So far my list is Hunter main, Pally alt, DK cuz it's Wrath, and prolly Warrior cuz they're actually not cancer to level in this expansion. I hope the expansion lasts long enough for me to enjoy them all to some degree, TBCC has certainly been shorter than I expected.
Warrior have never been cancer to lvl wtf I made it to 60 and hardly ate you just have to kite and sunder
You forgot to mention Avenging Wrath CD was reduced by 1 minute so even though it's only 20% it is really a buff because of 50% more uptime.

So no, on it's own they're technically the same. The margins of what would be better then depend on the length of a fight (e.g., sub 2min fight and old wings is better). However, the way this can be considered to be better is that now the cool down lines up with our on-use trinkets, meaning you don't have to make judgement calls about whether you should hold off on using a trinket/haste pot to line it up with another Wings.
@@omarlozano9374 Yeah but he said it's a nerf. Also considering most on use trinkets are on a 2 min cd this would count as a buff as you are lining up your cds better with your trinkets.
I mained ret pala in a Wrath private server and I loved him so much, mostly because it was at 3.3.5a patch with T10 and all. So, I think this time I'll go into the official with a prot pala with a ret offspec to gear up as the patches goes by until ICC comes where I can remember the good old days when I first got into ICC with my first guild.

Seal twisting is literally aids to the class , it’s not a good thing to have to do that in order to do decent dmg . So glad it’s going away

If you only want to concern yourself with doing damage something like DK or Rogue (and later Warrior when it actually does damage) might be more your speed. If you want to play Ret though, you are brought for your buffs and very important CDs... some of which can save your raid from a wipe. There will only be one Ret spot, and that latter bit is what will separate you from the mouth breathers. Learn what every CD you have does and use them liberally. Be the hero your raid deserves.

I think the idea of classes like Retribution only having one spot in raids is dangerous because to me, it sounds like it reinforces the idea that every run must be perfectly set up. It's like a removal of a challenge. In TBC now I see hunters and destruction warlocks - often multiple of them when it's unneeded. It's definitely alright to bring more classes/talent specs that aren't at the top of the charts and learning how to win with them IMO makes the game's learning curve and success even more satisfying. Like, where is the fun if everyone is only looking to play the same each time/playing a class just for numbers on a chart?

Ret paladin will be the single most popular spec by far, so keep that in mind if you decide to main one. Paladins have the best healer for both pvp and pve, the best tank and one of the best dps specs in the game and they will be overpowered in wrath.

Paladins were so strong in Wrath that ever since then, Ret has been horrible in retail.
If your guild is really into min-maxing don't worry, Getting a 2h weapon wouldn't be too hard. Since the Dk's would be going duel wielding with 1h weapons (they do way more dmg that way, Look up whitewolf's video on DW unholy Dks). Your only real competition would be warriors and in earlier patches you won't be seeing too many of those as well. Its probably better to stack Spellhance, Frostdks and Rogues among melees for maximum dmg. With fair lootcouncil and ofc knowing your class, loyalty to the guild. You will get prio on gear.
i've mained ret in all of tbc, it's incredibly fun and pumps some nice single target. sucks to see seal twisting go away as it makes for a fun rotation to be honest. i'll definitely be staying ret for wotlk though

As a Ret Paladin I approve this message, only things I would add is;
DSac build only results in a 5% dps loss single target cause it only affects SoV + JoV by 15% and when you are middle of the pack for single target throughout Ulduar it makes more sense to bring imo
TOTM (Tareyak's One-Tapper Macro) which automates your rotation to one button :D

There is still a big difference between facerolling and following your priority... all of that adds up over time. Still pretty simple all things considered.

Can you do a video about prot warrior, I feel like there is a lot of doom and gloom about that class because of rugs going as far to say just to never play it.
They're fine. And they actually require skill, anger managing and awareness. They're just the old pair of shoes no one wants to wear because they are unfashionable. They fit well and are comfortable but they're just unfashionable and there are shinier shoes to choose.

@@christhesanctified is it the best defense for protwar you could muster? “Protwars are the worst tanks, but that’s okay, your raid can still carry you if they try hard enough!” Why would bring a warrior instead of a protpally or a dk? You CAN stuff your raid with bm hunters and frost mages and clear a few bosses in naxx, but why would you do that?
As a ret pally I can't wait for wrath popping off mad dps.

Ret had a top 5 ranking in dps. So many content creators under playing how strong ret was in wrath. I was constantly 1st or 2nd on the meters myself back in the day in heroic 25 ICC raiding. To say it won't be sought after and 2-3 rets brought in a 25 man group is really under selling. People saying ret sucked until ICC are absolutely wrong. Out the gate in prepatch we were op. So op that an immediate nerf bat came at us during naxx and we still were good after that.
What's really going on here is the absolute pally hate that's always been in game. Hate towards "hybrids" which is absolute smooth brain concept in the first place. (Specs land in the holy trinity and there is no such thing as a hybrid) and hate towards Paladins. You see it now in classic calling paladins the cheap class. It's just jealousy, envy and some dumbass epeen measuring by people who have to put others down to feel better about themselves.
Well, we most likely will play with last patch so performance for most specs will be different than in original wotlk.

Ret is very good indeed in TBC. Every raid wants at least one for the utility, unlike you know...a fury warrior, and skilled players can do top dps with seal twisting. You are misinformed my friend.

You don't lose Seals of the pure by getting divine sacrifice. You can even still get divine guardian and still retain 3 points in SotP.
He mentioned the 20% dmg reduction for 6 seconds. So you have to invest 6 more points into prot to get Divine Guardian. Divine Sacrifice is kinda useless in raids without the followup Talent.

I despise the thumbnail, saying "it's finally good" while loosing one of the most fun rotations for "you have 5 buttons, press whatever is not on cd" seems really odd, especially because ret has been a consistently good melee with unique properties. I for one main ret in tbc and will be switching in wotlk.
