Ok so just heat up until bushing is garbage, complete skip the part where the bolt is actually taken off and just tap the bolt out of the bushing

      @ItsThatDudeIsaac ปีที่แล้ว +2

I mean if you’re replacing the bushing anyways and the only thing stopping you is the bolt… it’s kinda self explanatory.

Making the bolt cold can also work very well to crack the rust. Would have to let it sit for a few minutes afterward to allow the contraction to relax.
Liquid nitrogen is the most powerful way to freeze metal, but usually not parctical. Dry ice works very wel, is cheap and easy to get. Also, there are a few brands of spray can metal freezer. They work pretty good and are very convient.

I have heard of it working for people. Never used myself. Also, there's a product at your parts store called freeze off(or maybe freeze out, can't remember) that is bigger and probably colder. And has a type of penetrating fluid in it.
Clean metal will transfer the cold very much better.

TRUE MAPP gas is no longer available in North America {not since 2008). What is called MAPP here does not heat up anywhere near as much as the original MAPP.

    Penetrating Oils Compared
Machinist's Workshop magazine actually tested penetrants for break out torque on rusted nuts. Significant results!
*They arranged a subjective test of all the popular penetrants with the control being the torque required to remove the nut from a "scientifically rusted" environment.*
    *Penetrating oil ..... Average load*
    None ..................... 516 pounds
    WD-40 ............. 238 pounds
    PB Blaster ............. 214 pounds
    Liquid Wrench .. 127 pounds
    Kano Kroil ............ 106 pounds
    ATF-Acetone mix....53 pounds
*The ATF-Acetone mix was a "home brew" mix of 50 - 50 automatic transmission fluid and acetone*
*Note the "home brew" was better than any commercial product in this one particular test. A local machinist group mixed up a batch and all now use it with equally good results. Note also that "Liquid Wrench" is about as good as "Kroil" for about 20% of the price

The lower bolt on my bearing mount of my truck is rusted as i could ever imagine. Ive tried filing it down and using different wrenches. But each time it just re-strips the bolt.
I will have my uncle come over with a blow torch now. Because its been 5 hours fitting qith one bolt 😰
