That is so kind of you. The strange thing is that I am responding to what ai am hearing from the instrument. I guess something about each instrument has qualities that trigger something inside of me that takes me into these special spaces. It is never rehearsed only responded to. Hi Simeon. I've just bought Heirloom, mainly on the strength of these amazing demos you do. Everything you play just sounds perfect for the patch you've selected. You truly are a skilful talented player. Spitfire Audio ought to hire you to do their demos or at least give you a free copy.

Bret, yes I go into these with a blank slate of sorts, it allows me to be free and respond authentically to the sounds I am hearing. Sometimes I might have a thought or a theme but you never really know. Thanks so much for the kind encouragement, it means so much. Joyfully!
@@PraiseTracks I was looking at other video reviews of Heirloom and sometimes they'll have a short recorded piece they made at the end of the video. And then I look at your video, and the entire 37 minutes is just a beautiful concert (the ending was awesome). Your chord progressions are just on another level and come so effortlessly. Even the Spitfire staff can't demo a library the way you can. You're one of a kind.

Thanks John, growing up I wish I would have gotten into practicing a little more as there is so much to learn and experience. I am amazed when I listen to Oscar Peterson, Chic Corea, Herbie Hancock and many others, thinking of the hours they invested.

Simeon, you grab your 10th intervals so easily--back in the day, were you ever able to reach an 11th?
You know I never thought about it, I just reach for the note and hope it lands somewhere musical. Lately I have been finding myself really reaching for those wide open voicings in my left hand, it seems it just provides a solid support for what I am playing up top.
Funny story was when I was getting ready to be enrolled in elementary school the counselor told my mother I might have trouble in school holding my pencil and such because of my hands 🙌🏻 I love how God always has the last word, and frankly I hear Him laughing each time I share that story. 🤓

Hello Troy, I am so glad you enjoyed watching. Spitfire libraries are really wonderful to experience. So as far as reselling, I am afraid that Spitfire does not provide an allowance for that. Great Idea to revist the highlights. How about bringing back CHORUS for an oncore?
Oh definitely, it takes me a little while to pull the livestream down after it processes, that is when I can edit these flashbacks. Also TH-cam doesn’t always promote livestreams as much as stand alone videos so it gives an opportunity for more viewers to see the content.

Unify is a plugin ? That combines plugins ?
Oh yes, and it can also serve as a standalone host so that you can create entire setups when performing live. You can also use it inside of Logic if you are on the Mac platform and it can serve as sort of a wrapper to allow you to use VST and VST3 plugins as well as Audio Units. It is also a very efficient in helping to manage CPU when using multiple plugins inside of a layer.

What brand and model piano is it?
Steven, it is a Bechstein upright that was recorded at Church Studios. It has three velocity layers.Here is some more information from something I posted recently to VI-Control.

Clarkson, this was one of the many times I follow the sound. When I hear tones and textures they somehow guide me into these types of improvisations. These improvisations draw on the vast amount of musical snippets that are tucked away in my memories waiting for the right time to come through my fingers, I am amazed and grateful when that happens as it is such a special moment.

@@PraiseTracks Did you have to work on hand flexibility a long time ago to be able to play that with the left hand?
I can barely do it and then my hand hurts a bit afterwards. Maybe if I practice some kind of hand stretching.
Not really anything out of the ordinary, I just try and go for it. I think some flexibility exercises would be a good thing to help avoid injury.

Oh yes, it has to be my favorite of what I would call a modern hymn. I will never forget the first time I heard it, such a powerful, affirming message that has held me up many times.
