You are right! I will admit, I got carried away with making too many Super Cancels in this video lol, but when I make another Ryu TAS, I will definitely incorporate different combos (Both Standard and Super Cancel), general shenanigans, etc. Glad you like these TASes, and thanks for the feedback!
Ah thank you! Glad you liked the TAS, hopefully in the future I will add both more variety and fun for a Ryu TAS 4, M. Bison TAS 3 and so on. Also, I loved your Ken SF2T TAS, keep up the good work!
@JLW2490 Thanks alot! When I was making this TAS, I was surprised that it worked too; Zangief stood there for a good number of frames so I was just, "Might as well lol". Thanks for the comment!
And it was on that day that every fighter searched for mighty sheng long, though finding such a well hidden character proved more of a chore than a simple task.
Not too sure what was typed, but here goes :P If you're saying I repeated too many combos, you are right! It was at this point where I just figured out how to combo Supers. I got a little carried away lol. In a future Ryu TAS, I will try to use more variety with moves/specials/Supers/etc. Though for some part I just like spamming one move for fun, in this case, I spammed the same move because it was fun at the time :P Next TAS will be better!
Ya, keep it up, include some long block strings too, You can do the same long combo with c.lk c.mp c.mk super, but if they block everything, you can keep it going and do more chip after the super; like dash punch, c.hk, fireball, or undercut, c.mk, tatsu. ect. Would love to see a long block string chip finish for kill
Since this is a Tool Assisted video, I can slow down the game to frame-by-frame to use moves/grabs at the last possible moment. Also, I can save at each frame, so in the case I mess up/get hit, I just go back to the last saved point, and try something else. Thus, doing a Medium Punch -> Medium Kick xx Super is actually very easy in a TAS-related sense. In real time/a real game, doing these combos is near impossible.
Again, not too sure what you're saying, but here goes! Sometimes the AI refuses to be comboed (Ex, Zangief, so annoying lol), so I may spend time just jumping/empty shoryukens/etc, in order to bring out the best result for what I aim for (Make the AI jump/move/etc.) Though you know what it takes, seems like you have made some TASes on your channel, even some with SDR it seems! Thanks for the comment/input, even if I can't understand :P
I know Ryu doesn't have have the some neat DP combos as ken, but could have put in a few of those in place of fireball finishes. cross up fj.HK, c.MP, MP, M.DP keep making these though, always nice to see something new. I'll host one in channel if you want, and it's a really nice one.
pretty nice, I just think c.MK (chain to) fireball/super was a little overused I would be cool to see some odd combos, or blocked combos, like: c.lp, lp, lk, c.lk, c.mk, tatsu or lp, c.mp, nj.HK, air tatsu I think long blocked chains are just as fun to watch too, like when opponent is in corner you keep up a series of combos barrage for a long time racking up chip damage.
@freddysanchezful Thanks, but remember this is a TAS, so this means I go back and correct any mistakes I make, such as getting hit, missing a cross-up, etc., so this isn't really me playing, this video is more for entertainment purposes.
Paulo Santiago ...you realize that was probably intended to happen? The creator can manipulate every single action they and the computer does. That was most likely done for a laugh. And frankly? I’m impressed with it.
hi there xCurvx, heres the question i wish to know the answer many years ago: how do you cancel the normal move (like crouch med kick) into super move in this game? i have been tried to do this countless time but have never success once. is that only possible while using the tools? thank you for your help
sorry friend for use portuguese comment in your vídeo I know that you is american or other country but excellent TAS friend thanks for your comment in my Ken TAS (bad in my opinion)
Yes, at the time that the game was released people though that shen long will be an available character but it didn't happen, since that a lot o people around internet talked about this legend and then, many years later we got sf4 with this new character named gouken
Theoretically, yes. Any (to my knowledge, at least when it comes fighting game TAS'es) combo seen in a TAS should be able to be done in real-time in a real non-TAS playthrough. That being said, some combos are easier than others. For example, let's say you want to do a crouching medium kick xx Super (By "xx", I mean cancelling one move into another). This is one of the more easier TAS and non-TAS combos to do. Now, let's say you want to do a jumping hard kick -> forward + hard punch -> crouching medium kick xx Super. This is an example of a slightly more difficult, but still simple TAS/non-TAS combo to do. As the combos become more "flashy", the harder it is to perform said combos in a non-TAS playthrough. For example, in my Fei Long TAS video, all of those combos done are theoretically possible to do in real-time, but extremely difficult in timing and execution (not to mention how sometimes moves won't cancel into Supers in the way you want them to).
xCurvx Ohh thanks that clears up so much, but does something in a tas playthrough make those seemingly difficult combos easier to do. Eg jump(crossover)fierce kick, ryu's solar pexis, crouch high punch into super. Also when you perform these combos what emulator do you use and do you use an arcade stick. Lastly is it harder to perform both fancy and non fancy looking combos on a non tas playthrough with say a keyboard?
By doing a TAS, these really impossible combos done in real-time/in non-TAS settings become really, really easy to do. For example, the combo that you mentioned (crossover HK -> Left/Right + HP -> crouching HP xx Super) is extremely easy to do in a TAS (specifically, with the use of save states, re-recording, etc.). In a real/non-TAS setting, you can (along with others, such as myself, or pro players like Daigo in his Super Turbo days, Nogouchi, YuuVega, Aniken, etc.) do these combos with a little bit of practice. When I do these combos for TAS purposes, I use my keyboard. The emulator I use is Final Burn Alpha Re-Recording (or FBA RR for short). You can find this emulator on the tasvideos site if you're intersted. As with comparing combos in terms of difficulty, this is what I would say: When making a TAS video, I find that the keyboard is much, much easier and better to use than a controller, joystick or such. When I'm playing in real-time/non-TAS, I prefer using a joystick for making combos. Fei Long's combos and Zangief's/T. Hawk's inputs are far easier to complete on a joystick than using a controller or keyboard. In all, for making a TAS, keyboard > everything. When playing for fun/non-TAS stuff, joystick > controler > keyboard.
No problem, glad I could answer some of your questions! If you want to see better quality TAS videos, I highly suggest checking out SDR's videos, found here: th-cam.com/users/superdrecordsvideos FYI, he's the one that showed me how to TAS ^^
1/60 of a second to simultaneously culminate the combo input (final commands must land on that 60th of a second. Never gets easier. Renda kara (chain comboxxSuper ) cancel is even harder.
That was an awesome finish at the end when you did a shoryuken on Akuma and he went flying into that statue which shattered on impact!
Thank you SDR, I owe it all to you, though!
Thank you for teaching me everything I know about TASes!
And thanks for being patient with me :P

What does TAS stands for?
I greatly appreciate the insights into what goes into making a TAS video. This one was entertaining.
@JLW2490 Thanks alot! When I was making this TAS, I was surprised that it worked too; Zangief stood there for a good number of frames so I was just, "Might as well lol". Thanks for the comment!

Great stuff missed the good old days of going to the arcades

This theme goes with EVERYTHING
The Guile’s Theme
I'll admit, Ryu's ending is much better in this version than in SFII, it's smooth in transition~ =) and the music sounds a lot better!
Love Blanka's theme music on SSF2 Turbo :) *thumbs up*
You must defeat sheng long to stand a chance.
Not too sure what was typed, but here goes :P

This is certainly one of the better TAS'es of HSF2.Those super moves and finishing Akuma and Honda was amazing. I loved it.

But c.MK xx Hadoken is like baby's first cancel into special?
It was decided by fighters that if they must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance... that Sheng Long must be some immortal monster.
This guy is good
You know this is tool assisted?

Don't bullshit a bullshitter.
This may very well be the first TAS of Hyper Street Fighter II...to break 2,000,000 points. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@SkeletonMan7 lol thanks! Before I got more into L4D2/Killing Floor I spent some of my time making TASes :p
7:01 WHAT THE HELL???
I Know you used a Load State to pull this off, but SERIOUSLY How did you do this??? IMPOSSIBLE
He's like the ai 😂😂 doing impossible throws
Back before there was DLC, there was Street Fighter 2

What emulator did you use to play the game?
ke buena jugada el señor ryu
More practise needed I think.
sorry friend for use portuguese comment in your vídeo I know that you is american or other country but excellent TAS friend thanks for your comment in my Ken TAS (bad in my opinion)
I don't know, how are you consistently linking the medium punch-> low medium kick into the super? Even in HD remix this is next to impossible
Lee Cochran It's a matter of timing, that's all...
What emulator, ROM and such did you use?
Gerardo Andrés Barragán crreno ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Who voiced Guile? Geoff Ramsey?
Balrog and the Announcer
Arutica yep
Arutica idk why people think Guile sounds stupid, but tbh, I prefer that voice, too bad it's not in Ultra Street Fighter 2 >_>
@@LedYouAshtray depends of japan or english voice
@@gianangelomunizagavazquez2937 oh oops, I apologise for that comment. I made that comment a year ago.
LOL xcurvx has just proved to me that you have to beat more than RYU Dragon's Punvh to stand a chance
Cool
What is TAS means?
I take it "Sheng Long" refers to Ryu's Dragon Punch?
Sheng Long is (if u know Ryu and Kens backgound or SSF4) Goken or another master similar.
Yes, at the time that the game was released people though that shen long will be an available character but it didn't happen, since that a lot o people around internet talked about this legend and then, many years later we got sf4 with this new character named gouken
ColoqueNombreAqui No, ryu is referring to his shoryuken, sheng long is just a mistranslation
EdOpErNoRuLeZ That was what i meant (¬__¬)
ColoqueNombreAqui learn how to express yourself properly then
Geez, Vega didn't put up much of a fight! haha

So after reading the description i want to know if i were to play a non tas playthrough of this on my laptop, would these combos still be possible?
Theoretically, yes. Any (to my knowledge, at least when it comes fighting game TAS'es) combo seen in a TAS should be able to be done in real-time in a real non-TAS playthrough. That being said, some combos are easier than others.
For example, let's say you want to do a crouching medium kick xx Super (By "xx", I mean cancelling one move into another). This is one of the more easier TAS and non-TAS combos to do.

Lastly is it harder to perform both fancy and non fancy looking combos on a non tas playthrough with say a keyboard?

xCurvx This explained so much, now i understand how it all works thanks. I like these tas vids aswell keep them up.
