Genuinely can't imagine the array of emotions Anna is going through, her whole adult life has been about being there for Andy. She has been the most loving, patient, dedicated and devoted mum in the world. Andy is very lucky to have such a wonderful woman in his life. Anna you have so much ahead of you and I promise you that both you and Andy are going to thrive. Andy will always be your little boy no matter where he lives because he knows how much you love him. You absolutely deserve to start putting your life first. I wish you all the joy in the world.
I hope Anna is keeping okay, she is clearly a very fantastic mother who is always going to be caring and protective over Andy. It must be a huge emotional change for her personally, as well as it will be for Andy and everybody else. It's wonderful that he can experience his own independence and hopefully this arrangement will be wonderful for you all. Sending love!
wow, what a huge step for Andy and both of you. I owe a lot to some of the content on this channel, it's taught me about autism and even made me realise that I may in fact be autistic myself. To have 18+ years of unexplainable feelings both explained and validated has genuinely made my life so much more understandable and enjoyable.
@@RustyVaperGameplay it takes multiple years and a tremendous ammount of effort and for what? I don't need the support that could be offered to me. I manage well day to day. But I should do it to justify myself to people like you? No thanks.
i am on the autism spectrum myself. this is a big step for all of you. i am hoping and praying that all of this goes without any more hitches. anna it is time for you to do some things for yourself, your experiences tought me a lot about being a better self advocate. it seems like yesterday that andy was a young kid refusing school and now look at this. he is doing grown up things. you guys have been on my prayer list for a while and this is an answer to prayer. like someone always says keep moving forward. best of luck and best regards parker
YESYESYES!! I'm so happy for you all, especially Andy! To come full circle from refusing school to going regularly, coping with a house move, school moves, social worker changes, carer changes even eating new foods, that boy can conquer it all and i have no doubt in my mind that he won't give this new chapter the biggest effort going and come out of it an even greater young man than he already is. This transition is such a massive moment for everyone but you'll always be his parents and he'll always be your son, all that happens now is that relationship blossoming, you'll obviously see him less because he's not in your home but every time you speak to him and go out and do things with him will be so incredibly special. Anna, i'm not a mama but i've worked as a support worker with the special needs community for years and i've seen how the bonds between parent and child change greatly but always become so much more special. It becomes stronger and is an incredibly positive experience for all parties no matter how much you miss each other. Love to all of you and i hope the transition is smooth and as positive for you all as it can be!
Congratulations to you all! Hope Andy copes well with the move and is looked after well💖 My girlfriend's brother (think I've mentioned him before) is around the same age and spectrum position as Andy, and it's getting that time where it's time for family to consider adult supported living environments for him. He's already in a similar type of environment within his boarding school, where he receives all the help he needs while also being encouraged to build his independence. And he goes out on a lot of trips too! He's really enjoying it there and they're really good with him, so we hope the next stage is just as nice for him.
Wishing Andy all the best in his new home. From one Mum to another: Love & strength to Anna, it's such a huge transition for her too. Enjoy having lots of happy son & mum times in this new chapter. 💕
Thank you for sharing this news with us. Sending you, Anna and Andy positive vibes during this big transition. I noticed in the beginning “episode 1 ?”. Does that mean you are considering vlogging more? Would love to see it.
It's so amazing that Andy is transitioning to supported living. From the kid who was too anxious to go to his grandad's house to hitting a huge milestone like that, incredible! Give my love to Anna, it's always hard to watch them fly the nest but throw disabilities in the mix, and it becomes even harder to let them go. I'm sure he'll thrive though ❤️ best of luck with everything.
Anna, do not worry for Andy, He is, basically, now at a Stage, moving out to adult assisted Care, that *I have not yet reached* ! the fact Andy is ready to take this Step is a massive Credit to your tirelessness in Raising Him, so, take comfort in that He, thanks to your wonderful Care, is at a Stage that even some *twice* His age are not ready for Yet! Andy will Thrive, He will love it there! so do not worry. Prayers Sent for Andy, and for You. God bless, and, again, awesome getting Andy Ready for this Massive Step! You have done Brilliantly.
As someone who has ASD Andy is doing amazing and its great everyone is allowing him to go at his own pace! Anna - I am sending you the biggest hugs! You are so strong ❤️
This is great news and will be great for you all. My family have been through this. Its hard to let them go but is the best for everyone. My Mum was 20 when she had my older brother who was autistic. he didn't move to a care home until he was in his mid 20s. Him and the family found it hard at first was best for everyone and he became so independent. Also yay for visiting flying tiger I work for them
My brother has been in supported living for the past 12 years since turning 18. Initially it was tough for him because he would get used to staff for months/years, then they would be replaced and he would need to get used to new staff, but after a while it just becomes normal. He goes back to our parents house every Sunday for dinner and they take him down the pub. He sleeps over on his birthday/over christmas and he goes on a caravan holiday twice a year. Our experience with the staff at NAS has been very positive overall, they regularly keep us updated about how he is doing and where he has been. There are some things which could be improved (ex. some staff not doing laundry properly) but we can't really complain.
I've been watching this channel for 4 years now, I'm so proud of you all! Thank you for keeping us in the loop on everything, wishing the absolute best for the family and for Andy's move!
I'm so glad, Andy's finding fun and is showing more independence. I feel for Anna, though I know that she has a hard time not being with Andy. Best to both of you ❤️
What a big step for everyone. You guys are all amazing. It sounds like you’ve found a wonderful program and place for Andy. He will love doing all those activities.
Oh my goodness. I am so pleased for the both of you to have found something that works for everybody long term! Andy will love it and Anna will be able to have more time to do the things she enjoys, whilst also seeing Andy too of course.
I'm sorry you're broken, Anna. I know this will be sad for you, but this is where your adult life without being his carer begins. Yes get those surgeries to get as unbroken as you can. And do resting. You've done a lot of difficult work in the past 18 years, so when you get the chance, you need and deserve to do a lot of resting. He won't forget you. That'd be impossible.
All the best and positive thoughts to you all! Hope this will bring in an exciting new chapter for you all and can create new happy memories. Anna and yourself Kev have done a great job with Andy and it is because of that he can take this step. Take care and remember to look after yourselves during this.
WOW nice to see Andy getting there and nice to see you both finally have you time to do things you both love and Anna be strong you will get there, go and enjoy you time now
I’ve been watching your channel for years and he’s come so far, that’s an amazing step so well done Andy! (And as a fellow mum, well done Anna 😅). Hope you all adjust well 😊
I said this before and I will say it again: Anna, listen to Kevin. Andy is a full grown adult now and he needs his independance and this is good for him to do so. Keeping him at home forever was never viable, nor is it healthy, as you and Kevin aren't always gonna be around for him in life and Andy needs time away from his parents. Plus, you now have your own life to do what you want to do, including that surgery you put off for years. Definitely get that booked in! Think of all the adventures you and Kevin can go on, London, Denmark (I seriously reccomend Billund), Tokyo, Ireland, Germany, even Disneyland Paris! You guys can even go on the Haunted Mansion ride!!!! Nows your chance to do all those things! As for hobbies, isn't gaming a hobby? If you're looking at more to do, there's felting, crochet, resin craft, animation, painting, the list is endless.
What a fantastic time for Andy, it must be so scary but so exciting for all involved. You've both done a fantastic job and he's a credit to you both. Get fixed Anna now is the time
I'm so happy for you all! Life is a journey and growth is part of it. I can't wait to hear about how all the new adventures turn out. As for a hobby for Anna maybe macrama?
That's such great news about Andy! You should be so proud to have got him to this level of independence. When he does start living there full time, I recommend a holiday that's just the two of you. Get yourselves some substantial rest and pure fun time. It sounds like he will enjoy life more in his new home too. Being his carer would only have gotten harder and harder the longer he carried on living with you into adulthood, and letting go would only have gotten harder too.
I'm grateful you took time to tell us, I've been following since my daughter was diagnosed at 2, she is now 6, I feel for Anna and I wish u all the best. 🥰 u guys have really made me feel not alone when going through this my daughter is non verbal and has significant learning disability as well as the ASD . I hope the transition goes as smoothly as possible for both u guys and Andy 💗

Im so happy for Andy and your family 👪. My friends sons serverly autistic his 19, just gone into shared living. She vlogs on instagram, and some perverted man was stalking her, saying she was his wife in a past life 🤯. Then, he found out where her sons new home is. Turned up when he was going on an outing saying that's his father when the poor boys dad only passed away last year. Sam freaked out into a rage melt down, then hit the van. Police came and arrested the man but we all know how pathetic AVO are. So please 🙏 be careful with people who ask to many questions. In a good note Andy will be so bissy and have new to be best mates. And you and your wife can finally not be worried about Andy and re start things you love.
