Saffron farming is very labour intensive so 60 percent is on saffron pickers and very small return even if you sell it at 60 dollars a gram .

Is there any training availble?
Growing without substrate, soil, does this mean the bulbs only live for one growth cycle this way? Have you ever tried aeroponics growing with the saffron?
I was thinking the same thing. If you had a multi layer stack you could grow way better and control the environment also. The only thing that I would be concerned with is that the liquid fertilizers and such would absolutely take away from the end product. I'm sure soil consistency and composition and soil mineral content and such has to do with the end product.
You work the soil composition and the flower genetics to make the best procust it takes generations of growing to get the right soil and flower for the soil and region.

Plant just absorb the essential nutrients from soil.. Soil is not the essential thing.. The nutrients that the plant want is provided by them..

No way had it been so it's cultivation would have been spread all over the world.

There are very few places in the world where saffron is harvest . North Africa Morocco , kashmir in india, Iran and the person in this video is an Iranian.

Secondly those are three countries that are the major producer of saffron naturally over thousands of years, Iran being the largest of around 90 % of the total production and they never used any modern technology like in the video above , also there are a lot of small producers no doubt but they production is very low and recent compare to the other. Use of modern technology as the one above is a new thing.

You ship bulb to Malaysia?
This is the best saffron for the guy who produced it. As without claiming this it won't fetch money.
However, real saffron is somewhat different.
Best example can be like duplicate or body doubles claiming themselves as real actors.
Also it can imitate looks taste and chemical composition but benefits are something which belongs to natural and indigenous process. It can be compared with A2 and A1 protein example.
Atleast it's Saffron ,some are selling factory produced ones
Soil is compulsory for long age of safron seeds
They would have to have a dedicated facility for dividing the bulbs. One cycle and done. Not sure the slight increase in quality would be a good trade off for the extra work though you're already doing the best bit by hand why add more steps?
Use a cart with wheels, like those used in restaurants, and you will be able to work standing up.

if we get 1kg dry saffron which may cost around 5 to 6 lakhs
1. then what about the electricity charges from the time of bud plantation to multiplication
2. what about the labour cost as the flower are gradually grow day by day not all the flowers at a time to harvest may be the harvesting can done upto 20 to 30 days
irrespective to the cost of construction of the room or container , CHILLER, CO2 MONITOR ,HUMIDITY MACHINE,....etc

Why are the trays not placed on a table for harvesting. Then the harvest workers could harvest much more easily without having back problems (better ergonomics). Without placing the trays to be harvested on a table, it is not very different from harvesting in the field.

@@tomcullum448 exactly. sitting on the floor is part of the middle eastern and Iranian culture. they feel more comfortable sitting on the floor than on furniture.
Sitting this way promotes the strength of the hips and tendons as we get older. Westerners have hip trouble because they do not squat in this way at all. I heard this long time ago I forget where.

'I live here in America I'm also looking for some Saffron . Enough too add too my Birthday cake 🎂 like my Grandma did. When I were little.she would put yellow and orange cake coloring in the icing because that's the Color's of my spice color trend.
As you know that's our fall Color's mixed in with autumn. All spices are color trends. Sage, Cinnamon, Ginger. Saffron.
