I'm surprised there are only a handful of these "UFO Religions" mentioned in hochelaga's video. I'm not sure this qualifies as a UFO religion but there is this "channel" named Daryl Anka who claims to channel his future self. A being he calls Bashar (who is a hybrid E.T. living on another planet/dimension/and time.) He has a huge following. I'm also surprised Steven Greer (founder of CSETI) wasn't mentioned. Him and his team of UFologists go out and use Hindu mantras and other meditations in order to "summon UFO's" (at least that's what appears to be happening in his documentary.)
The Heaven's Gate is still so fresh in my mind I even remember I just came out of the shower that day to watch news about their su icide. I can't forget it because of the UFO wave that came with the Hale-Bopp comet which many of us saw.
10:23 I generally like Holchelaga's videos and find his pretty even keel tone to be refreshing but I would propose that saying Scientology and Heaven's Gate are comparable to religions like Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, or Judaism is dangerous. Scientology and Heaven's Gate are both cults, dangerous ones at that. The abusive practices of Scientology are well documented. Regardless of whether or not you believe in auditing, the cult like behavior they encourage on their practitioners is not healthy. Similarly, Heaven's Gate required members to cut off contact with their family and indoctrinated their members into committing suicide. Granted that there are dangerous cult offshoots of the mainstream religions, but they are exceptions to those religions. In that light, I'm sure there are many, many more UFO religions out there that are not cults and likewise hate the stigma that Scientology and Heaven's Gate has brought on them. It's those groups that are the more apt comparison mainstream faiths, rather than dangerous cults. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Jim Jones and the People's Temple is to Christianity, what Marshall Applewhite and Heaven's Gate is to UFO Relgions.
The thing is: *today* the mainstream religions we have are more subdued and are not so wacky and cultish like those two, but are we sure this has always been the case? What if the way a religion becomes mainstream is first being super cultish and amassing power, and then after it has stablished itself, slowly become more PG so that it will spread better? I feel like we don't know enough about how religions are born to make a definite guess on this, which is why these UFO religions are interesting subjects to study in the first place. And, second, and perhaps most importantly, the Church of Scientology is known to be very sensitive to their public image and tends to pursue legal action against critics, as well as doing a lot of shady things to silence then, so I think it makes sense for Hochelaga to tiptoe around them when mentioning them.
@@nivircescrittore8304 I disagree, some of the largest mainstream religions have been completely open with their texts and doctrines from the very beginning, Islam and Buddhism for example. Some religions were and still are secretive (to a varying extent) as they weren't supposed to be preached outside of their ethnicity/culture, like Judaism, Druze, Yazidis. The only example of a religion I can think of that started as a cult and then changed to become a more open religion is Christianity (and the various related forms of Gnosticism).
@@theokra Fair enough. I guess being raised christian made me think of them first instead of Islam and Buddhism, that being said, the fact Christianity, the most practiced relligion in the world is the one of the mainstream religions with cultish inceptions still seems significant.
02:28 cool vid man as always. but I just want to clarify that the sun dog phenomenon is already described in the Nürnberg chronicle in a separate chapter making it an unlikely explanation to the incident. the explanation itself is also not fitting, as sun dog being described as a cross holding sun surrounded by crescent moons.
I've actually read a book written by Raël. Von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods (the gods descending from the sky to teach humanity and help it advance and who are in fact extraterrestrials) was a huge bestseller and Raël obviously wanted to capitalize on that success. I don't think it's a concidence that Raëlism was founded during the 70's when there was quite a lot of interest in UFO's and the paranormal.
Quite a fascinating subject, even if I don't believe in it! I remember as a young kid seeing an old book someone had about extraterrestrials in the Bible with an eye on the front cover. Anyone remember what that book was called? I seem to recall it was published in 1978.

I don't find them anymore ridiculous or outlandish than other more popular world religions and I am glad that was addressed. It really is a rebranding that even makes more sense than these established religions in some cases.
Because it doesn't fit with your own preconceived notions? Because you're starting with a conclusion and working backwards to try and find "evidence" that seemingly fits?
@@DukeOnkled no. Because its a ridiculous explanation that doesnt even make sense. If you read the original article of the incident you would know that it talks about a massive trianglular aircraft, spheres falling to the Earth in clouds of smoke and many different shapes cylinders, crescents, crosses and spears. Obviously its 1561 so they don't have the proper language to describe what could be alien aircraft. Non of it describes a sun dog even remotely which makes that excuse laughable.
@@alxofficial1541 I'll discount anything that inaccurately or insufficiently describes a certain phenomena, mainstream or not. I agree that the sun dog explanation for Nuremburg is ridiculous given the accounts and the depictions. There's clearly crashed smoking objects like the ones in the sky seen in the painting. While sun dogs DO describe a lot of the stuff you see depicted in biblical paintings of miracles and such, this particular event seems completely unrelated. There isn't even a ring of light depicted anywhere in the sky. To then go and say something like: "See? Maybe think about reality before jumping to conclusions and calling it aliens." is hypocritical. This isn't even in defense of ufos or aliens being the culprit in this Nuremberg case, just of common sense and equality of skeptical rigor. People will go to ridiculous lengths to debunk or explain away something they personally find ridiculous. Typically equally (if not more-so) as ridiculous as whatever theory they find ridiculous. "What could these UFOs be that were tracked by military clocking impossible speeds for any known aircraft that're causing such a ruckus in our national defense programs? That's really strange. Could it be some kind of technology the public and/or military's never seen before?" -> "OmG iT's JuSt A bIrD yA dUmMy aLiEns ArEn'T rEaL! LmAo! bEtTeR fInD yOuR TiNfOiL hAt! LoL!" By their own purported logic, it's should be equally silly to jump to conclusions that, while familiar to us, completely fail as a reasonable explanation for what's observed, as it would be to jump to a more likely, but unconfirmed (advanced tech of some kind), explanation that isn't familiar to us. What they fail or refuse to explain, they'll either ignore, or just settle on an equally ridiculous explanation that just happens to be something regularly observed. Then, they still have enough cognitive dissonance left over to chortle and insinuate you're an idiot for exploring alternative explanations (because you've already done the research to find out if there WAS a simple explanation) that they refuse to consider because they've already determined them to be silly based on "how they feel about it" and congratulate themselves on being "rational". People made fun of explorers coming back from Africa and describing Gorillas. Nobody believed them. People living in Europe had obviously never heard of them or seen them before, except for these "silly stories", and it took a long time for them to become scientifically recognized, despite being observed and reported by "silly sun-sick explorers" for decades. It's beyond me how people can dismiss extraordinary and unexplained things like UFOs and either totally write them off as either totally fabricated and irrelevant to any reasonable public discourse, as if it were a complete non-issue, or they outright betray their own reasoning in favor of overly simple, banal, and inaccurate explanations. That or they just outright ignore it because they don't care. I can at least sympathize with that last reason to dismiss it a bit more, though I definitely don't relate to it. At least they aren't trying to appear smart or superior at the cost of betraying what intelligence they actually have.
Terrence Mckenna has an interesting concept about what the UFO experience cou'ldve really mean in humanity through psylocibin. He called this The Other, and they reside in this hyperdimension and the psilocybin could be an extraterrestial or an alien.
Im surprised you didnt mention Dr. Greer. pretty compelling until I realized it was just some new age religion. I lost my shit when he had someone off the coast fire flares into the air saying he was communicating to them to his little group.
My only fear is that we come into contact with aliens now and they’re hostile. In science fiction humanity has already expanded across the stars, yet in reality we’re like babies who’ve just learned to walk still as far as space exploration is concerned. I honestly don’t think we’d survive
You’re confusing Hollywood movies with reality. Humans are as advanced as can be, there’s nowhere within billions of light years where anything else is capable of space travel.
I am a religious Christian (Lutheran), but neither me or my family or my church, we never used any Bible KJV version which I confirmed to many mistranslated. My country used NIV version Bible since 70s, which translated directly from Hebrew and Greek. So there is nothing words like "Lucifer" or "unicorn" or other mistranslated words like in the KJV version were existed in my Bible. But I liked many of hochelaga's videos to see many different perspectives, and for the sake of my curiosity about the root cause or how come people would brought such of ideas. Really interesting.
consider doing vids on ndes from people who have died throughout history, it goes back further than you'd think, these nde testimonials from heaven/hell are fascinating and always gets downplayed in the mainstream, there are fakes who talk of having dreams in order to get views but the genuine cases are the ones that have officially died and are later resuscitated

having been told that their souls will ascend onto the spaceship.
Genuinely, my favourite topic, and quite unexpected. Great video, as usual.
The difference between cult and culture is a critical mass.
Are you saying there aren't abusive practices in Christianity, Buddhism, etc and none of them have any secrets? Because we know that's not true.
Always a good day when you drop a video

As always a very entertaining video.

i'm foreign to english and understood all the words without subtitles. your accent along with the content have became one of my faves. keep going!
Always glad to see a new video from you
You have the best content. Thank you for these videos
This channel keeps me awake at night

7:26 I love that directly after this sentence I got an ad for the Pillow Cube 😂😂😂
Hochelaga creating endlessly entertaining videos.
Alien!
Me: Throws rock
Person: What is that?
Me: A UFO
Quite a fascinating subject, even if I don't believe in it! I remember as a young kid seeing an old book someone had about extraterrestrials in the Bible with an eye on the front cover. Anyone remember what that book was called? I seem to recall it was published in 1978.
Chariots of the Gods? by Erich von Däniken (1968). That might be it. 🙃
Please upload frequently🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the video! Would love to see more on this topic. :)
Very good video sir. I enjoy your perspective with attempt to leave personal bias out. It was great.
absoluetly loved this. Thank you .

Another great thing about your videos: no mention of Raid Shadow Legends or Manscaped
Minor correction: the Sea Org refers to the so-called navy of the CoS, not a particular ship like the cruise liner you mentioned around 9:15.
I didn't know that Japan had ancient ufo stories. Give me all the delicious teachings 😍
Would like to see the alleged ancient accounts of alien visitations being adapted into the MonsterVerse (my guess is that Monarch now has a branch that studies extraterrestrial encounters, and some of these sightings were contacts with the MonsterVerse’s version of the Xiliens, the Kilaaks, the M Space Hunter Nebula aliens, the Black Hole Planet 3 aliens, or the Vortaak).
Also, would like to see the Utsuro-bune incident adapted into an episode of Ultraman.

I looove your videos and can't get enough!
Saw a Tic Tok bout an alien asking about Jesus, he like "why he so cool?" And human is like "cause he told us to be nice to each other" and the alien like "no one else said that?" And the human like "another guy did" and then the alien asks "what did you do to them?" The humans a little stumped and responds "umm we killed them😬"
Thank you for the subtitles

Keep up the great work ! Sending you much love from the Hochelaga borough which is in the city of Montreal. I feel like I have a natural connection to your videos.
Seems dangerous another heavens gate incident might happen again in the future
I don't find them anymore ridiculous or outlandish than other more popular world religions and I am glad that was addressed. It really is a rebranding that even makes more sense than these established religions in some cases.
I'm guessing humans have realized there aren't very many Heroes worth celebrating on Earth, and God left them behind. Give us some aliens!

...the explanation for the Nuremberg incident is enough for me to discount any conclusions mainstream science has about ancient aliens.
Could it be some kind of technology the public and/or military's never seen before?"
-> "OmG iT's JuSt A bIrD yA dUmMy aLiEns ArEn'T rEaL! LmAo! bEtTeR fInD yOuR TiNfOiL hAt! LoL!"
By their own purported logic, it's should be equally silly to jump to conclusions that, while familiar to us, completely fail as a reasonable explanation for what's observed, as it would be to jump to a more likely, but unconfirmed (advanced tech of some kind), explanation that isn't familiar to us.
It was very cool to see this video, after listening to the fabulous podcast "It’s probably (not) aliens"
Another excellent topic and video!
@hochelaga is one of, if not the, most entertaining channel. Always brings a smile to my face whenever you upload more wonderful content!
I think the tagline "I want to believe" is very telling.
Terrence Mckenna has an interesting concept about what the UFO experience cou'ldve really mean in humanity through psylocibin. He called this The Other, and they reside in this hyperdimension and the psilocybin could be an extraterrestial or an alien.
9:07 holy shit, that cruise ship is always docked at the port of my home country of Aruba.
You have the voice of Lemony Snicket 💯
You should do a video on the “book of Enoch” please🙏
I know you would enjoy it, it is one of the lost and uncommon book of the bible
Fr. Spyridon Bailey has a good book on this subject called “The UFO Deception”.
Very well done!
@@oskardirlewanger6083 Really?
How do you know that?
I am a religious Christian (Lutheran), but neither me or my family or my church, we never used any Bible KJV version which I confirmed to many mistranslated. My country used NIV version Bible since 70s, which translated directly from Hebrew and Greek. So there is nothing words like "Lucifer" or "unicorn" or other mistranslated words like in the KJV version were existed in my Bible.
But I liked many of hochelaga's videos to see many different perspectives, and for the sake of my curiosity about the root cause or how come people would brought such of ideas. Really interesting.

Do a video on the I AM activity.
consider doing vids on ndes from people who have died throughout history, it goes back further than you'd think, these nde testimonials from heaven/hell are fascinating and always gets downplayed in the mainstream, there are fakes who talk of having dreams in order to get views but the genuine cases are the ones that have officially died and are later resuscitated
In fact, heaven's gate did not technically disband. They still have a couple of members who were chosen to stay behind while the others "transcended". It's their job take care of their affairs on earth, like maintain the website etc.

That was edifying.
I had some dealing with Raeilians back in the 90’s. The group was made up mostly of young beautiful women. I’m not sure why that was, but I will admit that did keep me intrigued for a while, even though I thought their whole belief system was too far out for me. They also believed in a lot of touching and hugging. Looking back, maybe I should’ve gone with it.
I didn't notice I thought occult and magic/witchcraft pagan based religions were on the rise
