The wobbling of the sliding table can actually be fixed. I removed the table on mine and very carefully loosend the screws on the lower guide rails to slightly adjust the distance. But be warned, this will easily take 20-30 mins of fiddling :)

Based on your review I will go ahead and purchase the Bosch GTS 10XC. My main leaning towards the Bosch over other similarly priced saw tables is the cross-cut sliding table. I believe that it is better than utilizing a tee slot or just a basic slot. As you so eloquently detailed, the table can easily be adjusted to eliminate looseness. When I get my Bosch table I will perform all the checks that you performed. Thank you my friend.
Thank you for this review. I bought a GTS10J and had some thoughts that maybe I should have bought the same model as you did. I can now see that the GTS10J has most of the plusses of the GTS10XC model without the annoying addition of a wobbly sliding panel which would have been great without the wobble.
Dude I was sweating when you grabbed your tiny cut off stock with hands while the saw was spinning, plus other safety lacks mentioned above, or lack of PPI , this is important to show good example when running a channel. Nice review beside those points , thanks 👍🏿👍🏽
Yep; if you want a slide table saw be prepared to pay the price. These are contractor saws which is in the price. But most can be over come with a quality miter gauge and good sled. The thing to look for first on contractor saws is that the trunnion design keeps the blade at 90 raising and lowering and its adjustable. Even some of the cheaper cabinet saw with cast iron tops fall short. But then wood working is not a matter of a few thousands like precision machining. and a few thousands toe-out on fence to miter slot is out in for safety.

Anthony Barber Hi Ant, I pondered on both but in the end couldn't be happy with either, both have brushed motors and thats ok but brushed motors and are extremely loud; both have play in their mitre slots and that's not good, I turned to the used tablesaw market and bought a stunning Startrite Tilt Arbor 10" Table Saw with a powerful but quiet induction motor and a mouth watering cast iron table with a fence that locks solid, my advice buddy is to look for a used Tablesaw on Gumtree or Ebay and you will for the same money as the Bosch or Dewalt have a great saw worthy of a excellent workshop, all the best, get back to me with what you do and buy, regards Louie.
Hey Louie, I've just sold a Felder panel saw with scriber and sliding carriage. I had it for 6 years for making my own kitchen units. However, I'm now carrying out less work and downsizing. I require a portable table saw to keep in the van. So it'll be either the Bosch GTW 10 XC or Dewalt 7491. Still unsure which one suits my needs. It will not be used for anything too accurate, mostly rough cutting, ripping down etc. Still confused tbh. Ant.
Anthony Barber Then I would advise the Bosch because it is a better saw, what shocked me about the DeWalt was a guy on TH-cam actually squeezed the fence and it flexed, I am a big fan of DeWalt and many of my tools are indeed DeWalt, I actually used to have a DeWalt 746 hybrid tablesaw which was a truly great saw but I have to be honest Ant, the two saws you have short listed are both machines that can cut but my choice would have to be the Bosch, a bigger table surface, better fence, less vibration, more powerful motor, in the end buddy it will be your choice, if portability is a must and portability is a nice thing then both these saws will do, I wish you well mate, keep me up to date with your choice and progress, regards Louie in Northern Ireland.

(Soft start, more powerful, table extensions, little sliding carriage.) but I like the 825mm ripping of the DeWalt and the lever system to remove/attach the riving knife. (The tool free lowering of riving knife on the Bosch gets blocked with sawdust) I totally understand also about brushless motors being much quieter. I wonder why the common three manufactuers don't make brushless??? Thanks again buddy, much appreciated. 👌🏼

What I cannot fix, however, is that the sliding carriage is about 1mm higher than the rest of the table - only at the back of the saw. I want to put a crosscut sled on and i want super accuracy. did you have this problem? was the sliding carriage higher than the table?
Ich finde dein englisch sehr gut, thanks a lot for the video, I live in germany(and work) and I have been having trouble deciding on a new saw...hab ich schone einer metabo ts 216, aber die is kaput...waiting for it to be repaired/reparatur...so I decided to get another saw and will use the metabo as a secondary(backup)...I was between this(your saw) and the dewalt 745...I think I may go for the dewalt...ohne sanftanlauf, but I can fix that.
Good review, these are plastic machines that suit job site contractors however for a small amount more cost we step up to cast iron & heavy capability saws, manufacturers opt for heavy duty accuracy for that reason, for us normal hobbyist we can still get reasonable quality at a fair price, good on you for your review 👍
you should never push the wood with your hand between the fence and the blade, If the saw binds it will pull your hand into the blade as it kicks back.
Thanks - been thinking about this saw, so useful. You really need to speed it up a bit - maybe less direct to camera, and more dubbed voice - that can be practised and thus made a but quicker. I like it slow and deliberate, but people have been led to expect the speeded-up Matthias Wandel approach, and they won't hang around for anything less pacy. But great to not have the boing-boing pseudo-music that otherwise rational people insist on adding to their videos. My only real takeaway from this is that there's a 0.1mm slop in the sled. This won't do for me - that's what I currently work to with hand tools, and I'm aiming to reduce that if I use machines. Have you ever taken the sled off and tried to adjust it? It would be interesting to see how that all fits together. I guess the roller slides must be adjustable in some way? Or maybe fitting a ptfe shim on one side of the sled?

I think there's quite a lot of interest in this saw as something that's half-way between a proper precision table saw and a cheapo site saw. The question then is - how to improve it? So a series that moves through the steps required to get consistently precise work out of it would surely be of interest. I've subscribed, in the hope it will address my doubts.
Good review showing warts and all. However I am aghast at the lack of safety precautions the presenter uses. My dad always taught me that NEVER use a circular saw with your hands in a position that inattention may cause a slip and the loss of a finger. When cross cutting, always hook your right little finger over the fence to minimise the danger of moving your hand into the blade. ALWAYS use a pusher, not your hands to progress the work. Use the blade cover. Where's your eye protection. Where is your ear protection? At least three manual arts teachers at the school where I taught were missing fingers or parts thereof through not adhering to the rules that they taught!!
I learned to wear eye protection the hard way but got lucky! I have a minor scar on my eye (so my optician tells me) so now have a set of goggles left on the saw at all times to make sure I use them.

I like the features of the Bosch but the 825mm ripping capacity and the rack & pinion fence of the DeWalt is really tempting. I've just looked at those two machines. I should have said I need a portable saw to take to jobs so the Hammer K3 is out. And the other machine is out of my price range unfortunately. I can afford to buy the Bosch and maybe stretch to the expense of the DeWalt. Out of those two which one would you buy? Kind regards, Ant.
How do you judge or review the dust collection deficiency. Am using the same table saw and can't get all the dust in to my dust collection system. I think Bosch did a lousy job there. Any tips you may have are welcome. Thx
+Tim Yann hi Tim! I think the dust collection is working more or less OK. I can't exactly tell because I don't use the blade protection with the integrated dust collector so there is always dust flying around in my shop... do you use it? If I'm using my cross cut or box joint jig I always remove the zero clearance insert... That helps a lot to get rid of the dust.
I think it's not too good. But I also don't use the blade protector shield so its only extracting from below. Once I've got my new shop built I plan to pipe up both extraction points and it should improve .
Hi, like the honest review. However not so thrilled when you cut the 10cm proof piece. This is the way to get seriously injured. I would suggest you take some lessons on how to properly use a table saw!
10:15 Is alot worse, thats one of the most dangerous cuts to do freehand without a crosscut sled :|. It can easily pull your hand into the saw if the workpiece binds a little.
I find it fun people are spending so much time measuring pulling etc to find tiny faults such as play etc.. in reality I will eat my old hat on that most of you all aren't as precise as the saw itself even with play.

Had a kickback on table saw few days ago. Chip of the wood missed my eye by a centimeter. Hurts like hell.
