      Yes, it's true. The DocaPole (Paid link amzn.to/3Xvva3d) is the one I use. It's got locks on the handle to keep the pole from slipping back into itself when extended. I've tried cheaper versions on the market and am disappointed they don't stay locked in place. And once you own one, you'll most likely use it for the rest of your career. So it's a good investment to have the proper tools for a job you will do again and again. NOTE: If you are a homeowner, it still makes sense owning one as a deep clean from a professional cleaning company will cost 3x to 5x the price of the pole - and you will use it two to four times per year.

    I have a client who has 15-20 ft ceilings with 2 fans. I dusted them they were so dirty, so dust went everywhere. What’s a better way?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is tricky with the ceilings so high. There are Swiffer Ceiling fan dusters that might do the trick amzn.to/45aDfzC (paid link). You could lightly mist what ever you are using to dust with and that will catch some of the dust. Once you have cleaned the really bad dust, the next time won't be nearly so bad! Let me know what works for you!

    We are probably a house cleaner's nightmare! 😱
    There's several reasons I believe this...
    1) There is a ceiling fan in almost every room, even the master bathroom!
    2) The 16 foot cathedral ceiling in the great room (where the previous owners also plopped a ceiling fan).
    3) A 2nd story entry chandelier and window above the door.
    4) We're snake breeders
    5) We also own 2 dogs!
    One ShihTzu who barks at everyone until he gets accustomed to you.
    Our Bulldog doesn't really move so just her dander to deal with!
    Note:
    That being said, I DO NOT expect the house cleaner to clean the ceiling fan that is 16 ft from the floor, the window sill above the front door or the chandelier.
    Those are things I'd schedule with her every other month or how ever often she feels it's necessary.
    I mean I'm not touching these areas, and yes...I want them clean but I also don't want my house cleaner breaking her back every time she comes to my house!
    They don't accumulate that much dust in between cleanings. At least not enough that guests or I notice! 😉
    I also appreciate the people who help me out, whether I pay them (contractors) or not (friends/family that help) I always find little ways of showing my appreciation in some form...a tip or gift or just letting them know I appreciate what they do, especially around holidays and their birthday.

      LOL yes! They do. We have 30 snakes now. All corn snakes, so much more docile than rat snakes. I realize that doesn't matter to most people. But to answer your question, yes...they are all in a rack system that they can't escape from. I mean, unless they suddenly grow thumbs, than maybe! They're in a separate room in a finished basement, so it wouldn't be necessary for someone to go in there if they didn't want to or had a major fear.
      It is perfectly secure though!

    • @AskAngelaBrown

      Yes, it's the DocaPole and here is the paid link amzn.to/3KUkMfR - We use this one for all our deep cleaning 4 times per year.
      Fun Fact: I bought a bicycle handlebar attachment amzn.to/3Ou64ym that holds a smartphone (purchased separately) and that phone holder fits right on the end of the DocaPole. So, if you want to film something 24 feet up in the air you can. I used it to film the gutters of the house to see if they needed to be cleaned. 👍👍👍

    I mean no disrespect, but I don't think this is a very good idea, I tried something similar to this about 3 weeks ago and the problem is, ceiling fans move. Therefore, as you attempt to dust the ceiling fan it moves so it doesn't do a good job. Also, what little dust comes off of the fan just falls on your head and in your eyes. To avoid getting dust in your eyes you turn your head which means you cannot really see what you are doing in the first place. 😞😞 If I am wrong, please show an actual video of you cleaning the fans your way. Again, I mean no disrespect as I have watched many videos that you have put out and I think they are fantastic. But this one, not so much. With that said, thank you for all your cleaning tips, I have used a few. 🙂

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What is the soil you are trying to remove? What type of surface do you have on your walls? Paneling? Flat paint? Wallpaper etc? As far as tools go, I recommend a Doca Pole with a Wall Washer. This is the kit we use as professionals with the 24 extension - you don't need one that tall if it's only 8ft. amzn.to/3N4d1VW and this is the wall washer attachment we use amzn.to/3u1Y5iw - you can use it wet or dry. And if your walls are only 8 ft, you may be able to just use your hand with the wall dusting/washing attachment and stand on a step ladder. Let me know how it works for you.

How do you suggest cleaning open floor to ceiling post construction clean to get construction dust and dirt off tall tiled fire places or tall open foyer or glass stairwells railing that open from basement all the way up to the upper floor! Post construction clean is lot harder as is and these type of heights create even more difficulties! Any and all suggestions are welcomed! Thank you. Looking forward to a video covering this.

    • @AskAngelaBrown

      The type of cleaning that you mention may require scaffolding or telescoping wands. If you have a rare job a Doca Pole with a Cobweb brush may be your best bet. amzn.to/398zzTD The cobweb brush is the round green one at the top of this picture. And the extension pole goes up 24 feet.

      An extension wand is probably a safer bet. Here is the kit I use. amzn.to/2zHyenB And it has attachments for the windows, cobwebs, ceiling fans, chandeliers etc.
      That way you can clean the windows from the ground floor without risking your life on a ladder. Also, for the tall and very high windows, you may consider hiring a professional window cleaner. You don't have to pay them to do the windows you can reach, just the very tall ones you can't. (Although they may give you a better rate to include all the windows in the job.)

      @@lorihollands2301 Hire someone to paint your ceilings, and request that they seal it with a decent primer coat first. Tobacco leaves gunky residue on surfaces and is almost impossible to remove without tearing up the ceiling. You also get that gross smell every time it rains if you don't seal it. The former owners of my house were heavy smokers and the ceilings and walls had a depressing sticky orange tint. (Even the blinds were ruined, had to toss all of them.) I talked to several professional house cleaners and rehabbers, and they recommended painting over it.
