A good memory for me is the missus and myself burning through the Scottish Highlands listening to your show, bopping away to ‘Paradise’ … ie Coldplay. Just Brilliant! I’ve seen so many of your talented colleagues bombed out by the beeb. So much lost talent sadly. But that’s what todays crap and entertainment’s all about. It’s now up to your past loyal listeners to move on from the the beeb and vote with their dial fingers. I will. Interesting to see where you end up …. Will follow you mate!!!
He's taking popmaster (and probably all of his listeners) with him, so what happens to the guy the other week who got 36 and a 3 in 10? Does he go onto champions league in the new show or are BBC Radio 2 doing something new that he'll be part of? Curious to see what happens. Sad time for Radio 2 but I only tend to listen to his show (although enjoy listening to anything Ritchie does) and probably won't listen much more now :-(
I would rather listen to a great older DJ like Ken whose musical knowledge and tastes spans the decades than some "hip" younger broadcaster who doesn't play music before 2010.🤔
Apart from the advertising, Greatest Hits Radio is like Radio 2 used to be before it started turning into Radio 1. I'd recommend it! You watch, Johnny Walker will go next. Radio 2 just isn't what it used to be, sadly..

Like Steve Wright i will be following him to GHR i know he has been polite regarding the BBC thats the measure of the man but Radio 2 has had its day its after the younger audience who in truth do not use radio the same way as older people. radio 2 was like a car ken bruce was the front wheels steve wright was the rear wheels and Jeremy vine was the engine now the rear wheels have come off and the front will come off Scott mills still needs time but some of the music he is playing it is not the old school of music far too much dance stuff of which find I find awful it simply repeats itself I have listened to the radio 2 since 1994 and at the start of the century where i worked i could listen to all day and heard all the various guests tracks of the various years pop master of which i took part in and I won a windup radio I remember during his oldies spot steve wright played hocus pocus by focus the long version i was in my glory that afternoon Ernie the fasted milkman in the west by benny hill other was excepts of a teenage opera by Keith west grocer jack born to be alive you make me feel mighty real video killed the radio star these sort of hits are going to be played now. today ken bruce played tribute to David ##Crosby last he also paid tribute to Jeff NBeck and finally 3 years ago he also paid tribute to Dean Ford the frontman of the Glasgow group the Marmalade in fact it is already on You Tube by Junior Campbell saying Ken was a truly great broadcaster
