My mother is in hospital right now from having numerous seizures, they are about to do this test on her while she is sedated! This video helped me better understand what they were doing this for! Very informative! Praying for positive results! 🙏🙏

I quite dont understand why people are fussing about the music. Im quite tired educational videos to have a very serious tone with no life in them. Music was treat for my ears and pretty lady there..treat for my eyes..I actually learnt something and enjoyed it all the same.. thanks for making such a good video.

At time frame 2:55, this video mentions four main waves form: Gamma, Beta, Alpha and Theta. Gamma waves usually not dealt in EEG and are in range more than 35 Hz. The author might want to mention Delta wave instead of Gamma.

I'm Epileptic, have been for about 38 years. I have had numerous EEGs.
I find that an EEG brings on seizures.
During the EEG each of those pulse is reduced just as I am about to have seizure. But the seizures dont just "go away", they are just postponed!
Within 12-18 hours the seizures begin. And not just one or two it will continue for about 14 days.
I know thats not the case for everyone, as a child my epilepsy wad much milder and EEG did not trigger seuzures. But it certainly does now!

Can you suggest a book that would serve as a nice intro to understanding EEG? I am a clinician getting trained in neurofeedback and I'd like to get a better understanding of the mechanisms of eeg. A lot of the articles I've read use terminology that far exceeds my understanding of EEG. I'm hoping you can provide me with a nice primer on the subject in the form of articles that I can find or books. Thanks for the video.

+kawaiilove999 Hi! Sorry I wasn't able to respond to this before your EEG session. I was in a very busy part of my Ph.D. work. I hope all went well with you. How was your EEG experience? In short, ions (electrically charged atoms) pass into and out of your brain cells (neurons). This ions can cause the brain cells to become more positively or negatively charged inside which sets off an action potential (something like a chain reaction to put it in simple terms). These action potentials are responsible for all of our thoughts, memories, personality, etc, we believe. When the action potential come to the end on one neuron they stimulate other neurons. The EEG is measuring when these new neurons are stimulated--that is, when thousands of them are stimulated at the same time.
