has already organised referendums for independency like in French Caledonia. Anyways I still think that it is not a good thing because these territories are often left out, the level of unemployment is bigger than in metropole ( France territory in Europe ). I think that every nation should have their one territories and govern themselves.Anyways, I don’t understand why he was talking about Africa that’s why I would have liked facts on this point ( I am not saying that he is wrong I just want facts it is a matter of principle ).
@@arnavjadhao123 When the British retreated and gave independence to a lot of their colonies, it did not bring about a better life, the disconnect from a worldwide trade network caused a lot of them to decline. Not to say that self rule is not a good thing but it is only a start rather than a goal for a better life. A lot of the newly independent countries had a decline in QoL rather than an increase. So one has to be careful in equating self rule with a better quality of life, they do not necessarily follow each other. You need to combine good economic policy AND independence or at least autonomy for a better life, not just independence.
@@arnavjadhao123 That's what the leaders of the independence movements often tell the people then they blame the British for the declining way of life but the reality is that a lot of these resources cannot be "taken away". For example Ceylon tea production, how do the British take away future harvests when they have not been planted yet? Or future mine production of copper when they have not even been extracted yet? It's not like they can cut off a chunk of the planetary crust and move it to England. If you checked the financial and resource records for the time, very little actually made it to England, most of it gets used or sold locally. It was a lot of the independence movements that ascribed this "They stole everything!!" myth to justify independence, so the British got blamed for a lot of their future mismanagements. Up till now, a lot of the African and Indian countries still get taught this but practically it was a politicized myth to justify independence.

I personally wish people would sing songs from Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Les Mis, Mama Mia etc. But we can’t have a everything unfortunately.
MysticBlaze 112 tbh, as great as the previous musicals are, hamilton prolly has the most 'singeable' (or rappable?) songs in musicals, as the raps usually are self contained despite telling a story... you can rap about aaron burr sir without it being too weird, but you can't sing 'look down' without doing the javert and valjean speeches...

i always thought 1:43 was a touching moment when the soldier gets into it with the crowd and gets hugged. I don't know why but that moment just sticks in my mind
To me that moment represent all those who are in the force because they have no choice, because they need the money and the benefits for their families. That moment represents all, men and women, that are "sacrificed" in the front lines for disputes that are not their own while the responsibles are safe behind desks miles away
It's actually because, in the Revolution of July 1830, french military troops joined the people's side rather than sticking with the government. Victor Hugo saw it with his own two eyes
@macsmiffy2197 Ughhh I love the music but I am also sick of all things Les Misérables. My sophomore year of high school, our band director had us playing the music for concert, we watched the movie on every out of town trip (which during football season is almost every week) and then we went to go see the play in theater. So try going a full year of school where your life is almost revolving around this movie and it's theater adaptation
It's not a good movie, unfortunately. Tonally inconsistent, terrible cinematography, pacing issues, underwhelming Javert _and_ Valjean. The other actors were good, though, like the ones you see here. Wish the movie hadn't wasted them. It's very hard to make a movie of a musical. For it to work, they would have needed to make a lot more changes.

Talking about ending the shackles of slavery and freedom from tyranny for all is not political. We may not be as obviously enslaved as back in the day but we are just as much slaves as they were.

Shayc Babs may you give the facts that make you believe that ? It’s a very good thing to give its opinion but it is better with arguments that’s what I’ve been always told
