Omg I love chatty writing update videos like this :') The way you talk about your approach to revisions and your writing in general is so like... wise???? Idk but I love it!

My friend is reading my book and has left so many helpful (and funny) comments! I decided to start rewriting my book entirely, I might keep some specific lines with the banter that I like in the newest draft, maybe just changing the context around a little bit, and my friend has given me so many ideas for the new draft that I've been feeling so inspired to write it! I've returned to it after a long period of not writing hardly anything for it and I missed this story so much. I'm hoping to make this draft even stronger and better than the last one (especially the beginning since I feel like that was my weakest point)

I definitely need to switch genres entirely for a bit too when I've been too obsessive about one project LOL it's too easy to fall into similar voices when they're so close 😊

same, when I'm in between projects, I try to read vastly different genres !! :)

Your voice is always so calming and (stay with me here) watching your videos is like sitting on a window seat with a cup of tea -- does that make sense?? 😂 I hope you meet your deadline for LH and enjoy your much deserved writing break!

The House Between Earth and the Moon (Rebecca Scherm) and Girlfriend on Mars (Deborah Willis) are both near future sci-fi/cli-fi novels that have vibes you might relate dig (my two favorites this year and my comps for my WIP lol).
As usual, thank you for sharing your journey with us!🎉

Hell yeah, a break!! That's great to have on the docket, gotta stave off that burnout. And fingers crossed for the new short story, you've still got plenty of tiiiime oh my god september is in two days I FORGOT. NOBODY PANIC IT'S FINE
Due to my current situation, I've had to shelve any plans to publish, even self-publish, for the foreseeable future. On one hand, yeah, it's disappointing, but it's also kind of freeing? I don't often give myself the liberty of writing just for me (most of what I write is fanfic intended to be shared). Now my first novel will just be for me and my friends and family, at least for now. And I think I'm okay with that!
I'm reading 'When I'm Gone, Look For Me In The East" by Quan Barry, which was rec'd by ShaelinWrites early last year. I'm having a little trouble with the slow pacing, but the prose is very beautiful and the narrative voice is unique. Very memorable! And tonight I'm gonna be part of an online seminar on sentient robots/artificial beings in media, which is my biggest jam and I'm super looking forward to it (if a little nervous for the group discussions haha).
