- On Jacey’s 18th birthday, strange things begin to happen: water turns red, tornados appear out of nowhere, and massive ice spears come shooting out of the sky. When Jacey is told she is the ‘chosen’ one, she soon realizes that she is the only one who has the power to stop the impending doom. Using an ancient book of Mayan prophecies, Jacey and her father must figure out how to stop the twelve disasters that begin the countdown to the end the world!

I’m not far enough into the film to be overly critical but given that Jacey is 18 years old and has only been out without telling overprotective mom and dad for a short time why is Joseph (dad) in such a panic? Yes strange things are happening but at 18 she might have just wanted some alone time seeing as her grandmother just died in very strange circumstances, and yet she is the only one who seemed upset in any way, not exactly sure why the filmmakers thought that they could not have the actors showing any grief, it is a natural reaction.
So, @ 20:41 Joseph ask Jacey where Elizabeth was, how come he knew she was with Elizabeth but still went out to look for her??. Now, @ 21:52 Joseph wants to leave Jacey with Grant, the very same person that he wouldn’t let see her only a short time earlier, and because Grant was not answering his door Joseph just breaks into Grants bookshop, just doesn’t make any sense.
The story was full of suspence, thank you
That dog deserves an Oscar, perfect timing in all the scenes it was in. A true pro. 🏆

This really made me think about the dark side of human nature and just how quickly seemingly ‘good’ people can turn bad when they get scared or hysterical. Great movie though but the mayans were definitely wrong obviously 😁
