2013 - 2019 Ford Escape - How to Unlock & Start With A Dead Or Broken Remote Key Fob Battery

- A video tutorial on how to unlock, open and start a 2013 - 2019 Ford Escape that has a dead key battery or a remote key fob that isn't working. There is an emergency key located in the bottom of your Ford Escape remote key fob. You will need to remove the key from the remote key fob and use it to unlock and open the Escape driver's door. Then you will need to start your Ford Escape by placing the remote key fob on the right hand side of the steering column.
This tutorial will show you how to open, unlock and start a vehicle with a dead key battery or remote key fob that isn't working on the following Ford models:

Even using the key code to get in the Escape is another way to get in,too. I used to have a 2015 Ford Escape SE. Now that I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE. It is a little bit different in styling.

You can Also punch in the lock code for the door to unlock it
I had to use the emergency key to get in because I left it in reverse when I got out with the ebrake on and now I can’t get anything started

Obviously the normal push button link is matched to your FOB, but when you hold it up close for what I assume is RFID, is that also a unique sync with your car or could anyone come and use that on mine to start it?
It needs to be done with key fob that is already programmed to vehicle
Does not work on a 2017 set the fob on the rubber mat under the radio and it will fire right up

The first thing I would check is that you installed the proper newly fob battery correctly? These fobs should not need to be reprogrammed after just changing the battery

2019 does not work holding the fob near at right of steering wheel
Try putting the fob in the cubby under the AC/Heater controls. This works every time on my '19.

What if your key is in the damn car and your battery to the car is dead!??
Then you will likely need an automotive locksmith or dealership
