- The Book of Revelation is undoubtably the strangest book in the whole Bible. An Apocalyptic vision containing earthquakes, plagues, and a few of multi-eyed 'Bible Accurate Angels' for good measure. The Biblical Apocalypse may be something you've heard of, but may not know what is supposed to take place. For example, where does the number 666 come from? and what is Armageddon?
If you're looking to learn more about the biblical apocalypse, then you're in the right place. I have crafted together this handy introductory video taking a secular-minded overview of the Book of Revelation. Now, although I have entitled this video as a survival guide, actual survival tips may be lacking. That said, knowing what to expect may help in an actual apocalypse. Or not...
After a bit of a pause in my upload schedule to finish of university work, I'm glad to say that I've graduated! Thank you all for your patience, more videos on the way. I think the problem is we take things too literally. "Eyes all over" doesnt necessarily mean actual biological eyes all around their body. It could also mean omnipresent.
100% I always thought “walking on water” meant treading the unconscious mind. They spoke in an entirely different language back then. + the Bible has been altered & rewritten a couple hundred times since then.

@@VSCNDED I get what you mean, and with many religions everyone tends to take it quite literally, but I find Christianity’s to be quite chill than other religions taking stuff seriously. About the Bible being rewritten, I concur as today you see it all the time, but a while back they uncovered the Dead Sea Scrolls, which we can use today to check the true reliability of the Bible, and compare it to more older versions. This stuff gets really like in depth and I don’t study the Bible much so I’m not the one to talk to about this lol, very interesting to talk about though since there’s a lot of possibilities when religions are like 2,000 to 3,000 years old.

The Beast-from-the-Sea is obviously the Antichrist, while the Beast-coming-out-from-Earth is the ‘False Prophet.’

I like how during the apocalypse with giant manticore locuts and dragons and earthquakes that shatter the whole world people are still worried about buying and selling things. Imagine a Hollywood apocalypse movie everything is pretty much ended, but there's a functioning roving group/band and they will trade with you but only if you join them. It's been on screen in mad max, water world, even judge dredd where the surviving "clan" requires a allegiance of some type and a id to get in and live a somewhat normal life. Its totally plausible

When I was a kid I asked my mom about Revelations and 2012. To put me at ease, my mom said "Only God knows when the world is going to end"
So everyday I would wake up and say to myself "the world will end today". Which meant if God was going to do it then, he couldn't anymore since he was not the *only* one who knew it would be that day.

Hey, man. I know I'm a little late to the party, but I wanted to clarify some things. First of all, great work! As a Christian, I thought this was a fairly clear summary of what the book of Revelation says. As you mentioned some of the text is meant to be taken figuratively and some of it is meant to be taken literally.
Also, there are other aspects of the Biblical apocalypse that are not in the book of Revelation, but are in other prophetic books, such as Daniel and Isaiah, so this is not the absolute complete picture of what we Christians believe is to come. Also, when it comes to Biblical prophecies, they have a tendency to refer to multiple different time frames. For example, if a prophet talked about a king or an empire falling (not specific), then an event like it would likely happen in the prophet's lifetime and then a similar event would also occur after the prophet had died. It's an interesting phenomenon. So while, in a way, Nero could have been the "antichrist" equivalent in John's lifetime and some of these events happened during that time, but that was not the true apocalypse. (I'm sure you recognized this).
Second, Revelation is not necessarily a one-to-one timeline of events. Some of the things are meant to represent events that have already happened (the dragon trying to eat the child of the woman crowned with twelve stars is meant to represent Jesus' death and resurrection (i think)). Others could be happening now and others will happen in the future and some of them may happen simultaneously. It's not the clearest book when it comes to timeline, but that just adds to the idea that only God knows the day and the hour.
Three, (this one is unconsequential) I noticed that you said that the armies of the earth would come to fight each other at the valley of Megiddo, but the text actually says that they all join together to fight against the armies of God which is why we get the depiction of the blood flowing for something like 3 miles up to a horse bridle. This is interesting too becuase Napoleon Bonaparte once implied that the valley would have been the perfect place for the largest battle in history.
Four (sorry i have a lot of points that I wanted to add), the book of Revelation is accredited to the Apostle John (the one who wrote the gospel of John).
Five, I noticed that you said that scholars claimed that the book had been edited, which is likely not true. While the book has been copied, if it was included in the canon determined by the Council of Nicea then there were multiple different copies that had all said the exact same thing or similar enough things that they could determine what the original text actually said. That becomes a discussion of Canonicity and how the canon was determined. And I'm pretty sure that my comment is long enough as it is, but I'd be happy to explain if anyone is interested.

The beast with 7 heads and 10 horns coming up out of the waters, multi-headed means political, singular is religious (being the anti-christ which is Satan).
7 dominions throughout the earth, 10 kings/world leaders, the waters are the people expecting to be raptured, for it will be as in the days of Noah, those who are taken abide under God's wrath.
False messiah comes 1st in Rev. 12 Satan and the fallen angels will be cast to earth, he is the son of perdition (perdition means to be put to death, he is the only 1 who has already been judged).
The harlot, the woman spoken of is that great city Babylon, babel=confusion (Satan is the author of confusion), God said "to come out of her.
It's not until the son of perdition, after the 2nd woe, on the 7th trumpet is when Jesus returns, the Lord's Day (that 1000yr period, the day John was taken to, even past where were at now), when Jesus returns the dead will rise and we will all (meaning everyone to have ever lived) be in the spirit.
Yeshua Messiah will reign here on in the new Heaven in the earth till the Great White Throne judgement, then Satan will be let loosed a little while because God is fair and everyone will have a chance and they will be tested by him and some will still even then choose to follow/worship Satan.
God is that consuming, you don't burn in Hell forever and ever, your name is blotted out, no longer existing, period, all souls return to whenst they came.
The mark of beast in the forehead are those without the seal of God in their foreheads (meaning the truth), the mark on their hand are those doing the work of the beast, not a tattoo of 666 or a computer chip implanted.
The 1st beast received a deadly wound on 1 of it's heads, a disagreement via the supernatural entity being Satan when he is cast out of Heaven entirely will come to solve the problem (world peace), no nations to wage war against 1 another we/they will all be as 1, a 1 world rule, under Satan (the beast system).
The religious beast who was out of the earth (dust/ made flesh) and cast to the earth, the anti-christ isn't a man, it's Satan (looks like a lamb, spake like a dragon).
He exercises all the powers of the 1st beast (to take advantage, coming to make peace), and when the dragon healed the wound of the 1st beast, all worshipped it (trample like cattle).
Churches will become the harlot and whore after her, and oh how so difficult it will be to speak/preach against peace/ the wound was by the sword and it is truth, for they/ the world will hate you/us for standing on God's Word till the end.
Satan uses men, the churches will do the work for him, they'll think your preaching against Jesus, our Messiah to come.

My parents used to talk about all this when I was a kid, which had two effects: It freaked my th f out, and didn't have any positive effects on my life or behavior at all. Atheist here, but my family is heavily religious. Never been big on god and religion but I really do like learning about the stories in the bible, some of them are just so brutally cool and they’ve got some pretty interesting lore cooking in the bible tbh

I’m Christian as well but I always stayed away from the book of Revelations because I was too scared lol
After the second coming of Christ, everyone will come back and meet with Jesus. Then he will tell us: Good job on the tutorial guys! Let’s get started on chapter one.

1-Believe in your heart that Jesus was raised from death
2- Declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord
And You Will be saved

If we think about it as metaphors of modern things it could like mountains are towers, islands are ships, and stars are planes. Because if he was looking at the future then he wouldn't know what towers, ships, or even planes were so he just called them what they were like
A celestial-eye is a star biblically, so whenever you hear about "thousands of eyes" or multiple "eyes covering the body": it could simply mean that this person or being is sparkling with star-like circular lights.

As a Christian this is probably the hardest book to comprehend as I haven’t heard any pastor explain the book in this great of detail. I just read revelation and I don’t even remember where the tribulation takes place in all of this. I’m assuming it happens before all the disasters on earth
Explaining this book requires very deep understanding of end time texts and profound spiritual revelation.
The tribulation period (in my understanding) begins at chapter 4 when John is taken to heaven. That's why all these disasters are happening on earth

The book of Revelation is not hard to understand if you understand that it's not about the end of the world but the end of the old covenant. All the events in it have already taken place, they are not things we are awaiting to happen. Hence why in the very first verse Jesus said these things will shortly take place, meaning in the first century.

Christ is giving His servants a revelation of things which must shortly come to pass. How is 2000 plus years later shortly come to pass? It's not.
3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
In verse 3 we have another time statement that the time for these events were near for them. How is 2000 plus years later near? It's not.
The verse also says blessed are they who read the words of the prophecy and keep the things that are in it. How did it bless those to whom it was written to in the first century if it had absolutely nothing to do with them?
4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia:Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne,
Revelation was written to the 7 churches in Asia. How was it applicable to the 7 churches in Asia that no longer exist if it had nothing to do with them?
7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
How are they who pierced Him supposed to see Him if they died over 2000 years ago? Now if Christ came in the 1st century then they could have seen Him.
9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Ironic that John tells them He was their brother and companion in the tribulation. Meaning it was presently occurring, not some event 2000 plus years later.

Jesus’ Second Coming was NOT a global event, but rather a REGIONAL event specifically located in Jerusalem for “that generation” to eye witness just like Jesus promised in Matthew 24:34.

Pseudo-Hegesippus (ch. 44): “A certain figure appeared of tremendous size, which many saw, just as the books of the Jews have disclosed, and before the setting of the sun there were suddenly seen in the clouds, chariots and armed battle arrays, by which the cities of all Judea and its territories were invaded.”
2. Eusebius (Book 3, ch. 8, Sec. 1-6): “A demonic phantom appeared of incredible size, and what will be related would have seemed a fairy-tale had it not been told by those who saw it, and been attended by suffering worthy of the portent. For before sunset there appeared in the air over the whole country chariots and armed troops coursing through the clouds and surrounding the cities.”
3. Tacitus (Book 5.13): “There had been hosts joining the battle in the skies, fiery gleams of arms…the temple illuminated by a sudden radiance from the clouds.”
4. Jossipon (ch. 87): “Now it happened after this that there was seen over the Holy of Holies from above for the entire night the outline of a man’s face, the like of whose beauty had never been seen in all the land, and his appearance was very awesome. Moreover, in those days were seen chariots of Fire and horsemen, a great force flying across the sky near to the ground coming against Jerusalem and all the land of Judah, all of them horses of fire and riders of fire.”
5. Josephus (Book 6, ch. 5, Sec. 2-3): “…chariots and troops of soldiers in their armory were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding cities.”

I'm a lapsed Catholic. My uncle helped me in bible study to get comfirmed when I was younger. He described Revelations being like "a crazy acid trip"...I still agree with this conclusion.

when my friend starts transforming into a caterpiller I tend to believe the Bible over that crazy stuff lol. I sure don't do THAT anymore

Exactly, he offers a path to safety and salvation on just faith alone. But he doesn’t impress on free will. God is so loving in fact he died for you.
