I so hyped for this game! Mario Party 7 was the first Mario party game I’ve ever played and it’s nice to see some returning mini games. I really hope “Fun Run” returns because that was one of my favorite mini games from the game.
MP7 was also my first and favorite. I wish they brought more from that game, ik I'm biased to it but I swear it had some of the best minigames.
@@Guy811 I'm pretty sure I am blindes by nostaglia, but I love Mario Party 5. I love Pirate Dream and Toy Dream, and every game is crazy.

@@sirwaddleton7328 i disliked how fun run just punishes you for getting hit by 1 wall. I wish they changed it so its like what goes up where it's not a set goal but a who can get the farthest in X time. It would he even more based if the layout was random every time

This might be the most excited I have been for a Mario party in at least a decade. Maps, mini games, music all look great.
Out of all the games that are releasing in October this is definitely the one I’m buying day 1 I’m still gonna buy the other games Metroid Dread, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, and Nickelodeon All Star Brawl (and if the rumors are true the 3 GTA games) but I might save these games as Christmas present ideas for my friends and family

I love they added that dungeon mini game from Mario party 4
i hated that mini game in mp4. the bots on the other team always pumped up the balloon faster than me and my partner could pump it up.

It's sad how the new graphics show less and less details in most cases. And crap lighting. Why is that always with lighting? It's too bright or blooming. Crap as always. GameCube was peak graphics without that lighting.
Horror Land had so many colors to it, especially at night. Now it's just all blue. Space Land and Horror Land look awful.
Woody Woods looks meh.
Yoshi's Island looks decent.
Peach's Cake looks excellent.
Yeah they try to be too clever with the lighting but it drowns out all the vibrant colours of the originals. It's like a hasey fog over the mini game
1:51 I mean I like the more vibrant blue ice from the older games. Definitely not as realistic but it’s a prettier color palette for that particular level. My preference anyways. Just saying…
Same I feel like top 100 is too colorful and superstars needs more colors. Here is an example 0:50

I can't get over how gorgeous this game is, but at the same time it does make me sad that some of the more cartoony/whimsical visual elements of the original gamesgot lost in the newer versions. Still really looking forward to playing it though!

@@user-vi4xy1jw7e The face drawn on the cloud in the first minigame is an example! Of course there are others but that's like a huge analysis topic right there
@@ellebastonart yes I agree with you. Also some of the vibrant colours in the originals are dulled back in Superstars. Like the water one where you shine a light on the player swimming
starting with that cloud and all i can think is "they finally put that cloud out of its misery, but still using the corpse"

Also, i'll make an list of some diferences that i noticed throughout the video for the minigames:
0:15 - The Switch version removes the sad rainy cloud face for some reason.
0:56 - The 3DS version, has diferent light counter graphics than the Switch and N64.
0:59 - The 3DS one has more decoration in the background than the Switch and N64. In adition, the lighting is more windy in the Switch version.
1:13 - The N64 version has pipes in the borders of the minigame, while the Switch one has none.
1:29 - The rocky ground texture is much more brighter in the 3DS version. Adicionally, the camera is much closer in the Switch version.
2:16 - The "?" block graphic difers from each version.
2:22 - The star texture for the spining platform is slightly diferent In the Switch version.

@@b1galbos89 I don't think it's nostalgia. I just like the way the characters are shaded more (Mostly on the gamecube compared to superstars) They look more like toys and I like that vibe. But I am not gonna say that if I hadn't grown up with these games I'd feel the same way.
@@b1galbos89 no it's also the colours. They are more dull in this new version. And some of the cartoony things are missing. Hopefully it will look great on a big tv
Honestly, I really think the original games' minigames look better. Obviously Superstars is in HD and has updated models and such, but the originals have so much life and, pun not intended, animation to them that is just lacking from the new game in my opinion. It feels so much more sterile and plastic than the original animations and graphics. At least to me.
Agreed. Colours are way more vibrant in the originals and the shape of the characters, enemies and props is better

Not just graphics but physics engine for the minigames.
Definitely selling my Super Mario Party game for this instead. This is 5x better than its predecessor. The only flaw is that the remix tunes of the boards I won't like. The Mario game music of today is too cheery. Like the Horror Land remix. The original is way better.
I would say another flaw is the very small character roster compared to Super

I'd be surprised if it had no secret characters. They've been a staple since Mario Party 6
@@vegetables1593 yeah but the n64 boards had dozens of npcs to make em work. super's whole gimmick was "20 characters, shitty boards because we dont have characters to use for event spaces"
@@Robbie_Haruna I dunno, I wouldn't be surprised sadly. Even tho Super Mario Party actually did it, a lot of games I would expect to have unlockables just don't. Nintendo is really straying away from that, for the most part, in favor of dlc or just... not adding more characters at all ._.
@@mtj8870 I think they still had plenty of characters they could have used, there are so many likeable mario enemies and characters they never both using, or for some reason just didn't for Super Mario Party. So I don't think that's ever an excuse, we should be able to have lots of characters to play and lots of NPCs.
I'm so excited for this game, Even if it Flops at the end, I'm still going to enjoy and play it. Because they got my level Is horror land back and unlocking better than ever

I'll always stand by my opinion that the lack of consistent character design in the old games gave them more personality. Superstars looks gorgeous, but I love seeing the off-model designs and custom artwork from the n64 versions
That's me with all the mario series. Everything shouldn't look like it was all ripped from NSMB, it's all way too homogenized now.
Hope they still have the ending cut scenes for the boards.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but the minigames from the first 3 games are so much better than the ones in later games, so it's such a fantastic idea to modernize them. This will probably be the best Mario Party since the n64 trilogy, which is pretty wild to think about.

Man... sure the minigames selection may not be as good (for GameCube era fans and especially 8-10), but damn they did an amazing job with how the boards and minigames look. The OST sounds super incredible as Well!

This is my exact concern. While it looks better graphically the art direction leaves a lot to be desired, specially on the mini-games. Still, an undeniable upgrade overall. It would've been great if the boards were less plain/had more decorations and if the mini-games were a little more colorful.

I agree with you especially add pumpkins on the horror land board and add the Christmas lights back on space land. It looked a little plain but still looks so polished

I love the creativity they took with Horror Land. I know some N64 purists probably won’t like it but I think it looks great and it is able to be fully detailed without the limitations of the N64

Yes, I'm so glad they didn't bring back both Tug O War and Paddle Battle from Mario Party 1 because man were those games hell because he had to really move the joystick with your palm and that caused some people injuries (although thankfully it didn't cause me injuries but I do have to admit it was still pretty painful for both me and others). Although that could change Idk the game still isn't out yet (although let's just hope they don't come at all).
Tug o war is back though.
Not that it matters, the rotation was only ever an issue because the N64 analog stick sucked and had no grip on it.
N64 on the switch is gonna be amazing cause it’s free to play and maybe even online I think so like they did with the nes and snes 👍

I don't think so. Seems like that it maintained it's original name. It's still listed in the MarioWiki. If that's the case, that would make it 103 minigames counting this unknown game and the 2 item minigames. Gonna have to wait and see 35 days from now.
I'm so hyped for this game! Those boards all look Fantastic! I wish we coukd get DLC already lol I wish there coukd have been at least 6 boards so we can have 2 from each Mario Party game and with 5 it looks like MP3 will be the one with only 1 board being Woody Woods. What other boards did you guys want if what was revealed didn't make it in? I would pick Western Land and boards from MP 1 or 3 I haven't seen like Chilly Waters.
If any other board is revealed I think Chilly Waters would be a GREAT choice. That's my next favorite, Horror Land was my TOP CHOICE and it got added in!
@@Videoguy612 I unfortunately haven't played Mario Party 1 and 3 yet because it isn't available to play on Wii Virtual Console like Mario Party 2 is. As I was looking online at each games' boards, they all looked like nice boards I missed out on and Chilly Waters being a snow themed board would have looked so good in HD

No regular outfit allowed in Mario Party 2 board only wear costumes for every Mario party 2 (except Bowser Land) got it!!!!!

It doesn't matter how many times Nd Cube try, Hudson Soft made the greatest Mario Party games.
NDCube is literally former Hudson Soft devs though
1st of all, NDCube is former developers at Hudson. And 2nd, At least they're doing the best they can. They learned from their mistakes from MPs 9 and 10, and SMP was a step in the right direction. Seems like with Superstars, they're being as true to the series as possible, while also trying to keep things fresh. And like I've said a few other times in these comments, nostalgia can sometimes be overrated.

I really wish the Mario series wasn't so homologized. One of the coolest parts of the older Mario Parties were the weird and unusual designs for things (for example at 0:18, that creepy walking piranha plant just looks like a mini petey piranha now), the game still looks good, but I feel like it is kinda missing that charm, and most Mario games in the past decade have been like this.

That was literally just a generic piranha plant before lol. Calling that a weird and unusual design is some hard ass rose tinted glasses.
How is is suddenly problematic to replace a generic enemy with a unique one? Are you also going to complain that Horror Land has King Boo and not Big Boo anymore too?

Somewhere between Super Mario Party and Clubhouse Games, NDCube really decided to just start making good games. Can't believe I'm excited for a Mario Party again after Super, and the game is absolutely gorgeous too

Look i love these boards and i am excited and i like the upgraded graphics but. If u look at the zoom out of a board it looks smaller than n64 mayve because its in a 3d space and not an image idk..
they're literally smaller by 3 spaces calm down. hell space land is literally only 1 space smaller
I was hoping for the pirate stage from Mario Party 2. It feels like all stages are from Mario Party 1. Let’s hope for some DLC.
Only two are from Mario Party 1.
3 got shafted the most though, if anything it should have had two boards instead of 1 because its boards are generally much stronger.
pirate land was awful. All you do is buy a skeleton key and infinitely loop boo bc the happenings on the bridge are stupid

MP 4 and 5 were the best ones that ever came out ! Fight me!
Orbs were handled like crap in Mario Party 5 (good boards though.)
4 has a smaller minigame pool, no duel minigames and the worst board selection in the series (not counting 9 and 10,) plus its overfocus on the Mega and Mini Shrooms not only hurt item variety (most of the best items from 3 were removed or made super rare,) but it hindered game pacing to boot.
4 had some good minigames if nothing else, but it was a painful downgrade from Mario Party 3 in almost every regard.
