- We decided to fly up to Springfield, Ohio to watch the solar eclipse. We had a great time watching this amazing event with a group of friends at Springfield-Beckley Airport. It has been a while since I made a Champ video , due to time, but today was the day to make one and to introduce baby Dewey. #flying #aviation #aviationvlog
Missed you! We were thrilled to see a new video pop up today. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family too ❤
Too long amigo! Don't be a stranger. Fly that Travel Air! Great to see you after all this time. Fun video. There was a total Solar Eclipse a couple of years ago, could you imagine an eclipse and 250 hot air balloons?! It was pretty cool! I think someone had a video on TH-cam.😊
Glad to see you're back, always enjoy the Champ videos. Hoping to make it to the barnstorming carnival in July.
Great to see you all in a video together. What a wonderful life
Thanks Jimmy. Always great seeing you. We need to go Champing soon
Nice to see you again, congratulations on the new addition.
Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to make this awesome video! I need to get back in the air soon.
Congratulations!
You are one lucky, blessed man...
N3478E here, checking in! 👍
Great to see you posting videos again. I love following along the champ adventures. Current restoring a 46 Champ
lets see more!
Thanks for taking us along for a ride in the Champ.
Since you hand prop regularly, you should do a primer on to do it properly, from "switch off" to "switch on."
Glad to see you back. I have my '46 Chief hangered at CEV here in Connersville. Been following your posts for a while. Always interesting.
Congratulations for the addition to your family 🙂
It's a good day when Dewey drops a video! Thanks for sharing that fun trip with us. Congratulations on the new addition, too!
Great to see a new video!! My first hours were in an aeronica similar to yours. I was very young. My dad was a flight instructor and was the first chief of flight training at Lear Jet.
Please continue your videos and include your beautiful family!!!
Thanks so much Jack. I'll try to keep posting.
Great video as always. I just took my family on their first adventure in our plane.
Priceless! We didn't get much of an eclipse like you guys but we did back on 8/2017.
Thanks for posting.
Dewey Squared! Mixing it up with the family, that’s not busy, that’s natural habitat! Gona get a Champ someday and drop in on ya!
great video, thank you.Beautiful wife and baby
Simply awesome Deweys!
Thanks for watching Snowman.
Love the champ and the headset for the baby!
What a sweet little one
So glad to see you all back on here and in the Champ! I got some fairy good pictures of the eclipse from Fairborn. Thanks for sharing the videos with us all. 😁
Thanks Kevin. My pictures didn't turn out that well
Nice to see you and the family, I hope we see more from the Dewey Drone. I liked your collection of rc planes, I got myself a nice new rc glider called a Shadow 141 wing span. I’ll put a picture on your Instagram page. Safe travels.
So glad to see you
It's been a looonnngg time since you made a video. So good to see a new one. I rewatch the old ones. Oshkosh is where we got to meet face-to-face and look forward to meeting up each summer. Happy birthday early. Your daughter is beautiful
Always great seeing you at Oshkosh Audie. Honestly, I always look forward to seeing you guys too. Kinda been tradition.
I love it! Wish i still had my champ!
Good to see you guys!
Dewey where have you been? I thought you had forsaken us.
Just life got in the way. Time has been very hard to find. Lol
I don't think the champ is getting as much youtube time as needed, so if you would like to, I'll be more than happy to assist with that if I can get permission to land at the bald eagle airport down the road from the freedom factory
the welding mask was brilliant !
What a nice video to enjoy with my lunch today, thank you! I’m curious, can you fly a champ on the Fisk arrival into Oshkosh or is it too slow? I was reading the NOTAM last night and saw they want 90 knots on the arrival. I thought possibly the ultralight arrival would be the way to go but I’m not sure.
Alex, if you have a champ or Cub with no radio. Go in as NORDO. The procedure is so easy and strait forward. IMO, the only way to go with a slow aircraft.
@@DeweyDavenport Hey thanks for the reply! I’m just dreaming right now, I have been doing some tail wheel training in a champ and have really been enjoying it. I don’t think I’ll be buying one before Airventure this year, but hopefully by the end of this year. Seems like such a great airplane for fun flying!
I did a video in Xenia with a pinhole camera. It worked a bunch better that trying to point anything at the sun. Even in totality the camera just didn't pick up the amazing spectacle.
Is it legal to fly with a baby in your arms [i.e. no seatbelt?]
No even on the airlines it's only an FAA recommendation not a regulation. So to answer your question it's perfectly legal.
Yes.
