I am so glad that "Inappropriate Activity Detected" thing was an actual bug, because I was losing my mind thinking I was gonna get banned for doing nothing wrong. It would just randomly appear, whether I was actually playing online or not.
I got it several times while I was helping people fight bosses. I was wondering if someone I helped had mods active or something, since I made sure to disable all of mine back before I started the file I wanted to go into the DLC. Glad it is theoretically fixed
@@alearnedman Same, only mod I ever had was seamless co-op, but prior to the DLC, I completely wiped Elden Ring and my saves, to make sure absolutely no modded files were left over.
The option turn on after DLC update even though I had it off before, I only notice it because it also turn my motion blur on and I went into settings to check. People who don't have good enough PC might have issue with ray tracing randomly turned on I guess.
for those wondering i've been consistently using both the smithscript daggers and circus throughout my playthrough, and the range seems to be about 50% longer. (obviously take this info for what it is: just mere perception and no data to support it)
Seems pretty accurate, I used them both and the range is a good 25 to 50% longer. Before the range was so poor it barely outranged some colossal pokes.

that spirit summon patch is a GODSEND. i'd summon my mimic tear and he'd genuinely do nothing but stand there and walk around for like 5 minutes before finding the boss
Every new game or big patch in the soulslike series has at least one case where buffs or status build-up from one weapon is applied to the weapon held in the other hand. You'd think they'd be checking on that by now. I also wish they wouldn't overnerf so much. There's a middleground between too strong and unnecessarily weak and it sure looks like Rolling Sparks and perfume weapons in general blew right past it.
The backhand blade fix is referring to its uncharged heavy attack. Previously this has a massive delay before you’d be able to roll out of it for some reason.

it could potentially be a bit more than that, it felt like a lot of the npc summons were just extremely stupid. Leda and Dane were borderline useless when i would summon them, even as human shields they werent very good
I’m sad it doesn’t seem to have the gods layers true combos. Running r1 into free sim downward r1… plus one or two others Maybe I’m just bad but I used to land them sometimes with godslayer
the carian sword imo is performing best at 50 int and some dex. At 50 int, its sorcery scaling is the highest available, lets you do a staff of loss x carian sword setup that's just as good as double staff, but with an r1 and impaling thrust After 50 int, you only gain 1 point of AR per int point, despite its S scaling. Seems like it was made to be THE casting option for 50 int aow builds
did you mean “50 int aow builds” as in spellsword-type builds? i realize 50 int is the soft cap for weapons with the magic affinity, but i haven’t had the chance to try the sword yet. i see there’s still no actual sorcery scaling on it though, so
@@animal5602 there is sorcery scaling on it, it's just hidden for whatever dumb reason. But you get more spell damage the more int you have like any staff, though beyond 50, other staves outscale it and yea i meant it as spellsword builds. It has always been awkward to make those builds have casting because 50 is so low that you really needed a dual staff setup.. but going beyond 50 didn't improve the aow attacks. now though, an innate buff staff+carian sword setup feels really good for those builds
Yeah that weapon is beyond busted. Had a duel in colosseum and I killed opponent mid animation, still got hit and died. He then died after the pin animation ends, got a defeat rather than stalemate smh
I'm a bit sad at the perfume nerfs. They nerfed it to the ground. What they should have done was just reduce the damage it by around 50-60%. The nerfed damage sucks and made it not really worth using anymore compared to most of the other new weapons.
And i was planning of doing perfumer build 😅 i didnt care for the broken strat but is still sad.... Hope theyll change them again so to be viable again
Carian Sorcery Sword is actually fun now with the S scaling in int. Comparable to carian regal scepter at 40 int or lower, and only slightly worse at 80 A neat quirk I noticed, if you dual wield it in your offhand with another rapier, your L2 gets overridden, it’ll no longer be your ash of war button, but become your spell casting button

@@ethanleffler9969 yeah you at least had to free-aim the perfume at the ground at point-blank, which is a decent amount of setup with some risk/difficulty. Thorns is as simple as it gets. I have like 299 sorc scaling on the guilty staff I had lying around, and it’s by far my highest damage option, easily stronger than lucky multi-hits with ADLS, Burn O Flame, etc, but much faster with no setup. It should be strong, it’s a fun and cool spell, but not that strong.
The key with the golden hippo that I found to avoid his grab attack was to aim the dodge for either corner of his mouth. Glad that they changed that though it was bs
Nobody was using those two throwing weapons because the range was exceptionally awful. I’m pretty sure there were a few longer colossal weapons that hit further. They were basically just bad melee weapons.
We asked for a Nerf, not an extinction 😂 Although, yes, some of these really did need a nerf but it was not as much as the weapon itself, but the things that can go with it
rolling sparks still get the same amount of explosions if you aim them forward instead of into the ground. So it's still very high damage against it's intended targets, i.e. large monsters, but from my testing it does less than before which happens due to the second fix when it would sometimes hit twice i guess. against humanoids and in pvp, the damage is minimal, you can sometimes still hit enemies twice, but it's best to just use it as a zoning tool now.
Stun locked fire knight with it. Comparing it to stormblade, which costs 4 less fp, it will do less damage against stationary targets, but a bit more against enemies moving either forward or backward. Also. Big Bois still take good damage for the cost.
I'm really really glad to see Chase and Lost doing more vids together and helping each other out. It makes me happy seeing my two favorite ER content creators working together

I was trying out the smithscript cirques this morning. Range was good as long as the opponent was on the same plain....It did not connect at all if there was any kind of up or down level change.
Really disappointed that the Smithscript weapon scaling got pretty gutted, especially since the Erdsteel Dagger has the same effect and that was okay. At least Claws of Night remains untouched (for now).
As far as I could tell the bug with "Inappropriate Activity Detected" was an issue with EAC. It HEAVILY effected linux and the steamdeck a lot. Once the DLC came out I had done so many different things to try and fix it on my end that I ended up reinstalling the game and then deleting the EAC folder entire then verified my files and that ended up fixing it for me on my Linux PC but not for my steamdeck. Glad to hear that they finally fixed it completely.
Carian sword is now one of the best catalysts, still not as good as an actual high tier staff (which is good) but it's now a very good spell blade choice.
I really enjoy the Black Knife Tiche personally, so I saw this bug a lot. When fighting a boss especially, I'd see when the max health cut off that's always applied with the Blade of Death skill, the health would go back up some too when the effect stopped. I initially thought it was a visual thing cuz it's reducing max health, but I was right in my gut all along, it seems. I think this was an issue for a very long time, as I would see this pre-DLC too.
Hmm. Let’s see how this plays out going forward. I was enjoying having an offhand perfume bottle with my martial arts. Might be time to try out the smithscripts. Shame I won’t get the bonkers AR from a cold build anymore.
I was using the Smithscript Cirque on my main runthrough just because I loved the vibe, and they had to have at least doubled the range. It seriously used to stop five feet from your face, this is massive
I was hoping to do more on my Arcane build with the Chicken Leg, but alas it's been nerfed... Maybe keep using Elenora's Pole Blade with Rotten Wing, Alexanders shard, and the Lord of Bleed thingy...

Honestly the hard nerf wave was needed for some things. But the smith script and other already bad weapons mixed with all of the general nerfs that made things totally useless is rough.
I understand this is an emergency patch they made super fast but goddamn I hope they buff perfumes cause it could be so good if the damage wasn't so lackluster for it's moveset
I felt that the smithscript cirque on invasions were strong when using flame art infusion. Usually with endure I could out trade hosts/ sun bros. I actually really liked the throw attacks. Good for poking from a distance and keeping pressure on when they’re running away. Throwing them while jumping away is also nice. The throw range buff is definitely welcome.
The rolling sparks nerf definitely was needed but it was over done imo. I haven't tested anything out personally just yet but from what I saw it's unusable now. I'm assuming it's worse in pve by a longshot as well
The Perfume Bottles they fixed the one shot by removing all but 1 explosion if you aimed it straight down, and that was the change to rolling sparks itself. OnlyWaifu's video reviewing the patch shows the collision boxes of the attack with before and after to show it getting modified. Wouldn't surprise me if they also changed it to be like Radagon's Rings of Light, where if you got hit with any of the 16 collision boxes you'd take the damage you'd only take 1 instance of damage.
I'm so glad I stayed up to beat the last boss last night, I knew they were gonna murder my lightning perfume when I saw the update warning, rip rolling spark, i'll miss you forever
A lot of incantations needs a buff: Bloom, divine butterflies, divine beast tornado, divine bird feathers, rain of fire, watchful spirit. All of them do practically no damage and it's sad. Also furious blade of ansbach doesn't proc bleed.
that tiche bug has been in the game since day 1 of elden ring release too. crazy that they just got around to fixing it 2 years later but still a good fix nonetheless

@@luhcsgrimm8857 literally all they had to do to fix it would have been make it spit less hit boxes if it collided with walls or something first. So if you shoot it straight it should still do normal dmg per cloud. If you shoot it at the ground it should do one maybe two clouds only. Boom, no more one shots but weapons are still good.

for the backhand blades "fixed a bug that prevented players from cancelling the attack recovery of two-handed strong attacks by rolling for certain weapons of the backhand blades weapon type" patch note, uncharged dual-wield heavy attacks on the scimitar-looking backhand blades had a weird bug where you wouldn't be able to roll for a solid second after the attack came out. you could keep attacking basically right after, but the roll delay was unreasonably long. glad they patched that, they feel a lot better now
Due to the recent perfume nerfs, I think only the deadly poison one is viable now since it can be used to activate poison buffs(shroom helm, rot talisman and poison glove) for a huge damage boost to your other weapons
Hoping we get to see a Smithscript showcase soon. Feel like these weapons are much stronger then they're getting credit for. Especially the shield. Having it in your left hand and uses the ash sets and up a delayed attack. It opens up tons of roll catch and mix up opportunities. The hammer is hoot to yeet at things as well.
The backhand blade change is amazing. I've been using them since the patch dropped, and lemme tell you my man, after doing an R2, you were rooted in place for a *long* time, unable to do anything. Basically made it unusable vs anything that wouldn't get staggered. I knew it felt off, glad it was a bug.
The summon NPC bug is most likely refering to sir Thiollier's summon at the final boss fight. He would just stand still without entering the boss arena after being summoned even if you start the boss fight.
I've seen streamers outrun the hippo's grab by running backwards and to the side a little. I felt like this fight was meant to be done on horseback, the smaller hippos are trivial when you are mounted.
The back hand blade dodge delay was crazy. When two handing if you did an uncharged r2 you'd be stuck in tecover for probably 1.5 seconds or so. So its a welcome change.
Im just happy I got a few invasion in with the fire knights greatsword before it got nerfed. I started NG+6 and wanted to get to the dlc as fast a possible and used the sword for Varre's quest. I dont pvp but that thing was easy mode

Also, the busted bow being forgotten/missed is fitting for how overlooked bows are in Fromsoft games. Wonder if they'll get it in the next hotfix.
Chase my man, Ansbach’s longbow right now is the best bow. It’s ash of war allows you to deal a 1500 damage with a single arrow due to good ol fromsoft spaghetti code and instant status effect.
I noticed that Tiche was healing the bosses and stopped using her even though everyone said she wasn't healing nobody. See, I'm not crazy! Will be able to call my girl again. Let's go!
The bug with the black knight dagger or the summon, I notice with radanh, when he change to second phase and cleanse all effects he appears with more health that the one he have in first phase

smithscript daggers were okay b4 this patch but now they feel awful to use, so little dmg.
I believe the gazing finger change is a buff, I deal more damage post patch with the same str faith build!

2:40 for me i noticed that on golden vow. If i used golden vow and then went to use rolling sparks it dealt no damage.

Really disappointed that the Smithscript weapon scaling got pretty gutted, especially since the Erdsteel Dagger has the same effect and that was okay. At least Claws of Night remains untouched (for now).

As far as I could tell the bug with "Inappropriate Activity Detected" was an issue with EAC. It HEAVILY effected linux and the steamdeck a lot. Once the DLC came out I had done so many different things to try and fix it on my end that I ended up reinstalling the game and then deleting the EAC folder entire then verified my files and that ended up fixing it for me on my Linux PC but not for my steamdeck. Glad to hear that they finally fixed it completely.
Carian sword is now one of the best catalysts, still not as good as an actual high tier staff (which is good) but it's now a very good spell blade choice.

I really enjoy the Black Knife Tiche personally, so I saw this bug a lot. When fighting a boss especially, I'd see when the max health cut off that's always applied with the Blade of Death skill, the health would go back up some too when the effect stopped. I initially thought it was a visual thing cuz it's reducing max health, but I was right in my gut all along, it seems. I think this was an issue for a very long time, as I would see this pre-DLC too.

Might be time to try out the smithscripts. Shame I won’t get the bonkers AR from a cold build anymore.

I was using the Smithscript Cirque on my main runthrough just because I loved the vibe, and they had to have at least doubled the range. It seriously used to stop five feet from your face, this is massive
I was hoping to do more on my Arcane build with the Chicken Leg, but alas it's been nerfed... Maybe keep using Elenora's Pole Blade with Rotten Wing, Alexanders shard, and the Lord of Bleed thingy...
The nerf was minor, still very strong weapon

At 40 lvls of int the carian sword is actually the best cast tool for magic, so for lvl 90 invasions seems like a good option for dex/int builds.

Honestly the hard nerf wave was needed for some things. But the smith script and other already bad weapons mixed with all of the general nerfs that made things totally useless is rough.
I understand this is an emergency patch they made super fast but goddamn I hope they buff perfumes cause it could be so good if the damage wasn't so lackluster for it's moveset
I felt that the smithscript cirque on invasions were strong when using flame art infusion. Usually with endure I could out trade hosts/ sun bros. I actually really liked the throw attacks. Good for poking from a distance and keeping pressure on when they’re running away. Throwing them while jumping away is also nice. The throw range buff is definitely welcome.
The R2 with the backhand blade used to lock you there for almost 2 second after attacking
The rolling sparks nerf definitely was needed but it was over done imo. I haven't tested anything out personally just yet but from what I saw it's unusable now. I'm assuming it's worse in pve by a longshot as well
The Perfume Bottles they fixed the one shot by removing all but 1 explosion if you aimed it straight down, and that was the change to rolling sparks itself. OnlyWaifu's video reviewing the patch shows the collision boxes of the attack with before and after to show it getting modified. Wouldn't surprise me if they also changed it to be like Radagon's Rings of Light, where if you got hit with any of the 16 collision boxes you'd take the damage you'd only take 1 instance of damage.

A lot of incantations needs a buff: Bloom, divine butterflies, divine beast tornado, divine bird feathers, rain of fire, watchful spirit. All of them do practically no damage and it's sad. Also furious blade of ansbach doesn't proc bleed.
that tiche bug has been in the game since day 1 of elden ring release too. crazy that they just got around to fixing it 2 years later but still a good fix nonetheless

The backhand heavy recovery cancel was only for the cirques in pretty sure. You could roll out of the attack before the second projectile was thrown

Very good patch note summary, appreciate the testing! I don’t really pvp much, but I ran into like 8 people with that swift slash build and it definitely needed a nerf lol
So the rolling sparks effect was just all the hotboxes stacking.
@@luhcsgrimm8857 literally all they had to do to fix it would have been make it spit less hit boxes if it collided with walls or something first. So if you shoot it straight it should still do normal dmg per cloud. If you shoot it at the ground it should do one maybe two clouds only. Boom, no more one shots but weapons are still good.

for the backhand blades "fixed a bug that prevented players from cancelling the attack recovery of two-handed strong attacks by rolling for certain weapons of the backhand blades weapon type" patch note, uncharged dual-wield heavy attacks on the scimitar-looking backhand blades had a weird bug where you wouldn't be able to roll for a solid second after the attack came out. you could keep attacking basically right after, but the roll delay was unreasonably long. glad they patched that, they feel a lot better now
2:41 I encountered that issue a few times. It happened when I would go through an extremely overkill buffing routine to try to one shot the bosses lol

Due to the recent perfume nerfs, I think only the deadly poison one is viable now since it can be used to activate poison buffs(shroom helm, rot talisman and poison glove) for a huge damage boost to your other weapons
Hoping we get to see a Smithscript showcase soon. Feel like these weapons are much stronger then they're getting credit for. Especially the shield. Having it in your left hand and uses the ash sets and up a delayed attack. It opens up tons of roll catch and mix up opportunities. The hammer is hoot to yeet at things as well.
The backhand blade change is amazing. I've been using them since the patch dropped, and lemme tell you my man, after doing an R2, you were rooted in place for a *long* time, unable to do anything. Basically made it unusable vs anything that wouldn't get staggered. I knew it felt off, glad it was a bug.
The summon NPC bug is most likely refering to sir Thiollier's summon at the final boss fight. He would just stand still without entering the boss arena after being summoned even if you start the boss fight.

I've seen streamers outrun the hippo's grab by running backwards and to the side a little. I felt like this fight was meant to be done on horseback, the smaller hippos are trivial when you are mounted.

6:24 I experienced this whenever i tried to summoned thiollier at consort radahn he'd stand still for a minute or 2 before entering the fog gate
The back hand blade dodge delay was crazy. When two handing if you did an uncharged r2 you'd be stuck in tecover for probably 1.5 seconds or so. So its a welcome change.
Im just happy I got a few invasion in with the fire knights greatsword before it got nerfed. I started NG+6 and wanted to get to the dlc as fast a possible and used the sword for Varre's quest. I dont pvp but that thing was easy mode

Convinced that either the translation of the patchnotes was half-assed or the team was intentionally vague as hell to avoid drawing more attention to some of the broken weapons in case there are more bugs with them yet to be discovered/fixed.
Also, the busted bow being forgotten/missed is fitting for how overlooked bows are in Fromsoft games. Wonder if they'll get it in the next hotfix.

Chase my man, Ansbach’s longbow right now is the best bow. It’s ash of war allows you to deal a 1500 damage with a single arrow due to good ol fromsoft spaghetti code and instant status effect.
It’s insane how they still haven’t nerfed dragon communion/cult incants I breezed through the dlc basically one shotting everything with 2 buffs
